Chapter 294 Threatened
Thorne said, “Let’s make a bet. Will Elijah come to redeem you? If you win, I’ll let you go. If I win, you’ll be with me.”
His request wasn’t because he had feelings for Freya, but because Freya had been Elijah’s woman. If Elijah’s woman became his woman. Wouldn’t that be a slap in the face for Elijah?
Freya would never make such a bet with him. “You’re insane!”
Thorne’s face darkened suddenly, and he forcefully grabbed her chin. “I hate it when people insult me!”
Freya met his sinister gaze without fear, instead meeting his eyes with a fearless look. “You kidnap women and babies. Even if you win, you won’t be honorable. Besides, even if I die, I won’t have anything to do with someone like you.”
Thorne’s eyes turned bloodshot, veins bulging. “No wonder Elijah keeps you by his side. Turns out you have some backbone.”
If it were a woman without any self-control, she would have been crying at a time. It seemed that Elijah was impressed with her not just because of her looks. Thorne Silverton was beginning to see Freya in a different light.
“Fine. Very well, let’s see how long you can remain defiant.” Thorne forcefully released her. “Get out of the car.”
Freya happened to not want to be in the same space with him in the car. Her chin was left red from Thorne’s grip. She didn’t cry out in pain, remaining resilient throughout. If she cried out in pain, it would only make Thorne more pleased with himself. Freya stood beside the car, a gust of wind blowing, messing up her hair.
Thorne took out a bomb vest from the trunk of the car and approached Freya. Freya’s eyes widened in terror. “What are you doing?”
Thorne finally saw fear on Freya’s face and felt quite pleased. He kindly explained to her, “I went through great effort to get this. You see, this vest is filled with explosives, and there’s a controller. Do you know who usually uses something like this?”
Freya stepped back, not interested in who usually uses it. She just wanted this thing to be far away from her. Thorne had his men hold her in place and continued explaining, “Do you know what this is called? Let me tell you, it’s called a bomb vest. And do you know who typically uses this?”
Freya really wanted to spit on him. Thorne ignored her anger and continued, “This is typically used by terrorists. They wear it and go down with the person they want to kill. It must look good on you.”
He approached Freya with the vest in his hands. Freya was being physically restrained by two large men and couldn’t move or resist. Even if she could move, she probably wouldn’t be able to resist. Thorne put the vest on her and held the controller in his hand. He smirked maliciously. “All I have to do is press this start button lightly, and you’ll go boom… shattered into pieces.”
He sighed and continued, “If only you had agreed to be with me. Then I wouldn’t have to resort to this method of control.”
Suddenly, a series of phone rings sounded.
Thorne’s phone was ringing. He answered the call. His face gradually changed, full of arrogance and threat. “If there’s one more person with you, I guarantee Freya won’t leave here alive!”Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
He hung up the phone, smugly laughing in front of Freya. “It seems Elijah still cares about you.”
Freya glared at him, not saying a word.
Thorne said, “The more he cares about you, the more useful you are to me. The more control I have over him. I not only want him to hand over Skyline Co., but I also want revenge for my mother’s death.”
Freya clenched her fists, hoping Elijah wouldn’t come. Thorne was clearly on guard, knowing he would be at a disadvantage if Elijah showed up. All she hoped for was that Elijah would rescue Kai and Elowen.
At that moment, a black SUV pulled up not far away and quickly parked by the side of the road. The car door opened, following by a tall figure stepping out with a confident stride.
