Chapter 299
"Noelle!" Yevgen called out to her. "Do you mind giving me your number? We're old friends, after all. It'd be nice to keep in contact."
Her eyes narrowed. "I'm sorry. Can this wait until I'm back?"
Noelle was feeling extremely dizzy, and she left quickly before Yevgen could reply. He watched as she walked farther away, but his eyes refused to leave her.
"I wonder what's this called. A dead end?"
Yevgen's eyes narrowed as he turned to look into Annie's taunting eyes. It only upset him. “This is none of your business!"
Annie sneered, "Yes, this is none of my business. Do you think I'm still the same Annie from before?"
Yevgen frowned. He did not want to stay there with Annie and he walked past her to leave. Annie stared at his back while laughing and saying, "Don't you want to know what happened to Noelle the last few years?"
Annie looked gleeful as she smiled mysteriously.
Noelle finally found the bathroom after turning several corners. She went into a stall to relieve herself and felt much better when she walked out. She stood in front of the sink and stared at the person in the mirror. Her face was flushed red. It was a sign of her drinking too much.
Sighing, she splashed her face with water. Noelle felt herself sober up and refreshed her makeup.
The phone in her bag rang, and she smiled when she saw the name on the screen. "Hello."
"It's me." Charles' clear, maic voice was heard over the phone. Noelle had been feeling a headache
but felt much better now.
"I know." Noelle bit her lip. "Are you still outside or have you gone home?"
"I'm still outside," Charles replied. He drummed his slender fingers on his knee as he said, "I'll go over to pick you up in a while. Where are you?"
Noelle replied, "Alright. I'm at The Majestic Lounge. Is it too far for you? I can go home by myself."
Charles asked softly, "Were you drinking? You shouldn't drive if you have been drinking." He then said with a laugh, “I'm at The Majestic Lounge too. I'm with Peter and the rest."
"Oh, then you should come to pick me up!" Noelle had drunk quite a bit, and she was planning to get a cab as she should not be driving home.
She immediately agreed es
to pick her up when she found out he was at The Majestic Lounge too.
"Will you be done soon? Let me know if you will be. I'm about done too."
"I still have half an hour," Charles said. However, he was met with a few quizzical looks, Charles raised an eyebrow and smiled. "My wife wants me home. You single people wouldn't understand it."Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
"What do you mean, Charles?"
Noelle heard a deep, stern voice that sounded unhappy. She then heard Sean saying, "Charles, don't think you're so great just because you're married. You're being extremely shameless right here."
This made Noelle burst out laughing. There was a happy twinkle in Charles' deep eyes as he said, "Am being shameless? Well, I can be even more shameless than this!" He immediately said, "I'll call you again later, Nelly!"
"Alright!" Noelle laughed as she shook her head. "I'll see you later!" The lights in the bathroom suddenly blinked, and she heard something exploding. The bathroom then descended into darkness.
