Love or Die: CEO’ s Daily Dose of Swoon (Cordelia)

Chapter 205

Chapter 205

In the dorm, an eerie silence fell out of nowhere.

The three of us exchanged glances, our eyes finally resting collectively on Cordelia.

Seeing the shock etched on their faces, Cordelia didn't mind. She started unpacking her suitcase, organizing her belongings a bit.

Just as she was placing her textbooks on her desk, the three finally snapped out of their daze, springing to their feet in unison. "You, you're really Cordelia?"

"The genius, and no bald spot?"

"Ah, I remember now, the genius who also acted in a play. I haven't seen it myself, but you must be stunning!"

"Hey, do you need a hand with that?"

Cordelia: ??

What's with this weird nickname, 'hey'?

She grimaced slightly, "No need, you must be tired too."

"Not at all!" The three girls stepped forward, eager to help her unpack. "Just touching the genius's textbooks could bring us luck for tomorrow's diagnostic test!"

"Let me touch them too!"

Someone piped up, "Oh, the girl who came with us today wanted to touch the genius too. I'll message her in the group chat."

Everyone attending the Autumn Gold Academic Bootcamp was top of their class in their respective provinces, especially in mathematics.

Although there were only about forty to fifty girls among the several hundred attendees...

Even if they were top students back home, arriving at this gathering spot could be nerve-wracking. After the girl's message in the chat, those too shy to come over or those who flooded into their dorm did so.

"Hi, genius!"

And just like that, Cordelia became an exhibit: ".

No one dared to touch her directly; they just touched her books and belongings, seeking some psychological comfort before the diagnostic test. Cordelia felt awkward, unsure how to react.

Then, from the doorway, a voice rang out: "Sycophants, sycophants, all that bootlicking will get you nowhere!"

The students about to touch Cordelia's textbooks froze.

Cordelia, along with everyone else, turned toward the door to see a short-haired girl with a round face standing there. She wore casual clothes and looked down her nose at everyone, scoffing, "What's the use without real skills? If you're talented, why fear a diagnostic test? We're all high schoolers here, quit with the medieval superstitions."

Then, turning to Cordelia, she added snidely, "Some people really don't know their own worth, huh? Think touching you will help them pass the diagnostic? Please."

Silence enveloped the dorm once more.

After a brief pause, someone finally spoke up: "Queenie! What's that supposed to mean?"

So, this girl was Queenie.

Cordelia looked down, only to hear Queenie say, "Nothing much. It's just that the tests haven't even started. Who knows if some people will still be on top?"

She glanced at her Olympiad

problems, "Hard work pays off, and there's no shortcut in the Math Olympiad Some people are busy acting and gaming, thinking they've got it made. Let me tell you, there's no shortcut in math. Without effort, you're nothing!"

She gave Cordelia a look of disdain, "I've heard Keen has been grinding till late every night, prepping for the Mathematics Olympiad. And you?, Getting a little too cocky with one provincial top score? Remember, there's a top scorer in every province. You might be a big fish in the small pond of Greenmeadow, but this is where the sharks gather. You're not the genius here; you're just a minnow!"

With those parting shots, Queenie stormed off.

The room stayed silent for a good ten seconds before the previously enthusiastic students sheepishly said, "We'll go back to studying, then." Soon, only Cordelia and her roommates remained.

The three roommates looked guilty. "Sorry, Cordelia. You didn't do anything to deserve that roast. It was our fault."

But Cordelia wasn't bothered. "It's fine."NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.

Another girl fumed, "I know her, Queenie from a competitive place. They have a high academic standard there, true, but she's over the top. She scored 295 in her exams, aiming for the IMO gold. But what's it to her what we do?"

"Right, way out of line!"

They then turned to Cordelia, awkwardly adding, "Don't stress about the test tomorrow..." Cordelia nodded, "Okay."

After showering and changing into

fresh clothes she decided to wash

her laundry a task she hadn't done since returning to the Delaney family home, where Lorna Wilson took care of such chores. Standing there washing her clothes, she realized how long it had been since she had to fend for herself like back in the orphanage.

As the water ran, her roommates thought she couldn't hear them and whispered among themselves about Queenie's prowess and Cordelia's recent activities. They worried about the outcome of tomorrow's test and how it would affect Cordelia's reputation.

But Cordelia, absorbed in her task, chose not to dwell on their concerns. Tomorrow's test would come, and she would face it, just like any other

challenge.

"Man, I'm feeling the stress for her. Once she's done with the laundry, let's all zip it and give her some space to hit the books, okay?"

"Yeah, no sleep for us tonight. We're gonna pull an all-nighter to support our very own genius in her exam prep!"

"Deal!"

The trio bumped fists, their faces alight with encouragement, completely unaware that Cordelia, with her sharp senses, had heard every word.

Cordelia: ".

Back when she was attending Greenmeadow International School as a day student, she barely interacted with her classmates. She hadn't expected these three roommates of hers to be quite so endearing.

After finishing her laundry, Cordelia strolled back into the dorm room, about to speak, when her phone buzzed. It was a call from Little Flame.
