You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 286 Birds of a Feather

“We were together, but what business is it of yours?” Zane retorted coldly.

Freya grabbed him and said, “Shut your mouth.” His words were only going to make Mrs Russo misunderstand.

Mrs Russo already didn’t like Luna, and now Zane was speaking out of turn. She might think Luna was some kind of loose woman.

But Zane refused to back down. He said, “It’s the truth. I’m not lying. Why hide it?”

Mrs Russo sarcastically sneered, “Indeed, you have no manners. But it’s for the best. You and Orion can be done with each other. Now that Orion is married, I don’t want you to disturb him anymore. From now on, you are not allowed to appear in front of him. As for the incident with the banner, I won’t pursue it with you.”

“Hey, can’t you understand plain words? I already said it wasn’t Luna who hung it. She was with me the whole time. I can vouch for her.” Zane insisted. He felt that Mrs Russo was bullying them, and he was indignant.

“You can vouch for her?” Mrs Russo sneered, “You’re just speaking up for her everywhere. Your testimony is nothing more than perjury.” She added disdainfully, “Birds of a feather flock together. People of a certain kind tend to associate with each other.”

“What did you say?” Zane immediately got angry. Freya pulled him back. If it wasn’t for Freya holding him back, he would have wanted to go forward and hit someone.

Luna couldn’t hold back any longer. Mrs Russo’s remarks about her didn’t bother her, but when she started talking about her friends, she couldn’t tolerate it.

“It’s me that you don’t like, and if you have any complaints, direct them at me. Please refrain from using hurtful words against others.” Said Luna.

“Did I say something wrong? If you had manners, would you spend a night at a bar with a man? I won’t waste any more words on you. Stay away from Orion. This is my final warning. If you don’t listen…”

“I will stay far away from him. You don’t need to remind me over and over again. As for the banner…” She originally wanted to say that it wasn’t her who hung it. But when she saw Orion and Haley not far away, she changed her mind, “I hung the banner.”

“Humph, just as I thought,” Mrs Russo raised her eyebrows smugly, “Because of you, the Holt family is displeased, and you have brought shame to my family. You will pay the price for your wrongdoings.” With that, she rolled up the car window and signaled the driver to go.

Freya furrowed her brow, “It wasn’t you, why did…”

At that moment, she also saw Orion and Haley.

“How did they come here?” Freya seemed to understand why Luna had intentionally implicated her earlier. It must have been because she saw Orion.

“I know it wasn’t you.” Orion walked over and looked at her.

Luna smirked, “It was me.”

Orion frowned. “Why would you do this?”

Luna laughed, “Because I dislike you?”

Haley Holt tightly clung to Orion’s arm, deliberately speaking up to prevent too much interaction between Orion and Luna. Understanding the situation, she said, “I know you didn’t mean it, neither Orion nor I blame you.”

Luna found it ridiculous, “Do I need your forgiveness? Who do you think you are?!” After saying that, she turned around. “Freya, let’s go.”

Freya glanced at Orion, sighed deeply, and pulled Zane away.

“That guy can’t seriously believe that the banner was really hung by Luna, right?” Zane fumed. “If he believes it, he doesn’t deserve Luna’s affection. He doesn’t even have this bit of trust and understanding?”

Luna turned to look at Zane. “You’re absolutely right.”

If there wasn’t even this bit of trust, could it still be called love? This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

“Alright, let’s go back quickly,” Freya said. Zane tended to speak too much, and speaking too much would only lead to trouble. It was better to say less in case he caused more problems to make things worse.

Soon, they returned to the Stones’ residence. Luna went upstairs to shower and change clothes, while Zane stayed downstairs. Freya held her son and sat in a rattan chair on the balcony, basking in the sunlight. The late autumn sun was no longer scorching, but instead warm and gentle.

“Mama…” Kai nuzzled against her shoulder. Freya gazed at her son, her eyes filled with tenderness. She lifted his little hand and kissed it gently.

Suddenly, a noise of something being dropped came from downstairs, accompanied by a scream. Freya carried Kai and walked to the stairs, asking, “What happened…” Before she could finish her sentence, she saw what was happening downstairs–
