Chapter 1233
Chapter 1233
"I'm going to count to three, and if you don't leave, I'll kick you out," Rosalie warned.
Blake just gave her a side-eye, doubting her words. "I don't think you will."
Rosalie replied calmly, "I've taken karate classes. That little slap was nothing compared to what I can really do."
Blake's smile froze. Only a tiny bit of her power?
He could still feel where she slapped him, and it hurt. He realized Rosalie was not someone to mess with. If
a small slap was just a tiny show of her strength, a kick would hurt a lot more.
Blake started sweating. "Maybe we can talk this out?"
"There's nothing to talk about," she said firmly.
Blake looked sad. "But this is my only request."
"Good. Then you have nothing." She began to count, starting at the end. "Three."
"Hold on, I think there's still room for discussion."
"No. Two."
"But my face really hurts."
"One."
Blake dramatically lay on the floor. "Fine, I'll just stay here then. If you want to hit me, go ahead."
Rosalie ground her teeth. "Do you want to feel more pain?"
Seeing how she was going to explode, he quickly stood up. "Alright, alright, I'll go."
As he walked away, Rosalie felt a bit of pity for him, which annoyed her. 'Feeling sorry for a man is bad luck,' she thought.
But then, a bunch of people came in as Blake reached the door, and they talked briefly. Blake gave Rosalie a weird smile afterward, and the people left.
Rosalie couldn't hear what they said and, seeing his smile, she asked, "What was that about?"Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Blake stretched out on the sofa. "Just some trouble."
"What kind of trouble?" she pressed, frowning.
"I might need to stay here for a while."
"Why?" Rosalie was confused.
Blake shrugged. "The situation out there is getting bad, and they're saying we should stay inside," he explained.
"Starting now?"
"Right now."
Rosalie placed her hand on her forehead, looking distraught. "But I have to go to work."
"With things how they are, you shouldn't," Blake said casually. "I'll talk to Pearl. No one's going to the office now."
Rosalie wasn't pleased.
"Why aren't you happy about not working? That means you can relax at home." Blake didn't get it. "Why does that bother you?"
"You can never understand what it's like for regular people, Mister Blake."
