Chapter 52

It’s been five hours since Gina slumped and fell unconscious, and the triplets were getting restless as to what might have happened to their mate.

The doctors were yet to say what may have led to her sudden unconscious state, as all the tests they have conducted on her so far prove that she is in a perfect state of health.

While Gina was unconscious in the hospital bed, news quickly spread around the palace and the pack that she was dead.

Her parents were the first to arrive at the packed clinic, and they were told by the triplet that while she was unconscious, the doctors had yet to decipher what the problem was.

Gina’s parents were mystified as to what may have happened to their daughter. The triplet, however, assured them that they were doing all they could to ensure that she was fine.

They would have even transferred her to a different medical facility if not for the Pack Clinic’s being up-to-date with all the medical equipment needed to treat any type of illness.

Gwen was pleased when she got the news; she knew that Gina’s sudden health condition must be a result of Anesi’s charms.

She knew it was just a matter of time before the news of Gina’s death spread. And she could hardly wait.

She couldn’t help but picture the triplets coming to her to beg for her forgiveness and her disposing of them all right after she because of the Luna.

But not wanting it to appear that she didn’t care, that evening she quickly got dressed and went to the packed clinic to visit Gina and the triplet.

Seeing the sad faces made her heart leap with happiness, and on getting there, she met with the triplets at the reception.

She pretended to be sad and teary, and even though the triplet didn’t pay her any attention, the pack members who were around to see her display her show of affection were greatly touched.

They felt it must be nice for her to be so bothered about someone she competed with.

She asked to see Gina, and even though Denver never wanted her anywhere close to her, he couldn’t do much to stop her from going to see her. His mind was a little at rest knowing that Gina’s new maid would be in the room with her.

When Gwen entered the room, she looked around and found nobody else. Her sad face gradually faded into an evil smile. Her heart danced for joy as she watched Gina helplessly lying on the bed with various machines and injections fixed on her.

She walked up to her bedside and bent down to whisper into Gina’s ear.

“I can’t wait to hear the news of your death, dumb fat a*s. And I hope you die painfully for daring to take what is mine. And don’t worry, your triplets will be joining you too, right after they make me their Luna,” she said despite fully to an unconscious Gina.

Her eyes instinctively went to one of the drips that were fixed on Gina. Making sure that no one was around, she stopped the injection from entering Gina’s veins.

To her surprise, nothing happened. She attempted to stop the second one, and just then, she felt someone’s presence behind her. She turned to see that it was Lucia standing still.

Behind her.

She gasps out of horror as fear grips her, but she nervously tries to hide her fear behind a crooked smile.

“Do you need something, mistress?” Lucia asked innocently, with a blank expression.

“No, I only came to see how she was doing and…” Gwen answered while subconsciously taking uneasy steps away from Gina’s bed.

Did your father doubt my competency in getting the job done and set you to come to finish it in my place? Lucia questioned a now-more relaxed Gwen.

“No, not at all,” Gwen was saying when Age was interrupted by Lucia.

“Why did you come to see her?” Lucia asked.

“I didn’t want anyone to suspect that I was behind any of these, but just to let you know, I like your method. This way, nobody is ever going to think that my father had anything to do with her death,” Gwen said to Lucia.

I am glad you see it that way. Now listen, tell your father he should remember his promise. Only when he fulfills his end of the bargain will this job be completed,” Lucia said to Gwen.

“I will, and I am sure he is already working on it, Gwen said confidently to Lucia before walking out of the room.

As soon as the door closed, Lucia walked over to Gina’s bedside and stared at her for some time before disappearing into thin air.

Later that night, the triplets gathered in Denver to discuss the possible cause of Gina’s illness and what they could do to help her snap out of it.

“What do you think is happening with Gina?” Devon asked Denver while they were seated in his room.

Denver was getting ready to go and spend the night in the hospital, and even though Gina’s mother assured him that she wouldn’t be leaving her daughter’s side, he was adamant about waiting to spend the night with her.

Despite Derrick and Devon feeling bad about the condition of their mate, they could not imagine themselves spending the night at the hospital.

There was no comfortable place to sleep, and since Denver had also agreed to go, they decided to stay back, so they could take turns in the morning to spend time with her.

“I have no idea,” Denver answered sternly.

“Do you think she will be alright?” Devon asked again, his voice calm and a little sad.

“She has to,” Denver replied while throwing on his black leather jacket.

Once he was ready, he went out of the palace and headed straight to the packed clinic.

It didn’t take him long to get there; he went straight to the room where Gina was admitted and found her mother sleeping on the chair she was sitting on.

He walked over to where she was, gently tapped her, and asked her to go and sleep in one of the VIP rooms attached to the ward they were in.

Gina’s mom tried convincing him that she was fine and that she could cope, but he was adamant, and after some time, Gina’s mother gave in and went to sleep in the spare room.

Now alone with his mate, he decided to speak his mind to her. He told her how much he loved her and how much she meant to him.

He also told her that, though he knew he was not the best lover, he was going to be. Do his best to ensure she gets all the love and attention she truly deserves.

When he was done, he stood up from the chair to place a k**s on Gina’s forehead.

And despite wanting to stay awake all through the night, his eyes were becoming heavier by the minute.

Gradually, he slept off, resting his head on the wall. Not long after that, Lucia appeared from nowhere and watched them sleep for a while.

At the wave of her hand, Gina suddenly gasps and opens her eyes.
