You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 182 I Want to Have a Drink with You

The person in the photo was Elijah. He wasn’t alone; there was a woman with him. Elara Montague. They stood at the door of the hospital room, Elara Montague holding onto Elijah’s coat hem. Elijah turned his head away, and his expression couldn’t be seen in the photo.

Freya didn’t feel angry or upset upon receiving this photo. After all, she could be sure of one thing: someone wanted her to see it. It was easy to guess that their intention was to create misunderstandings between her and Elijah.

Therefore, she wouldn’t make any hasty decisions; instead, she needed to hear what Elijah had to say about this situation. She pressed the power button on her phone screen and it went black before turning her head towards the window outside as her thoughts gradually sank down into despair.

Her mind filled with the picture, which made Zane Stone’s matter fade away from her mind. Freya knew rationally that someone had deliberately done this but emotionally there were still some worries lingering around inside of her, since Elara Montague did look pretty good-looking after all – what did it mean for her to hold onto Elijah’s coat hem?

Soon after, Freya returned to her accommodation.

Linda was in the living room, holding Kai, who was now awake. Freya walked in, washed her hands, and took the baby from Linda. Kai seemed to recognize his mother and nestled his head into her neck. Freya’s heart almost melted with love. She lowered her head and kissed her son’s cheek and forehead, feeling a warm sense of happiness.

Life truly is a miracle.

After Kai played for a while, he became hungry and started eating his milk formula, but he fell asleep while eating. Freya laid him down. It was dinnertime, and Freya went to the kitchen where Linda was already working.

“You don’t need to come in,” said Linda. “I can handle it by myself.”

Freya smiled and said, “I want to cook today.”

“Elijah might come back later.” She added.

Linda being smart immediately understood what she meant by wanting personally cook dinner for him.

“I’ll help you out.” Linda said.

“I can do it myself.” Freya said.

“Then I’ll go collect laundry.”

After about an hour and a half, Freya finished cooking the meal. It was now time for dinner. As she was about to plate the last dish, Elijah still hadn’t returned. She took out her phone to call him and ask him when he would be back, but just as she was hesitating, she heard a knock on the door. She walked out and saw Elijah entering the house. He was still wearing the same suit, the one Elara Montague had grabbed the hem of.

Freya greeted him happily saying “Welcome back!”

Elijah looked over and saw Freya with a simple ponytail, wearing a white t-shirt, blue straight-leg jeans, and a waist apron. It was so simple without any embellishments, but it was beautiful in his eyes. The scent of fireworks filled the once cold house. He made a soft sound of agreement.

“Go wash your hands and come eat,” Freya said as she returned to the kitchen to bring out the food. She set the table with utensils as Elijah walked over.

Freya pulled out her chair and sat down below him. She opened a bottle of wine and poured it for him.

“Do you have something happy to share?” Elijah raised an eyebrow.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

“No, I just wanted to have a drink with you.”

Elijah looked at her, thinking she was beautiful no matter what. He took the wine bottle from her hand. “Let me pour for you.”

Freya pursed her lips and said, “My mom says there’s no good day for marriage recently. I also thought that there are too many things going on lately so we can postpone it until everything settles down before having our wedding ceremony.”

Elijah remained silent for a moment before saying, “Okay.”

It wasn’t really an ideal time to get married now but they were already living like husband and wife anyway. He held Freya’s hand that was resting on the table. “Whatever you want or need, I’ll make sure you get it.”

Freya smiled playfully saying, “Don’t worry about that because I will definitely take advantage of that generosity!” Soon after changing topics abruptly, she asked casually, “Where did you go today?”

“I dealt with some things at the company.” Replied Elijah.

Freya rarely asked about his schedule, and he smiled. “What’s the matter? Don’t you trust me?”

Freya replied, “Of course not! I’m afraid you’ll meet other women.”

Elijah laughed, his deep and resonant voice filled with amusement and pleasure.

Freya gave him a stern look and asked, “What are you laughing at? What’s so funny?”

“I like you,” he said.

Freya was speechless.

“I handed over my father’s company to Zane since Yolanda Steele died leaving him alone now. Running things by himself, I hope he can find solace in being busy enough not be consumed by sadness anymore.” Said Freya.

She felt obligated to tell Elijah everything since they had decided on living together sharing their lives openly without secrets between them both.

Elijah didn’t go to the hospital because of Elara Montague.

“I received a message that was intentionally sent to me with the purpose of making me appear at Yolanda Steele’s death scene. I thought about their motive, which was to make people think that I was the killer of Yolanda Steele. Did Zane Stone not tell you anything when you met him?”

Freya suddenly realized that Zane Stone’s unusual behavior today was because he thought Elijah had something to do with his mother’s death. That was why he asked the question related to her choice between Elijah and him.

“I’ll find a chance to explain it to him so he won’t blame you,” Freya said, feeling relieved now that she knew what was wrong with Zane Stone.

But she still had business to attend.

Freya dragged her chin and looked at Elijah slowly. “Have you met any women today?”

Elijah noticed her probing tone and looked up at her. “What do you want to ask?”

“Just asking casually,” Freya replied while playing with her phone on the table. She didn’t mention anything about the photo because she wanted Elijah to confess voluntarily.

She thought these direct questions were enough to make Elijah understand what she meant by now. Indeed, Elijah detected something strange in her words – she was testing him.

“Hmm.”

“Who?” Freya subconsciously asked again.

“Thorne Silverton’s mother.”

Freya felt disappointed for a moment; it wasn’t what she wanted to know.

But in Elijah’s mind, Elara Montague reappeared because of Arwen Silverton. And something dirty happened between them; he didn’t want it mentioned anymore or use Elara Montague for his own benefit – otherwise he would have sent her away already. Maybe he really was cold-blooded like this even towards someone who saved his life.

Freya felt completely let down but decided not pursue further questioning on this topic anymore.

After finishing dinner together and cleaning up their dishes, Kai woke up from his nap while Elijah went off alone without noticing any change in Freya’s mood.

Determinedly looking into things herself now, Freya told Elijah during showering time that her mother called her back home urgently so she needed transportation there. Elijah did not think much about it since if it concerned visiting her mother then no one could stop them.

“Let my driver take care of your ride there,”he offered kindly.

Freya agreed gratefully.

Based on the information in the photo, Freya was able to determine which hospital it was. Fortunately, there was a lot of information in the photo, making it easy to pinpoint the location.

She arrived at the hospital and found the room. Elara Montague had not been discharged yet. Instead of going directly to see Elara, Freya went to find the doctor who had examined her. Because Freya was a doctor herself, she had some connections and was able to easily find the doctor who had examined Elara Montague. As luck would have it, they had crossed paths in the past and recognized each other. It was fortunate that they knew each other because otherwise, Freya would not have been able to obtain the medical records.

“Here you go, but you can’t reveal this information outside. You know that hospitals have regulations and cannot disclose patient information,” the doctor said.

“I understand. Don’t worry, I’ll just take a look and won’t say anything.”

As Freya flipped through the medical records and saw the list of examination items, her expression gradually darkened.
