You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 288 Completely Annoyed

Haley handed a thick envelope to the man.

“Keep your mouth shut,” Haley whispered, her tone carrying a hint of threat.Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

The man felt the thickness of the envelope in his hand and smiled satisfactorily, “Don’t worry, I won’t blabber.”

Haley looked around, making sure no one was there, and pressed down on the brim of her hat, “I’m leaving, and don’t ever contact me again.”

The man chuckled, “Alright, but keep in mind, if there’s another job that pays this well, you can still find me.”

Haley didn’t refuse, “Rest assured, I’ll continue to do business with you, as long as you keep your mouth shut. Payment is never an issue.”

“Trust me, my mouth is sealed with super glue. Are you satisfied with this arrangement?” the man asked.

Haley nodded, her goal achieved. She had arranged for the banner hanging outside the building, making it appear as if Luna was involved. This would create a rift between Orion and Luna, further fueling Mrs Russo’s dislike for Luna. From the current results, the effect was good. Combined with the morning incident, it was clear that Mrs Russo’s aversion towards Luna had reached its peak. And no one would suspect that Haley Holt was behind all this. After all, it was her wedding. Who would suspect the bride? The one under suspicion was naturally Orion’s “girlfriend.”

“If you have any future business, contact me through someone.” The man said.

Haley nodded. They wouldn’t communicate via phone, and even if they exchanged money, it wouldn’t go through the bank. This way, there would be no trace of their transactions.

The man counted the money as he walked away, a contented smile on his face.

Freya was shocked by what she saw. The person on the banner was actually Haley. It was her own wedding!

Did she tarnish her own wedding?

What was her purpose?

To frame Luna?

Freya felt a chill just thinking about it. Haley was so scheming. It was a complete contrast to her appearance. Or rather, her appearance was too deceptive. With such an innocent and doll-like face, she could do such calculating things. Indeed, looks could be deceiving.

Freya secretly resolved to be more cautious in her interactions with Haley Holt in the future. She adjusted her mood and went to the supermarket to buy a lot of things.

Back at the Stones’ residence, she got out of the car with a big bag of things. She carried it into the house. But there was no one at home so she called her mother.

“I’m taking Kai for a walk outside, we’ll be back soon.” Elowen said.

Freya hummed in response and hung up the phone. She put away the things she bought in the fridge. And she started stewing her nourishing soup. After putting the ingredients in the crockpot, simmering on low heat, she lay down on the sofa in the living room to rest. In a daze, she heard her phone ringing. She grabbed the phone and answered.

It was Deck’s voice on the other end.

Freya rubbed her eyes and regained her clarity, “What’s up?”

“Yes, the old master wants you to come to the old mansion.” Deck said.

Freya frowned. They had already reached such a point with Elijah, and they still had the audacity to ask her. Did they forget that she was on Elijah’s side?

“I’m busy with work, I don’t have time,” she directly refused.

“I heard you were off today?” Deck clearly had come looking for her.

Freya’s heart skipped a beat when she realized Deck hadn’t investigated her. Her annoyance grew, but she maintained a cool demeanor, saying, “I didn’t go to work because I’m sick, so I can make my way there.”

“If you’re not feeling well, the old master can send someone and a car to pick you up.” Deck persisted, as if he wouldn’t give up until Freya went to the old mansion.

Were they going to play hardball?

Knowing their determination, Freya had no choice but to push it onto Elijah, “If you have something, go directly to Elijah.”

“You’re Elijah’s wife and a member of the Silverton family, so if the Silverton family has something going on, you need to be involved, unless your husband’s last name isn’t Silverton.”

That line about her husband not being named Silverton completely infuriated Freya. It was the first time she had heard Deck speak so rudely.

“Since I’m also a part of the Silverton family, then you, as a butler, is this how you speak to the mistress of the house? If you want me to return to the old mansion, you can leave the Silverton family instead!”

After saying that, she hung up the phone. Her anger hadn’t faded yet.

The doorbell suddenly rang. It was probably Elowen returning with Kai. Freya put on her slippers and went to open the door. But when the door opened, she didn’t see her mother.

“Why are you here?”
