The Cherished Wife

Chapter 300

Something grabbed Noelle's feet in the dark, and she fell sitting to the ground. Her phone flew out of her hand.

Noelle could not see a thing, and she knocked into the sink when she fell. The pain from her waist almost made her cry. She groped around the floor with both her hands and tried to stand, but there was a piercing pain in her foot. Noelle sat falling heavily to the floor.

"Help! Is anyone out there?"

Noelle finally managed to get up to crawl out after much effort. However, she was crestfallen when she realized the bathroom door was locked. She could not open it no matter how hard she tried. Fear overcame her.

Her breathing became erratic. Noelle was riddled with fear in such dark conditions. It reminded her of being accidentally locked inside a wardrobe when she was in the Shaw residence. She had screamed for help all of her might, but no one came to save her. She thought she was dying, and if Eli had not searched everywhere for her, she might have suffocated inside the wardrobe.

However, the more danger she was in, the more she knew she had to keep calm. Noelle clenched her teeth to force herself to calm down. She kept searching around the ground with her hands to find her phone. However, Noelle just could not find it.

Charles was just about to hang up when he heard Noelle screaming from the other end of the phone. A dark look appeared in his eyes as he suddenly stood up. "Nelly? Nelly? Talk to me!" However, Noelle did not reply to him.

"What's wrong?"

Peter's eyes narrowed. The lively private room suddenly turned deadly silent. Peter looked at Charles and knew something serious had happened when he saw the grim look on Charles' face. Peter raised his hand slightly, and everyone having fun in the room instantly stopped what they were doing.Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

Charles pressed his lips and stared at the phone. Noelle's phone signal had been cut off. Her phone was turned off when he tried calling her again.

His face turned pale. He was beginning to panic despite his usually calm demeanor. "Ronald."

Ronald was standing in wait outside. He walked in immediately when he heard Charles calling him. "What do you need, Mr. Hoffman?"

"Seal this place right now. No one is allowed to leave." Charles glanced at Peter. "Get your men to check every single person here. Anyone who came to The Majestic Lounge today isn't allowed to leave. Also..." Charles continued while looking sharply at Peter, "Focus on looking into that group of people who came with Nelly for the reunion."

*Reunion? A dark look appeared in Peter's eyes. He looked at the grim look on Charles' face and raised his hand to call Lareal into the room. "Is there anyone worth noting here today?"

Lareal glanced at Charles and immediately replied, "Mrs. Hoffman and her friends are having a reunion gathering tonight. They have the entire second floor to themselves. Spencer Sabian was the one who booked the place."

"Spencer Sabian?" Charles' eyes narrowed. He glanced at Peter and smiled. “It doesn't matter who it is. No one is allowed to leave today!" Lareal gave Peter a troubled look. However, Peter waved him off. "Didn't you hear what Charles just said? If anything happens to his wife, you'll be the first to suffer the consequences."

"Yes, Mr. Lennon!" Lareal shuddered and pushed his glasses up further his nose. "I'll find her right now."

Lareal and Ronald immediately led their respective men to conduct the search. It was the first time they had seen Charles this way, and it was frightening.

Peter stood up after Lareal and Ronald left. "Do you think someone is trying to mess with Noelle?"
