CHAPTER TWENTY ONE
“Can we talk?” I asked Dylan when I saw him standing outside with Margot.
“I will buy something,” Margot said and left.
I love her, I know I love her but she doesn’t need me anymore. I am not sure if Dylan loves her but from what I can see he is taking care of Maggie. He takes care of her and he makes her happy. He can control Maggie and I can say that she knows her more than me. They also get along and they are happier when they are together. Maggie also admitted to me that she was happier with Dylan. It’s also my fault why this happened. There is no one to blame but me.
“What do you need from me?”
“Please take care of her.” I don’t want to do this. But she didn’t need me anymore. I need to release Maggie because Dylan will take better care of her. I know everyone said that Dylan is not capable of loving someone. Even Dane told me that Dylan loves to play and he doesn’t care about women. There was only one he took seriously and appreciated.
Maggie.
And the way I saw him taking care of Maggie, I know that Maggie is important to him. I will never be with him because we are not friends. But he’s the kind of person who doesn’t care about others. But what I see in his treatment of Maggie is very different.
“Let me guess you didn’t know she was pregnant?” I did not answer. I looked at him smiling at me.
“That’s not important right now. I just want to say that please take care of her.”
“Your child isn’t important to you? You want me to beat you till death?”Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
“I want to talk to you to say that I will leave her. That’s what she wants, so, I am asking you to please take care of her.”
“Maggie was right, she made a mistake in loving you and you didn’t really love her.”
“That’s not true, I loved Maggie and —-”
“Leave now before I could beat you and you go home crippled. And you don’t have to tell me what I should do to Maggie. You’re not in her life yet she’s important to me.” He leaves and goes inside.
Am I wrong? I just want them to be happy because that’s what she wants. Is it wrong for me to leave her?
I left the hospital not knowing where I would end up.
I found myself in BCC drinking. I only want to be really happy and then the triple pain took that happiness from me. I just want to be happy with Maggie. I want her but I ended up alone.
“Hi, would you mind if I join you?” A woman approached me and sat beside me.
“I’m married.” I wasted no time looking at her.
“Ow, it’s challenging.” I drank a glass of beer then addressed the woman.
“Remember my face, the next time you will approach me you will be banned from this bar.” And I left her. If even before I hadn’t slept with a woman. What’s more now that I have a loved one. Fuck, better I will play myself with the palm. I exited the bar and drove to where. It’s like I just want to crash my car.
“Fuck!” I scream. “Fuck this fucking life!” I thought when you cry the pain goes away. The problem will disappear. But it’s still there and your throat just hurts.
I reached the hospital where Maggie was. I want to go inside and visit her. I want to tell her that whatever she wants me to do I will make it so she will just come back. I want to get her back from that fucking Dylan. I want her back with me.
I cried inside the car. I’m just thinking that I’m going to lose her forever, I feel like I’m going to die. I know it’s my fault why this happened because I let her go. She was not at fault after all because she did not know that the marriage was fake. But because I was stupid, I blamed her and spoke to her harshly. I deserve what happens to me.
My phone rang and I saw Dane’s number.
“Yeah?”
[“Where are you?”]
“Why?”
[“I asked you, where are you?”]
“What do you need, Dane?”
[“Jace said you went to BCC and leave drunk. Are you home?”]
“No.”
[“What the hell are you doing? Where the hell are you?”]
“Somewhere.”
[“Blaze!”]
“Goodnight, Dane.” My cellphone crashed at the same time as I lost consciousness.
I WAS HOLDING on my head aching in excruciating pain. “Argh,”
“Oh, the idiot is awake.”
“Is it ok, Dane, if I will kill this sucker?”
“I’m going home and the rambunctious one is awake. Maybe Hailey needs me now.”
“Me too and Margot is acting crazy again.”
“I’ll stay with you here, Dane, so we can settle this sucker together.”
I looked at them and looked around. Am I here at Dane’s house? Shit, I lost consciousness in the car.
“What, I have a rope you want?” Dane asked annoyed.
Jace and Phoenix left. I saw Zeus go to the kitchen and did something and when he came back he was carrying a mug.
“Oh, hang-over removal.” He reached out to me. “There’s a poison on that so you will die quickly.”
“What happened?” I ask. “How did I get here?”
“We were looking for you when Jace told you to leave BCC drunk. But Dylan called me and said that he saw your car outside the hospital. We go there and saw you unconscious inside the car. Better that the engine is on if not you will suffocate in your foolishness. ”
“Your car glass broke because Jace broke it so we could get you. What happened?” I hold my head. What happened? my life is ruined because the woman I love doesn’t want to come back.
“Maggie doesn’t want me anymore.”
The door opens then Jace and Phoenix enter.
“Why did you come back?” Zeus ask.
“I’ve asked Hailey’s permission. I need to sympathize with this idiot.”
“I fought Margot to get back here. What’s the update on this crazy thing?”
“Maggie doesn’t want him,” Zeus answered and I remained quiet.
“Blaze, give her some space. I think she needs that,” Phoenix suggested.
“Wow, coming from you that didn’t give Hailey space,” Jace said.
“Stupid, no space demanded then, she asked for an annulment.”
“Ow, I see.” I feel someone tap my shoulder so I looked up. It’s Jace. “Blaze, it’s too painful what happened to you. You hurt her, you hurt, you got into trouble and then your baby affected by what happened to you. Maybe, Phoenix is right, give her space. When everything is healed then you can start again. And at least this time you have feelings to start with.”
“Nice advice, sucker, why wouldn’t you try it with Margot? So you don’t regret it later.”
“Wew, scene stealer. Blaze is the topic here not me.”
“Just saying, sucker.”
“Blaze.” Dane sat beside me and took my hand. “Everything will gonna be ok. You have us and we will never leave you. As of now, fix yourself and don’t worry about Maggie. Dylan will take care of her.”
“‘Shouldn’t that be Blaze?’ Phoenix stared at Jace.
“You know, Jace, sometimes you’re ok. Mostly, you’re not,” Phoenix said.
“Blaze, as of now, you can do nothing but to set her free,” Dane added so I look at them. Everyone nods agreeing to Dane.
I have no choice. She’s the one who doesn’t want to so what can I do? It hurts but I have to accept that we’re done already. There is a point and I will start again on my own.
