Gina, And Her Triplet Alphas

Chapter 51

Gina.

A deep sense of relief eluded my lips as soon as Denver drove his car into our pack borders.

It felt good to come back home.

Even though I truly enjoyed my vacation with my triplet mates, I missed my parents and was eager to see them.

I had earlier pleaded with Denver to first and foremost take me to see them before taking me back to the palace.

There was this silent part of me that wanted to be certain that my parents were okay.

As we drove towards my home, I couldn’t contain my happiness, and once the car stopped. I ran out to go see my mom and dad, who were equally happy to see me.

It was a happy reunion for us, and anyone seeing our happiness would think that I had been away for so long.

We exchanged pleasantries, and I brought out the things I had specifically bought for them.

My triplet mates were not exactly sure how to flow freely with my parents, but my father tried his best to make them feel comfortable by ensuring that they were given fresh juice they had previously stored in the fridge.

Seeing so much happiness in my parents made my coming home all worth it. And when my mother got the opportunity, she pulled me aside to ask about my welfare and everything that was happening around me.

I assured her I was fine and that she needed not to be worried about anything.

Even though deep down I knew I had just lied to her, I was the farthest thing from being fine.

Yes, the vacation took my mind off everything that has happened in recent times, but being back here again brings it all back.

No day goes by without me thinking about who might have sent those apples that killed Joy, and the fact that no one has been held accountable yet makes it even more terrifying for me.NôvelDrama.Org owns this.

It was clear that those apples were meant for me, which means that the person was still going to try to harm me if they got the slightest opportunity.

Anytime I brought up the topic, my triplet mates always assured me that I should not worry about it and that they would protect me.

The truth is, I don’t feel safe going back to the palace. I have even thought of the possibility of Gwen being the one who sent the apples since she was the only one I could say for sure had some sort of grievance against me.

But the fact that Joy mentioned that it was sent by one of the pack members puts her out of my suspicion box.

Going back to that palace means that I will be by myself, and I don’t know if that is a good thing or not.

One thing I am certain of was that I do not want anyone in my space, at least not until someone is held accountable for the poisoned apples.

My mood immediately turned sour as those thoughts kept flooding my mind.

“Babe, why don’t you take us around and show us your room?” Denver, who has been talking with my dad along with his brothers, said the moment he found me outside talking with my mom.

“No, I don’t want to, and I am still busy with my mom,” I said to him in a not-so-friendly tone.

My mother is surprised to hear me say no to him, as she quickly made to apologize to him on my behalf.

But she was stopped by him.

You see, my parents were still trying to get used to the fact that I was mated to the triplet alphas.

And being that they once considered them their masters, it is a little difficult for them to see the triplets as my mates.

“I’m sorry, ma’am; if you don’t mind, I would like to talk with my mate,” Denver said to my mother, who immediately excused herself, not without giving me a pity stare.

“What’s up with you?” He said it coldly as he took slow steps closer to where I was until we could almost taste each other’s breath.

“Nothing,” I said while trying to move away from him and the sweet scent that was tempting me to hold on tight to him. But his hand quickly grabbed me and pulled me closer to him.

“Something is troubling you; what did your mom say to you?” he questioned in an icy voice.

“Nothing; she just asked if I was okay,” I answered, avoiding looking at him in the face.

“And what did you say to her?” he asked, as his eyes searched mine.

“I told her I was fine,” I answered.

“Are you?” he questioned.

“I don’t know,” I said, heaving out a deep breath.

“What is it?” he calmly asked.

“I am scared,” I admitted.

“Of what?” He questioned calmly

“That the person that sent those apples might want to come back and hurt me?” I said

“And what do you want me to do about that?” he asked

“I don’t know; I just wish the person was caught and justice was served. I can’t imagine how joy must be feeling in her grave, knowing that the person who killed her is still roaming free,” I said, fighting hard to keep my emotions in check.

“So, you are scared because you think we can’t protect you?”

“No, I know you can protect me, but who are you protecting me from? We don’t even know who this person is,” I said.

“I have my suspicions, but I do not have any evidence yet,” he said, and I instinctively looked at him.

“Who are you talking about?” I questioned him, searching his eyes.

“You know her. To me, Gwen and her father are the only ones with a good motive to want to harm you. And somehow, I do believe that Samuel is connected in a way,” he said.

I wasn’t surprised that he mentioned Gwen, but hearing Samuel mention her is something I wasn’t prepared for.

“Samuel? What makes you think so?” I asked.

“I have been thinking of why Gwen would want Samuel to be killed, and the only reason I keep getting is the fact that she wanted to eradicate all evidence tracing her to the crime that was committed,” he said.

“I don’t think Samuel would have done it unless, of course, he was tricked into it,” I said in Samuel’s defense.

“Exactly. That was the reason I let him go because even if he confessed, no one would believe him. It will be his words against hers, and you know the odds will not be in his favor. So for now, I will suggest you don’t go anywhere without letting us know your whereabouts. We are going to fish out the person who killed Joy; it may take a little time, but we will. And when we do, justice will be served, okay?” He asked, staring into my eyes.

“Yeah,” I answered, nodding my head.

“We should get you home; you need to rest,” he said, holding my hand and leading me to the sitting room.

Derrick and Devon were busy eating a muffin made by my dad when we entered our sitting room, but as soon as they saw my countenance, they got up and rushed toward us.

“Is she alright?” Devon questioned Denver with concern.

“Yeah, we need to get her home; she is tired,” Denver replied to his brothers.

“I thought we agreed to check out her room before we leave?” Derrick questioned.

I subconsciously looked at Denver to explain what Derrick meant by ‘they agreed.”

“Yeah,” he said, nervously running his hand through his hair.

“We just wanted to see your room and see how we could fix it up in case there was ever any need,” he lied.

I know he lied because of how nervous he was and how he kept stealing glances at my parents.

I wonder what they all had in mind.

“Thank you so much; we will be on our way now,” he said to my parents before leading me out of the room.

We all got into the car after bidding my parents goodbye, and within minutes we were already packed in front of my apartment.

What I did not expect, however, was for my apartment door to be opened and for a young girl dressed in a maid costume to walk out.

“You are welcome, mistress,” she said to me as soon as I came down from the car.

To say I was surprised would be an understatement. Who is she? How did she get the keys to my apartment? and loads of other questions flooded my mind.

The triplets, on seeing her, got down from the car to position themselves beside me.

“Who are you?” Denver questioned her.

My name is Lucia, and I am her new maid,” she said, lifting her face to look at me with her sharp, piercing gray eyes, and at that moment I completely lost control of myself.

I felt like I had been hypnotized; I couldn’t move, and I felt myself getting weaker with each passing second. All I did was stare into her eyes.

“I like her,” I heard myself say.

“You don’t even know her, and remember when you said you didn’t want a new maid yet?” Denver said, trying to get me to look at him, but Lucia’s words stopped him from doing so.

“Oh, I was appointed by the alpha king, and I am sure she is going to enjoy having me as her maid,” Lucia said with a pretty innocent smile before returning her eyes to me.

The next thing I knew was that I felt my legs were becoming too weak to carry the weight of my body. I felt so lightheaded, and before I knew what was next, my body was slowly shutting out until I felt two hands catch me from falling on the hard floor.

“Gina!” I heard my mates scream as they shook my body.
