Chapter 259 Love Conceals Villainy
Freya found it laughable. “Joan Nash died because of Eric Lowe’s selfish love, didn’t she? Yes, he saved her, but he also killed her, didn’t he? If he didn’t want Joan Nash to remember her past, he wouldn’t have implanted that chip in her. She wouldn’t have had a brain hemorrhage, leading to shock and no time for rescue. Isn’t he a murderer? As Joan Nash’s son, Elijah, shouldn’t he seek revenge on Eric Lowe?”
“Eric truly loved Joan Nash.” Sivin Peters risked sacrificing Freya in order to save Eric Lowe. As Eric Lowe’s longtime friend, he knew, and understood Eric’s feelings for Joan.
“If he truly loved her, did Joan Nash truly love him back? If Joan Nash loved Eric Lowe, then why did she marry Elijah’s father? And did he get Joan Nash’s consent before erasing her memories? I believe that Eric Lowe is selfish. He selfishly took away someone’s memories and uses love to conceal his own villainy. I won’t agree, and I can’t agree. My relationship with my husband is good, and I can’t make Elijah hate me because of this. And you say that Eric Lowe loves Joan Nash, but in my opinion, that’s not love, that’s possession.”
He forcibly possessed someone’s wife and took away someone’s mother.
“It is love.” Retorted Sivin.
“Anyway, I won’t agree,” Freya firmly stated.
“In consideration of how I protected you before, can you at least…”
“No, I can’t. I am very grateful for what you did for Liora, and I remember it in my heart. But I truly can’t help with this matter. Elijah has the right to know the truth, and none of us can deprive him of that.”
Sivin had no choice. “I understand.” He let out a deep sigh, then called Eric Lowe inside.
“I’ve done my best.”
It was clear what he meant by that statement. Eric’s eyes were bloodshot as he looked at Sivin. “If I had agreed to perform the surgery for her earlier, would she still have…”NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
Sivin lowered his head and remained silent. The truth was just as Eric stated. Joan Nash had been suffering from headaches for a while, and it was only because Eric Lowe couldn’t bring himself to remove what was in her brain that this tragedy occurred today. Freya’s words were actually correct. He saved Joan Nash. But at the same time, he also killed her.
Sivin sighed.
Eric took a step forward, moving closer to the operating table where Joan Nash lay lifeless. His body trembled, and suddenly, he dropped to his knees with a loud thud. He held Joan Nash’s hand, tears streaming down his face as he sobbed, “Joan.”
“Joan… It’s my fault, I ruined you… it’s all my fault…”
Eric’s body shook uncontrollably. There he remained, kneeling before the operating table.
“It’s all my fault. If I had agreed to perform the surgery for you earlier, you wouldn’t be like this… it’s all me, it’s all me…”
In anguish, Eric banged his head against the ground. Sivin did not intervene, he simply closed his eyes and turned away.
“Joan, Joan…”
Eric’s shoulders trembled. Tears, snot, and heavy breaths covered his face. The sorrow he felt was beyond measure, as if he had immersed himself in a world of grief as if he had forgotten there were people around him. Or perhaps, he was too consumed by sadness to care. His appearance no longer mattered.
“What am I supposed to do without you…” his voice choked with emotion. He kissed Joan Nash’s hand, tears falling one by one.
“Don’t leave me…”
Freya turned away. In that moment, she seemed to feel Eric Lowe’s love for Joan Nash. Eric was selfish, and he made mistakes. But he truly loved Joan Nash, didn’t he?
Freya took off her mask and walked out of the operating room. Standing in the corridor, she gazed absentmindedly at a particular spot.
“Dr Stone,” a nurse approached her.
Freya snapped out of her daze and looked at the nurse, asking, “What’s the matter?”
“Yes, there’s a package for you at the front desk, they need you to sign for it.” The nurse said.
“OK, I see.” Freya nodded and replied. She walked to the front desk, where the delivery person was still waiting. Seeing her, he asked, “Are you Freya Stone?”
“Yes.”
“I have a package for you, please sign for it.”
Wearing her blue surgical gown, Freya didn’t have a pen in her pocket. She took one from the nurse at the front desk and signed for the package. But when she saw that the sender’s name was Joan Lowe, her heart skipped a beat.
What could be inside this package?!!
