Chapter 183
"Tricia, our family is having a gathering today, and you've already come back to Appleby, so you must attend." Hendrick paused before continuing, "Aren't you at the KFC restaurant in the square? I've already sent a driver to pick you up."
At his words, Patricia glanced at her three children in front of her. If Hendrick saw them, nothing good would come out of it. She quickly stood up and grabbed Sylvie. "Scott, Stellan, take your sister and leave from the back door. I have some business to handle."
Sylvie turned and looked at her unfinished fries, her eyes full of frustration. "Tricia, I won't leave. I haven't finished eating yet!"
It was rare for a sickly child like her to be able to eat KFC, and Patricia was not usually as kind as she was today. She still wanted to eat more.
However, she had already been pushed out of the back door and thrown into a taxi, and even the two boys had no idea what happened. They all turned their heads and looked into the restaurant, wanting to see who their mother had seen that would make her so terrified. Could it be that useless father of theirs? The two little boys racked their brains, and thought that their useless father wouldn't stoop so low. At least he wouldn't abandon Patricia because of their blood relations! Hence, their next task was to find their useless father and let him chase after their mother. Then, their family would be able to live happily together, and they no longer needed to look for those unreliable scumbags for their mother.
However, neither of them saw anyone, and they could only wave their hands at her. "Mommy, remember to come home before ten!"
Patricia nodded. "Okay! Bye!"
Watching as the taxi drove away, Patricia let out a sigh of relief. She had managed not to let Hendrick's men see the three children. If not, he would be angry again, and he might even take out his anger on the three children. No matter how scary and difficult the Aniston Family were, she had to take them on by herself.
She had just sat back in place when several men in black suits walked in. "This way, Miss Aniston."
The men lined up respectfully in two rows, and Patricia walked between them and left the restaurant before getting into the discreet and luxurious car. Along the way, she looked at the scenery. The sky had already turned dark, and the neon lights around her were extremely gorgeous.
She knew the way back to the Aniston Residence very well, as she had taken it countless times when she was young. Every time she saw the entrance, she would always be very excited because she was home. Now, however, when she saw the majestic entrance, she felt a little scared, and she didn't know how her relatives inside would treat her, or what kind of vicious words they would use to beat her down. Even though they were supposed to be the closest people to her, they were the ones who hurt her the most.
The car was stopped in the parking lot, and the driver opened the door for her. As she stepped out of the car, she looked up at the main building, where the lights were brightly lit inside. It seemed that the family gatherings now were more passionate, to the point where they didn't even want to leave even
when it was late in order to stay with each other as long as possible.
Patricia walked into the living room and saw that everyone inside was dancing in pairs.
Adeline had a wine glass in her hand, and she looked drunk.
"Aunt Cersei, you're so good at dancing!"
"You're so handsome, Uncle Ronald!"
Whenever anyone looked at her, they smiled and pointed, saying, "Adeline is getting better at compliments."
Adeline suddenly smashed her wine glass to the ground and swished her skirt around, happily dancing by herself. "I'm happy when the Aniston Family are all together!"
