Chapter 919: You Must Have Wrong Thoughts
Vivian’s hand hung stiffly in midair.
Alf Hicks fastened his own seatbelt and saw Vivian looking lost. He knew exactly what this woman was thinking.
“I remember Mr. Russo particularly liked the roasted goose from Nan City. He works so hard, if you buy it and send it over to him, he would definitely be very happy.”
Vivian’s eyes immediately brightened at hearing this.
Yes, if she showed care to Orion, he would surely have a favorable impression of her.
But…
“Can’t we get it from elsewhere? Nan City is too far, it will take half a day just to go there and back,” Vivian said.
Alf Hicks thought to himself that even if it was close by, she would still find some excuse.
Commissioned by Orion to keep an eye on Vivian, he wanted to send her away to prevent any mischief.
He deliberately said this to drive Vivian away!
Vivian hesitated.
“Can you help me buy it? I was entrusted by General Shen to assist with cleaning here…”
Alf Hicks narrowed his eyes, put away his carefree demeanor, and said, “What, do you think I have nothing better to do and can help you with this kind of thing? Do you think you’re so beautiful that you can easily order men around?”
Vivian’s face flushed. “What nonsense are you spouting? I never…”
“Do you or do you not know what’s in your own heart?” Alf Hicks smirked, leaning in closer to her ear. “I’ve seen many women like you, throwing themselves at men. Your methods are too basic, I can see right through them. I prefer women with more modesty, understand?”
Vivian bit her lip, she would never admit to being a woman who throws herself at men.
“I’m not telling you, you don’t understand me!” After saying that, she walked out.
Alf Hicks watched her leave the gate.
He took out his phone and called Orion.
The call was quickly answered, and his first words were, “Are you out of your mind? Knowing she has improper intentions, why keep her around? Just fire her and be done with it.”
Orion also wanted to just fire her.
The reason he didn’t do it was because he wanted Luna to speak up to him on her own.
So even after knowing Vivian had improper intentions, he still let her come over.
“I think you’re twisted in your mind,” Alf Hicks scoffed. “She asked you to get rid of Vivian, what use does that have for you?”
Orion fell silent.
He didn’t want Luna to be so distant towards him.
Right now, apart from stars, it was as if she didn’t care about anything else.
She could make peace with anything.
Even if she got the short end of the stick, she wouldn’t say a soft word to him.
Like when Vivian took her room by force.
If she said she disagreed, he would have immediately kicked Vivian out.
But she didn’t.
This made him very uncomfortable.
Very upset.
“Keep a close eye on her,” Orion said.
Alf Hicks coldly snorted, “Are you treating me like a servant?”
Orion said, “Alright, stop yakking, I don’t have time.”
Alf Hicks knew he was busy, and promised tasks were always completed by him. “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it for you.”
Orion responded with an “Hmm” before hanging up.
Alf Hicks tidied up the chaotic kitchen, and by the time Luna came out, there was no trace of burnt smell.
“Can I go check on the stars?” Alf Hicks asked.
Luna blocked the door with her body. “The stars are already asleep, it’s better not to disturb them at this time.”
Stars tended to wake up easily. In case they got startled, it wouldn’t be good.
Plus, she didn’t know much about this man in front of her, so she was cautious about letting him near the stars.
To strangers, she would always be careful.
“Very dedicated indeed…” Alf Hicks chuckled.
If Orion hadn’t mentioned his identity as a childcare worker, he might have genuinely believed this was just a responsible childcare worker.
Luna was not keen on talking to others and went to the kitchen to wash the child’s items.
“What would you like for lunch?”
“What?” Luna looked at Alf Hicks in confusion. Why did this man always speak so suddenly and unpredictably?
Leaving her to question his intentions.
“Vivian can’t cook. I’m guessing you’re not very good at it either…” Or else she wouldn’t have let Vivian cause chaos in the kitchen…
Luna remained silent, knowing that Lily would return later.
Seeing this, Alf Hicks didn’t continue to press her.
“I’ll cook lunch, just tell me what you want.”
Luna didn’t expect Alf Hicks to know how to cook and was pondering when he began to explain.
“Despite looking like a single man, my culinary skills are not bad. Just so you know, I’m still single, and there aren’t many high-quality men like me. Miss Silverton, do you have a boyfriend? If not, would you like to get to know me?”
Luna was very repelled by this kind of flirtatious behavior.
Her brows furrowed.
She finished disinfecting the room’s sterilization cabinet and left the kitchen.
Alf Hicks, however, continued to ask her, “What do you want to eat?”
“I’m not picky.”
After saying this, Luna completely disappeared from his sight.
Alf Hicks knew Luna viewed him as a villain.
Did he really look that idle?
“I’m not a bad person. If I were, Orion wouldn’t have allowed me here. You don’t need to be so guarded all the time, being wary of this and that, aren’t you tired?”
Luna scrunched her brows. “You said you wanted to be decent, right? Then go ahead and be, I don’t see you as a villain.”
Alf Hicks said, “Why do I get the feeling you’re just trying to brush me off?”
Luna replied, “No, I just don’t like talking to people.”
Alf Hicks sighed. “Fine.”
Who made him agree to this?
Luna stayed in her room, keeping an eye on the stars.
After about an hour, Alf Hicks came to call her for lunch.
“I’m not hungry,” Luna said.
Alf Hicks’s face fell. “Do you really see me as a bad person?”
He was genuinely upset.
Luna glanced at the stars, who were sound asleep.
She didn’t want any unpleasantness.
So she got up, walked out, and gently closed the door.
Only then did Alf Hicks’s expression soften slightly.
“Scoop yourself some rice.”
Luna nodded, and only after Alf Hicks had taken a bite did she take a spoonful of rice.
“Orion and I get along well, he’s just worried about you, which is why he asked me to come,” Alf Hicks offered to help.
Someone had to take the first step forward, otherwise, there would never be any progress.
Luna lowered her head. “He’s worried I can’t take care of the stars, right?”
“If he didn’t trust you with the stars, he wouldn’t have hired you. He knows you’ll take good care of the stars,” Alf Hicks said. “Let me tell you, Orion is still single, he has money, you could completely seduce him and make him your husband.”
Luna’s expression immediately turned cold. “I have no improper intentions.”
Alf Hicks said, “You can have improper intentions. He would happily welcome it. You must have improper intentions.”
Luna said, “… not at all, I simply don’t have any intentions.”
Alf Hicks raised his hands in surrender. “Alright.”
Who made him agree to this?
Luna stayed in her room, keeping an eye on the stars.
Toward the end of the hour, Alf Hicks came to call her for lunch.
“I’m not hungry,” Luna said.

“I’m not hungry,” Luna said.
After Alf Hicks took a bite, Luna finally scooped herself some rice.
“Orion and I have a good relationship, he’s just worried about your care, that’s why he sent me,” Alf Hicks wanted to help.
Someone had to take one step ahead for there to be a progress.
Luna kept her head low, “He’s worried about my care for the stars, right?”
“If he wasn’t worried about your care for the stars, he wouldn’t have hired you. He knows you’d take care of the stars well,” Alf Hicks responded. “Let me tell you, Orion’s still single, has money, you could definitely flirt with him, make him your husband.”

Luna retorted, “… no, I simply don’t have any intentions.”
Alf Hicks raised his hands in defeat. “Alright.”
Who made him agree to this?
Luna stayed in her room, keeping an eye on the stars.
After an hour, Alf Hicks approached her to have lunch.
“I’m not hungry,” Luna stated.

After Alf Hicks ate, Luna eventually picked up some rice.Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
