You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 293 A Bet

During this period, Elijah was indeed frequently abroad. Thorne had heard some rumors about him and Freya being at odds. However, there was no concrete evidence. Could it be true that Elijah and Freya were really having a rift?

“I don’t believe it,” Thorne still found it hard to believe.

Elijah simply hung up the phone.

Was this attitude truly indifference towards Freya?

Or was Elijah just playing mind games?

Thorne himself was conflicted.

He looked at Freya. “Did you really have a fight with Elijah?”

Freya knew how much Elijah cared about Joan Nash’s situation. She understood it as well. But when she heard him say that he wouldn’t be in love with someone who killed his own mother, her heart ached. It felt so painful. She tried hard to hold back her emotions. “Don’t you already know everything? Why are you asking me?”

Thorne stared at Freya. Her pained and restrained expression didn’t seem like an act at all. But Elijah was cunning, and Freya wasn’t foolish. Who knew if this was just a duet they were performing as a couple?RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

Thorne had failed so many times in Elijah’s hands, he couldn’t afford to fail this time. Regardless of whether Elijah cared about Freya or not, he had to firmly keep this woman in his grasp. He dialed Elijah’s number once again.

Meanwhile, Elijah had already met up with Evan. The tracking route continued southward. He squinted his eyes and asked Xander to bring him a map. Once the map was brought, he compared the tracking route with the map and realized that heading south led to the bustling district, where the administrative area was also located. This was clearly a good place to avoid committing any crimes.

“Do you have a problem? I’ve had someone following him all along…”

Elijah glanced at him and asked in return, “You don’t think it’s strange?”

Evan looked at the map and fell silent for a few seconds. “Yes, but…”

“But what? The phone might not be on his person.” Xander interrupted.

Evan, being too anxious, overlooked the details. Now that he thought about it, the tracking had been going too smoothly. That seemed intentional. Thorne had made thorough preparations. How could he not think of Freya’s phone?

“Let the person who’s been tracking come forward and expose the truth.” Xander suggested.

Evan immediately ordered someone to do so.

Elijah’s phone suddenly rang again. He stared at the phone. It was Thorne’s number.

Xander said, “Don’t answer.”

They still hadn’t found Kai’s hiding place, and Freya was still in Thorne’s hands. If he answered the call, he would certainly be threatened by Thorne. It was better not to answer and let Thorne be unable to reach him. Elijah gave Xander a cold glance and answered the call. At this moment, not answering could potentially anger Thorne. He was capable of doing something crazy to Freya and Kai. Even though Elijah knew he would be at someone’s mercy, he had no choice but to face it. There was no way around it. Once a person had a vulnerability, they easily lost their composure. Freya and Kai were too important to him now. Without Joan Nash, his only family was Freya and Kai. He couldn’t let anything happen to them. But Elijah wouldn’t show it. Maintaining a cold tone, he answered the call.

“I’ve made myself clear. What, can’t you understand? Or are you incapable of finding out?” said Elijah.

Thorne felt like he had been stepped on the tail, furious. Elijah’s final words sounded like he was mocking Thorne’s abilities.

“I’ll give you one hour. Hand over everything about Skyline Co. to me. If you refuse, I’ll dismember Freya and feed her to the river.”

After saying that, Thorne hung up the phone. He looked at Freya and asked, “What do you think? Will Elijah trade Skyline Co. for you?”

Freya replied coldly, “I’m not that valuable. You’re thinking too highly of me.”

“I think he will come,” Thorne leaned back in his chair, anger still evident on his face. “I know him well. Even if he doesn’t have feelings for you, you’re still his woman. He’ll do his best to save you for the sake of his own pride.”

He didn’t need to explain, but after he did, Freya’s expression became even more unpleasant. Did Elijah only save her for the sake of his pride?

“I think you’re wrong. Perhaps he won’t do something unrealistic and impractical that doesn’t benefit him. I advise you to give up on that hope.”

Thorne suddenly chuckled. “Want to make a bet?”

“What are we betting on?” Freya stared at him cautiously.
