You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 157 Manipulated

“Why are you so surprised?” Calista looked at Freya.

Freya instantly changed her tone, smiling, “I’m a doctor, and my hobby is dancing. I’ve never been involved in gambling, especially not underground casinos. I find it intriguing and was curious…”

Calista warned, “Let me tell you, don’t mention it to anyone. After all, this kind of operation is not allowed, and if caught, he’ll face legal trouble.”

Freya first assured her she wouldn’t say anything, then shifted the conversation, “He’s breaking up with you, and you’re still concerned about him?”

“After all, we’ve been through a lot together.” Calista spoke softly, sounding helpless and sorrowful. “Even if we break up, I don’t want to see him end up in jail.”

“Didn’t you say he’s the young master of the Silverton family? The Silverton family is wealthy and influential. Shouldn’t he be fine?” Freya pretended not to know anything.

Calista said, “Although I don’t know much about his situation, I know one thing. He has grievances with his cousin, so he operates the casino secretly. If his cousin doesn’t mess with him, he won’t be afraid of anything.”

Freya lowered her eyes slightly. Because she knew that Thorne Silverton’s cousin, mentioned by Calista, was Elijah Silverton.

She remembered Elijah mentioning that Thorne Silverton’s mother had tried to kill him. There was deep animosity between them.

Freya thought this information would be advantageous for Elijah. Taking advantage of pretending to play with her phone, she sent a message to Elijah and added, “Don’t act recklessly. I’ve connected with Calista Winters, and I’ll go in to check the situation.”

Without finding Kai, it wasn’t wise to clarify things immediately. In case Thorne Silverton became desperate, Kai would be in danger. Rescuing Kai was the top priority.

Elijah received Freya’s message, and his face darkened. He had suspected before that Thorne Silverton couldn’t just be spending the family’s money; he must be up to something in secret. He had asked Xander to investigate, but so far, there was no result. Freya had found out first.

He wasn’t happy because Xander’s efficiency in handling things had been declining.

“Be careful.”

Freya was going to investigate, and he was worried she might be discovered by Thorne Silverton, posing a danger.

Freya replied, “I know.”

Then she put down her phone.

“What should I say when I see him?” Calista suddenly hesitated, feeling that she had been too impulsive.

Thorne had already mentioned breaking up with her. Would he hate her for being so persistent?

“What’s the point of breaking up if you don’t understand it clearly? Is he simply losing interest in this relationship, or does he have someone else? You have the right to know, right? Do you want to break up without knowing the reason?” Freya encouraged her.

At this moment, Calista hesitated, feeling it might not be appropriate to go to the casino. She thought about it and found Freya’s words made sense.

Thorne Silverton was breaking up with her.

Couldn’t she ask for just one answer?

She was entitled to it.

Soon, the car arrived at South Pier, and Freya paid the fare. They got off the car. There were many cargo ships here. This was a freight terminal, so there were many containers.

Could there be a casino here?

Freya couldn’t tell. She jokingly said, “Opening a casino here, is it in the containers or on the ship?”

Calista glanced at her and said, “In the containers on the ship.”

Freya, “…”

Indeed, this way, it was less likely to be discovered.

“I don’t understand. I heard Thorne say that he’s not afraid of being investigated. If someone finds out, he just sails the ship to international waters, and no one can do anything to him,” Calista said.

Freya’s face turned slightly cold, “Yeah, very thoughtful.”

Gambling was strictly prohibited and illegal. Thorne Silverton not only engaged in it but also came up with such a cunning plan. If Calista hadn’t told her, she wouldn’t have thought there was a casino hidden in this freight terminal.

“Let’s go, I’ll take you.” Calista led her to a small boat with two crew members. Anyone who wanted to enter the casino had to go through this boat.

The crew members had seen Calista before, so they let her on.

But they hadn’t seen Freya, so they stopped her, “You can’t board.”

“She’s with me,” Calista said. “She’s my friend. You guys have been instructed by Master Thorne not to let this information out. I know, and my friend knows. I’m here today to find him. Is he here?”

Last time, Thorne had held Calista in his arms. Everyone knew she was Thorne’s woman. Now that she said it herself, the two crew members had no choice but to let Freya on the boat.

“But both of your phones must be handed over.”

Knowing the rules, Calista turned off her phone first and handed it to them. Freya needed to contact Elijah using her phone. If she gave it away, she wouldn’t be able to reach Elijah if she found news about Kai. She was hesitating.

“This is the rule to prevent people from contacting the outside while on the ship,” Calista said to Freya, seeing her hesitate.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

Freya could only reluctantly hand over her phone, “Okay.”

After they handed over their phones, the crew members started the boat.

After half an hour of sailing, Freya saw a cargo ship not far away, covered with containers.

Calista said, “That’s it.”

Freya frowned slightly, “So many containers?”

She thought there would be only one or two, but there were about twenty. The crew members seemed proud, thinking Freya hadn’t seen much of the world. Boasting, one of them said, “The ship can accommodate three hundred people, and up to four hundred when it’s crowded. But there aren’t many people today, just over a hundred.”

Freya’s eyes widened in surprise.

A few hundred people?

That truly qualified as a casino.

Thorne Silverton was really bold.

Soon, they approached the large ship, and the crew members set up a wooden board between the two ships. Calista said to Freya, “Let’s go.”

Freya nodded.

They carefully walked across the board to the large ship.

Once on board, Freya said, “I’ll wait for you here. You go find Thorne Silverton.”

“Aren’t you coming with me?” Calista asked.

Freya said, “I’m a stranger, and it’s not appropriate for me to be present during your conversation. Once you find out, we’ll leave. I’ll be waiting for you here.”

Calista thought it made sense. After all, the matters between her and Thorne Silverton had to be clarified by themselves. She nodded, “Okay, thank you for coming with me.”

Freya smiled. She felt a bit guilty because she had deceived Calista.

Calista should be quite naive.

Yet, she had used her. Freya didn’t go with Calista because she was afraid Thorne Silverton would recognize her, and she was on board to gather information.

Calista took a deep breath and walked towards the interior. Freya also began her own action. The ship was quite large, with no one outside; everyone was in the containers. She saw a container with a dozen men gathered around a table. She didn’t understand their games, but she saw a woman dressed as a bunny standing in the middle of the table. In the center of the table was a hole, just big enough for a person to shake dice. Next to them were the gamblers, each with their chips. Freya quietly moved away; there didn’t seem to be any clues she needed.

Suddenly, she heard crying!
