Chapter 247 Sneaky Behavior
Freya was about to explain when Joan Lowe spoke up. “She had a fight with her boyfriend, and I saw it. I was afraid she would get hurt, so I let her into the room and gave her a cup of tea.”
Eric Lowe looked sharply at Freya. “Is that so?”
Freya nodded. “Yes, that’s exactly what happened. I didn’t expect it to be such a coincidence…”
“Eric, do you know her?” Joan Lowe glanced at Freya and finally fixed her gaze on Eric Lowe.
Eric Lowe walked over, put his arm around Joan Lowe’s shoulder, and said, “She is Sivin Peters’ talented apprentice. I met her when I went to see Sivin last time.”
Joan Lowe’s tone became gentler. “Are you a doctor?”
Freya honestly replied, “Yes.”
Suddenly, Joan Lowe rubbed her temple and furrowed her brows, looking as if she were in pain.
Eric Lowe tenderly said, “Is your headache acting up again?”
Joan Lowe nodded.Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
“I’ll help you back to the room to take your medicine.” He embraced Joan Lowe and led her back to the room. In passing, he glanced at Freya and warned, “I don’t like people prying into my personal matters. If I find out that you had ulterior motives for being here today, I won’t let you off easily.”
Freya said, “I didn’t.”
“You better not!” Eric Lowe closed the door.
Faintly, Freya heard Joan Lowe say, “Why are you so fierce? She’s just a little girl.”
Eric Lowe replied, “I’m just worried about bad people.”
Freya had initially thought she was overthinking, but Eric Lowe’s attitude was too suspicious. He seemed to be afraid of others getting close to Joan Lowe. Why would he be afraid?
“Freya, hey-” Zane called out to Freya in a sneaky manner.
Freya turned her head and saw Zane hiding behind a pillar, looking nervous. She walked over and entered the room. Zane couldn’t wait and asked eagerly, “How did it go? Did you find out anything?”
Freya shook her head. “No.”
“So, we came here for nothing? We wasted money? But I’m so hungry.” Zane said, “I’ve helped you so much. Can you treat me to something delicious?”
Freya raised her hand and glanced at her watch. It was almost nine o’clock.
“Next time, I have to go back now, it’s so late.” She hurriedly walked out.
Zane rolled his eyes. “You’re abandoning me, and what about this room?”
“You can sleep here.” Freya said and left.
Zane blinked, feeling like he wasn’t losing out after all. He could sleep in this room. But it would be a pity not to do something in such a nice room. He sprawled on the bed, suddenly thinking of Luna. He picked up his phone and sent her a message, “What are you doing?”
After sending it, he waited for a reply. He waited and waited-almost falling asleep when his phone finally rang with a message tone.
He immediately checked it.
“Just finished work.”
“So late?” Zane quickly replied.
“Yeah, that’s how my job is. I have to be ready to cooperate with investigations at any time.”
“That’s tough.”
Luna sent an emoji.
“Have you eaten?”
“Not yet.”
Zane suddenly sighed. If only they were closer, they could eat together.
“I haven’t eaten either.” Zane replied.
Luna said, “Then you should go and eat quickly.”
“If only we were closer.”
Luna sent an eye-rolling emoji.
“If you come over, I’ll treat you to something delicious.” She joked.
Zane got excited. “Really?”
“Really.”
Zane felt that the presidential suite suddenly didn’t seem as enticing, so he immediately left.
He bought the latest high-speed train ticket and went to Stratos City. Meanwhile, Luna finished sending the message and left her phone behind to take a shower.
…
On the other side.
Freya rushed to the villa but she didn’t see anyone in the room. She instantly felt confused.
Where was he?
“Linda.” She called out while pushing open the bedroom door.
And then she saw-
