The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret

Chapter 336 The Path to Recovery

Exhausted, they both collapsed onto the sofa, their fatigue evident.

Nathaniel sat down briefly before getting up again. He retrieved a blanket he had asked Koen to buy and carefully draped it over Frey. He then made a pot of lemon tea with honey, one of Frey's favorites, and brought it to her.

When they were together, Nathaniel had noticed Frey's preference for lemon tea with honey.

Frey cradled the warm cup of tea and glanced at Nathaniel, aware that there was something he needed to address.

"Mr. Nathaniel, let's go back to the way things were," she began.

"I didn't mean to avoid you. If there was any misunderstanding, there's no need to go through the trouble of searching for me in Brusville."

"Peyton and I are planning to rest for a while. We've been incredibly busy lately. I'm busy, and Peyton is even busier."

"Since our breakup, it's best if we avoid entangling ourselves further..."

"But you're sick," Nathaniel interjected, sensing what Frey was about to say. He couldn't let her go as keeping her close was the only way he could feel secure.

He only regretted his decision to kick her out of Ocean Villa because of Jacob's incident.

His words, "You're sick," stunned Frey.noveldrama

Nathaniel continued, "You have depression. You might not have realized it before, but it's not a terminal illness."

Frey looked at him with eyes of uncertainty as Nathaniel showed her the electronic version of the initial diagnosis report from Ozzy.

Frey took his phone, noting that despite Ozzy's affiliation with Nathaniel, his medical ethics were reputable.

The diagnosis surprised her but

seemed reasonable given how close she had been to collapsing, though she bad always viewed her struggles as a source of strength.

Nathaniel then half-knelt before her, and though Frey almost stood up, he held her hand firmly.

His hands trembled slightly, revealing the depth of his concern. Frey felt that his outward composure did not fully reflect his inner turmoil. Nathaniel took a deep breath and looked at her seriously.

"Frey, you will stay here for the next three days to recover. We will fly to Stanna to meet a specialist and follow their treatment plan."

"Please listen to me this time. Once you're better, you can do whatever you want, but right now, you need to focus on getting well, okay?" Despite kneeling, Nathaniel's imposing presence and the shadow cast by the sunlight made it clear how serious he was.

Frey hadn't anticipated such a severe condition and understood the potential consequences if left untreated.

Nathaniel added, "Think about it, you still have many responsibilities. Your mother needs your care, your younger brother is still missing, and didn't you wanna take revenge on me?"

His casual mention of revenge embarrassed Frey, but his final words moved her.

Nathaniel smiled gently, "You need to take care of yourself first. Only then will you have the strength to deal with everything, including me."

Frey felt touched. Although she was wealthy, she lacked the connections that Nathaniel had to access top-notch medical care.

"Alright," she agreed, feeling both exhausted and in need of a break from Saeville. She accepted that maintaining her health was essential for any future plans, including her quest for revenge.
