Sandy responded, "He listens to me."
"He just said he listens to you? Nothing else?" Stella asked.
"What else should he say?"
As Stella listened to Sandy's words, she wanted to say something but felt it wouldn't make much
difference if she said it out loud. So she chose to remain silent.
However, Stella was glad that she had given Sandy a lesson earlier.
Brandon was overly doting towards Sandy, and he would do anything she asked for. Although it
seemed like a good thing, it wasn't fair to let one person make all the sacrifices in a relationship in
today's society.
The sisters talked for a long time before ending the call.
Just before hanging up, Sandy remembered something and stopped Stella, saying, "Sis, Brandon said
he'll come to Manches City tomorrow to meet you."
Upon hearing Sandy's words, Stella was momentarily stunned. "He'll come to see me?"
Sandy whispered, "I think he wants to talk to you about us."
Stella nodded and said, "I understand. Let me know when you're coming, and I'll come to pick you up
and prepare things."
"What things do you need to prepare?"
"Don't worry about that. Take care of yourself during this time."
Stella gave Sandy some instructions before hanging up the phone.
After Stella hung up, Sandy walked out of the guest room.
Brandon wasn't in the living room when Sandy went out.
She searched the room and finally found Brandon standing on the outdoor balcony.
Just as she was about to speak, Sandy heard Brandon talking on the phone. Without calling out to him,
she went up from behind and hugged him.
Brandon turned his head and glanced at Sandy, then exchanged a few words with the person on the
other end before ending the call.
"Finished?" After hanging up the phone, Brandon turned around and naturally embraced her.
Sandy nodded, then tilted her head slightly to look at Brandon. "Brandon."
"Hmm?"
"Kiss me."
Upon hearing Sandy's request, Brandon was momentarily stunned, but then he smiled affectionately
and leaned down to give her a kiss on the forehead.
Sandy raised her hand and pointed to her lips. "Here, not on my forehead."
Brandon chuckled indulgently and then lowered his head to kiss her again.
As Brandon leaned down for the kiss, Sandy tightly hooked her hand around his neck, deepening the
kiss she had requested.
When the kiss ended, Brandon's breath was slightly uneven.
Sandy looked mischievously at Brandon. "Brandon, your heart is in chaos."
Brandon chuckled softly and hugged her tighter. "Yes, it's in chaos. I can never maintain calmness in
front of you."
Sandy listened to Brandon's response and silently raised her hand to hold him even tighter.
Previously, because of Stella's situation, Sandy felt that nine out of ten men in this world were like
Luca, not good at all. So she had no desire or even a bit of inclination to date or be in a romantic
relationship. Sometimes, she even felt repulsed by it.
But after meeting Brandon, her prejudice against men had clearly changed significantly.
However, in the end, it all depended on the individual.
If it weren't for Brandon, she probably wouldn't have let go of those thoughts so quickly.
Manches City, the Lawrence Group.
Today, Zane went out with Yanis. After dropping Yanis off at the store, he drove directly to the company.
"Mr. Lawrence."
As Zane got out of the car, Albi hurriedly walked out from inside.
Zane raised an eyebrow at Albi's expression. "What's wrong?"
Albi took a step forward, walking with Zane towards the office, and said, "Mr. Dylan came over. He said
he received a call from an unknown number half an hour ago, saying that Miss Phoebe is in his hands
and demanded a ransom of five million dollars."
Upon hearing Albi's words, Zane's eyebrows furrowed. "He received a call half an hour ago? Why didn't All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
he contact me?"
Albi whispered, "The caller said not to contact you, so Mr. Dylan didn't dare to call you, fearing that his
phone might be tapped. That's why he came straight here."
Zane strode towards the elevator. "Did you investigate?"
"I've already sent someone to check, but there's no news yet."
The elevator ascended, and Zane remained silent.
Once the elevator stopped, Zane stepped out first and walked towards the direction of the office.
As soon as Zane entered the office, Dylan stood up and greeted him, "Zane."
Zane nodded. "Albi already informed me. Have you offended anyone recently?"
Dylan shook his head decisively upon hearing this. "During this period, I've been studying a pastry with
Rachel. We've been learning from the master, and I've had minimal contact with others."
After hearing Dylan's words, Zane fell silent for a moment. "Call the police."
Upon hearing this, Dylan quickly objected, "We can't call the police! They'll harm Phoebe if we do!"
Albi looked at Zane, awaiting his instructions.
"Uncle Dylan, if you don't call the police, they'll still harm Phoebe. Besides, reporting to the police will
provide some security for Phoebe. I'll handle it discreetly, and try not to spread the news," Zane
assured.
Dylan hesitated for a moment. "Is that really feasible?"
Zane didn't respond to Dylan. Instead, he turned to Albi and said in a low voice, "Prepare cash."
Albi nodded and left the office.
After Albi left, Zane looked at Dylan. "When they contact you, be ready with the money, and use a
different phone to give me their location."
Dylan nodded. "Okay."
After preparing the cash, they waited for two long hours before receiving another phone call. "Dylan!
Why did you go to Zane? Did you tell him?"
Upon hearing the voice on the other end of the line, Dylan glanced at Zane's face and whispered, "I
only came to the company to prepare some cash. He doesn't know."
"Nonsense! I clearly saw him arrive at the company!"
Dylan almost instinctively walked towards the window, hoping to look down, but realized that the height
of the floor prevented him from seeing what was happening below.
Dylan nervously swallowed. "I didn't tell him, our relationship hasn't been good. He definitely won't help
me."
As Dylan spoke, he turned back to Zane and took the pen on the table to write the word "surveillance."
Zane quickly responded by retrieving the surveillance footage from the entrance of the building on his
computer.
Dylan leaned closer to the desk, watching the surveillance footage while speaking to the other person
on the line. "Can you give me more time to prepare the money?"
