You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 298 A Solution

Evan sighed and helplessly said, “Everyone, please leave.”

Perhaps at this moment, it would be good to let Elijah calm down.

All the medical staff filed out, orderly and in procession. Sivin Peters dared not speak to Elijah, so he could only remind Evan, “The patient has already passed away. It’s not good to leave her here like this. We need to quickly send her to the morgue.”

Evan understood what the doctor meant. He had the same concerns and hoped to send them to the morgue as soon as possible, fearful that Elijah wouldn’t be able to move on.

“I’ll try.” Evan said.

Sivin Peters lowered his gaze and said, “Thank you.”

Evan felt confused by about Sivin Peters’s thanks; this was his responsibility after all.

After driving everyone away, Elijah stood alone in front of the operating table. Everything around him seemed to freeze. It felt like he was the only person left in the whole world. Evan could only wait anxiously outside. He didn’t dare to enter easily.

From dawn till dusk, several hours had passed. Elijah still hadn’t come out. Evan was getting more and more anxious outside. At this moment, Xander came over to ask him, “How is the situation?”

Evan looked at him, his eyes red. He hoarsely told Xander about Freya being killed in the explosion. Xander also struggled to accept it for a moment. “How did this happen? Wasn’t everything prepared? How did an accident still occur?…”

How would Elijah face it?

“He drove everyone out and is still in the surgery. No one dares to disturb him.” Explained Evan.

“Can’t go on like this.” Xander said.

Evan also knew that, but was there any other way now?

Xander sat on the bench, constantly scratching his head, distressed. “What are we going to do?”

Evan had no ideas at this point either.

“But are the kid and Elowen okay?” asked Evan. Their safety could at least give him some peace of mind.

Evan’s words seemed to remind Xander, and he suddenly looked up. “I have a solution.”

“What solution?” Evan asked.

“Besides Freya, he still has other family members.” Xander said.

Evan also realized, “You mean Kai?”

“Yeah, Kai is his own flesh and blood. Even if he’s heartbroken and finding it difficult to move on from Freya’s death, can he ignore his own child?” Xander said.

Evan thought it made sense, but he had concerns. “This is a hospital. Is it okay to have Kai so close to the deceased?”

“But the deceased is not just anyone. Our main task now is to help him move on from Freya’s death.” Xander said.

Evan thought about it and agreed, “Let’s do it now.”

“I’ll bring Kai over,” Xander said.

“Okay, you go. I’ll stay here.”

Xander left and returned an hour later with the child. Kai had been frightened from being captured this time, and he cried for a long time before Elowen managed to soothe him to sleep. He was still asleep now, but it was a restless sleep. Occasionally, he would whimper and seemed ready to wake up at any moment.

“You go in,” Xander said.

At this moment, Xander didn’t dare to get too close to Elijah. He was the most skilled at hiding.

In order to help Elijah regain his composure, Evan said, “I’ll go in.”

Xander said, “We rely on you in crucial moments.”

Evan glared at him fiercely, “You’re just a coward. Whenever something happens, it’s always me who takes charge, isn’t it?”

Xander said, “The capable ones should do more.”

“Damn it,” Evan muttered irritably. He took a deep breath and walked in with Kai, but before he even reached the doorway, Elijah scolded, “Get out!”

Kai was startled awake by the voice and started crying in fear.

“Waah… Mama…”

Evan was completely at a loss, rocking the child back and forth. “Baby, don’t cry.”

“… Mama…”

Evan, who had never taken care of a child before, was very awkward in his movements, and the more the child cried, the more frantic he became. Soon, he was sweating profusely. “What do we do now?”

“Kai is crying so loudly, he must be able to hear it, but he still won’t come out. Does he not want his own child anymore because of Freya?” said Xander.

“Maybe he’s just finding it really hard to accept for now.” Said Evan.

“When Joan Nash died, he was also upset, but he didn’t act like this…”

“It’s different,” Evan interrupted Xander. “Joan Nash died in his life over a decade ago, and their feelings had faded. In this brief time when he thought Freya was dead, how much of their bond could still remain? But Freya is different. She was the first woman he loved.”

One could say that Evan’s analysis was quite insightful. Xander thought Evan’s analysis made sense, but now the key was to help Elijah regain his composure. He paced anxiously in the hallway.

“Kai has cried himself hoarse, and he still won’t come out to see. Doesn’t he care about the part of Freya that flows through his own child’s veins?” Xander complained.

Suddenly, Evan made a decision. “I have an idea!”This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
