THE REMORSEFUL BILLIONAIRE

CHAPTER 39

Felix’s POV

The bombshell I dropped cast an eerie pall over the environment. She stared at me with a mixture of confusion and hatred. However, my mind was resolute, and I felt no remorse for my actions. Her behavior had driven me to the point where I forgot everything we had shared in the past.

Despite my efforts to be considerate and avoid making things difficult for her, she seemed determined to shut me out of her life completely.

“What did you mean, Felix?” she asked, her voice barely masking the pain.

“You have to marry me, or the world will know how your kids came into existence. They will know they are a product of assault,” I declared harshly.

She was speechless for a while, taking a deep breath to calm herself. Overwhelmed and anxious, she stood up from the couch, paced around the living room, then sat down again.

I could feel her uneasiness as she asked, “And how do you intend to do that? Felix, you’re making my blood boil. I just want you out of my sight.”

“You must think I’m bluffing as usual, right? I’ll make the police arrest Nathan, and knowing you won’t testify against him, I’ll tell them the kids are the concrete evidence proving the assault. And voila, your kids become celebrities overnight and Nathan ends up in jail,” I said with a wicked grin, settling back comfortably on the couch.

As I spoke, I saw panic and anxiety all over her face and a cold gaze fixed on me.

“Felix, I thought we had talked about this, and you even promised to do my bidding. So why the sudden change of mind?” she inquired, her voice trembling with intense emotion.

My heart raced and my palms grew sweaty as she asked, but I managed to compose myself and maintain an icy expression while internally panicking.

“Come on, Judith. I’m well aware of the love and protection you intend to give your kids, so I trust you to do the right thing,” I retorted.

“Felix, please, please don’t do this,” she pleaded, tears welling up in her eyes.

Hearing her plead was soothing. I had been the one pleading, and now the tables had turned. “Just do what I say. That is the only solution,” I said with a smirk.

“But I don’t love you anymore, Felix. I don’t feel anything towards you,” she declared, a tear escaping from her eye.

Angry, I furrowed my eyebrows and asked, “You don’t love me?”

“Yes, I don’t,” she replied, tearing out a tissue to wipe her tears.

Fury surged within me as I stood up, confronting her with resolute determination. “If you don’t make up your mind within a week, I will carry out what I said earlier.”

“I won’t do it, Felix. No matter what, I won’t be caught dead with a heartless animal like you,” she yelled, standing up to unleash her anger.

I couldn’t control myself and rushed towards her with my fist clenched. “How dare you call me an animal?” I yelled, ready to hit her. However, I reconsidered and just held her wrist tightly.

“It hurts. Let me go, you bastard,” she protested, hitting me hard on the arm.

I pushed her away, and she fell back onto the couch. I stared at her for a moment, unable to accept that I had become such a petty loser and perhaps an animal, as she projected.

“It’s because of Nathan, right?” I asked, my voice quivering with emotion.

“It’s not because of him. Besides, I just want to be alone with my kids,” she fired back.

“I give you a week to make your decision, or you will regret it,” I threatened.

Fueled by anger, pain, and resentment, I dashed out of the living room, jumped into my car, and sped off.

Judith’s POV

I was clearly taken aback by Felix’s actions today. It was difficult to comprehend how he had become so unreasonable and consumed by rage. I disagreed with his threats, but internally I was deeply consumed by fear and anguish.

It was difficult to comprehend how swiftly my life had turned upside down. Just a few hours prior, I had felt better and grateful for it. Now, I had lost all the peace I had managed to acquire, and I faced an even greater trouble.

“When will my life ever be peaceful?” I muttered, cleaning the tears rolling down my cheeks. I had always envisioned a fairy-tale life, but it seemed to be a luxury I would never afford.

Now, even my innocent kids would be caught up in a mess they knew nothing about, and the whole world would know of their existence. My heart felt pierced, and it seemed my whole world was crumbling again.

My mind was awhirl with emotions, and I couldn’t help but reflect on the pain I had gone through in the past few months. I stumbled into my room and sank onto the bed, utterly exhausted both physically and emotionally.

I had been so overwhelmed by emotions that I hadn’t even considered my next line of action. “I need to do something really fast, but what?”

I realized I could never marry Felix. With all the characteristics he displayed, I didn’t need a soothsayer to tell me that marrying him meant heading for my own destruction, if not execution. And my kids, I wouldn’t watch the world know about them and break them even before they become adults.

A wave of sadness washed over me, but I knew I needed to overcome these challenges no matter what. I needed to think of a safe and reliable countermeasure. I needed someone to talk to and lean on. But who? I didn’t want to disturb my mother or Vanessa; I had always been a constant worry. The only option I had was Nathan.

“Should I call him or not?” I kept contemplating in a confused state, before being eventually interrupted by the kids.Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
