Chapter 238 A Friend of Sivin Peters
“Elijah isn’t the one who’s furious, I am. What you’re doing, isn’t it just stirring up trouble between us?” Freya said, her voice filled with disappointment. “I never thought you would be this kind of person.”
Ronan just wanted to get a rise out of Elijah. He knew it might affect Freya, but he did it anyway.
Freya was rightfully angry at him. He chuckled nervously, trying to make light of the situation. “Oh come on, if he doesn’t trust you or gets angry because of this, it just shows that he doesn’t love you that much.”
“Get lost,” Freya snapped.
This wasn’t about love or trust. If the situation were reversed and it was Elijah who got drunk and ended up alone with another woman, Freya wouldn’t feel comfortable either. She understood that Elijah was upset about it. Trust was a delicate matter. They hadn’t been together for very long, so it was understandable that they didn’t have complete trust in each other yet. It wasn’t a major flaw. She believed that with time, they would learn to trust each other unconditionally.
“You should give Elijah all the surveillance footage from that night,” Freya suddenly spoke up.
Ronan fell silent.
Freya frowned. “What’s wrong? You don’t want to? Don’t forget, I saved your mother. Is this how you repay your benefactor?”
Ronan hurriedly explained, “No, it’s not that. It’s… it’s…”
“What is it? Spit it out, don’t beat around the bush.” Freya was starting to lose her patience.
Ronan decided to be honest. “I deleted the footage from the club. I only kept the part where you stumbled and I caught you, and also the part where you tackled me…”
Freya’s face turned dark with anger. “You did it on purpose, didn’t you?”
Ronan nodded and admitted, “Yes, I did it on purpose. I planned to show it to Elijah.”
“Ronan, go to hell!” Freya shouted angrily.
It was the first time Ronan saw Freya lose her composure like this, and he realized the seriousness of the situation. “Are you really mad?” asked he.
“Am I really mad? Do I look like I have time to waste on you? Get out of here, I don’t want to see you.” Freya furrowed her brows, the first time someone had pushed her buttons so much. After gathering her emotions, she walked out of the office, heading towards Sivin Peters’ office.
Ronan followed her, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…”
“Don’t follow me,” Freya snapped.
Ronan stopped in his tracks. “Are you really mad?”
Freya couldn’t be bothered to deal with him anymore.
Sivin Peters and another man were discussing something when the office door suddenly knocked. Sivin Peters went to open it and saw Freya. “Come in.”
Freya didn’t immediately enter and asked, “Do you have a guest?”
“A patient’s family member, also my friend. Come in,” Sivin Peters said.
Freya nodded.
The man sitting at the desk didn’t turn around. From his back, he seemed difficult to get along with, giving off a cold and serious vibe.
“Eric, let me introduce you. This is my disciple, who might take over my position in the future,” Sivin Peters introduced to Eric Vega.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
The man finally turned around. Freya saw his face. It matched the impression he gave off. He was indeed serious, with well-defined features, and an air of melancholy between his eyebrows.
Sivin said to Freya, “Tomorrow, I have a consultation with one of my former patients. You can come with me.”
“Sivin,” Eric Vega seemed reluctant to have Freya involved.
“Don’t worry, she is trustworthy. And in case I am unable to perform the surgery, she can help.”
Eric Vega still hesitated.
Sivin said, “Her condition can’t be delayed any longer. I hope you can make a decision soon. Trust me, I won’t leak any information. We’ve been friends for so many years, can’t you trust me?”
Eric Vega glanced at Freya as he pondered.
