You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 264 You Heartless Woman!

Ronan was stunned by her rejection. It was then that he realized how intimidatingly cold Freya had become. Carefully, he asked, “What’s wrong with you?”

Freya glanced at the time. “You have two minutes. Do you want to say something?”

Ronan hesitated.

“Elijah did something to stop the construction of a building I was investing in. They claimed it was a violation. I had obtained the necessary approvals, but then I had to rush back to Stratos City to investigate. Turns out, it was Elijah’s doing. Why is he so petty?” Ronan complained.

Understanding the situation, Freya said, “You deserved it.”

Ronan fumed, “You heartless woman!”

“Your mother can be discharged for recovery. I can help you with the discharge agreement whenever you want,” Freya said calmly.

Ronan was infuriated.

“Freya, you and Elijah truly deserve each other. Both of you are so ruthless. When I came here this time, you saved my mother. I’ve been nothing but obedient to you, at least trying to please you. Yet, you hurt me like this.”

Without looking up, Freya replied, “It’s been two minutes. I have work to do.”

Ronan muttered, “You’re a bad woman. Only Elijah would like you. I… must have been blind to have any feelings for you.”

Ronan gritted his teeth. Freya paused for a second and then walked away with bigger strides. Watching Freya’s fleeing figure, Ronan was left speechless.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

“Even if I have to arrange my mother’s discharge, I won’t seek your help.” Ronan shouted.

Freya seemed to ignore him. Ronan couldn’t contain his frustration.

“Hey…”

Still, she didn’t acknowledge him.

Three days later, Joan Nash was buried. Elijah kept it a secret, not inviting anyone. For Elijah, the Silverton family had no right to attend. Naturally, they weren’t informed, not even Freya, and she wasn’t asked to be present.

Eric Lowe had stayed, waiting for the funeral. But by the time he heard about it, it was already over. He didn’t even know where Joan Nash was buried. He went to find Freya.

“Now that he thinks I’m the one who killed his mother, do you think he would tell me anything? If he wanted me to know, do you think I would still be working here at this time?” Freya retorted.

Eric was at a loss for words.

“You should go back earlier.” Freya said.

Eric couldn’t let go. “Can you help me find out…”

“It’s impossible.” Freya interrupted him before he could finish.

Eric spoke softly, “I just want to see her one last time…”

Freya turned and walked away without a word. Eric persistently searched for a long time but couldn’t find her. In the end, he had to leave first. He thought, he would come back later after some time. Elijah was hiding everything now. After a while, when Elijah let his guard down, it would be easier for Eric to find her. Eric booked a flight back to Country M but got into a car accident on the way to the airport. A semi-truck lost control and directly collided with the taxi, flipping it over. The car was severely deformed, and the driver died on the spot. Eric still had a breath of life left and was rushed to the hospital.

During this time, Freya was very busy, spending most of her time at the hospital. As for Elijah, he was also busy, but Freya wasn’t sure what he was busy with. Usually, Elijah wasn’t around when she returned home. Sometimes, when she woke up in the morning, she would only see him on the other side of the bed.

Today, Linda called her and said that Kai had been causing trouble these past few days, so she left work a bit earlier. Kai had been crying for no apparent reason these days, and Freya would cry when she carried him. Freya took him out for a walk, and he felt better. The little boy fell asleep on her shoulder, and she carried him back home.

In the garage at the entrance, she saw Elijah’s car. Freya walked closer to the house. There was no one in the living room.

“Linda, has he come back?” she asked.

“Yes, he’s in the study.”

Freya glanced towards the study, her eyes deepening, hesitant to disturb.

Evan stood in front of the desk, looking guilty, hanging his head low as he softly said, “Sorry, I didn’t handle things well this time.”
