You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 147 Making a Scene

“Elara Montague was attacked on her way to the branch office.” Xander reported.

Elijah responded, “Handle it.”

“She’s seriously injured and requests to see you. Otherwise, she refuses treatment,” Xander added.

Elijah frowned and said, “I got it.”

He immediately hung up the phone, leaving Xander puzzled.

Meanwhile, Elara continued to make a scene. Thinking it over, Xander sent Elijah an address via text.

It wasn’t that Xander was inactive; it was just that he couldn’t handle it. He was now certain that his boss didn’t like this woman; otherwise, he wouldn’t have transferred her to the branch office. Leaving her there was probably only due to the connection with that jade pendant. So, Xander couldn’t make a precise decision.

After contemplating for a moment, Elijah told Freya, “Behave yourself, I need to handle something.”

Freya had just heard Elara’s name.

Was he going to see Elara now?

For some reason, knowing he was meeting another woman, she felt a little lost but quickly warned herself not to feel that way. Elijah wasn’t worth her concern. She pretended to be calm and taunted, “I’m bound by you. What else can I do?”

Her temper was a bit high. Elijah thought she was upset about being confined.

“You know, even if I release you, you can’t escape. There are people watching outside. Don’t think you can run away!” Elijah glanced at her, then dressed and left the room.

Freya regretted biting him too lightly.

Was she going to be tied up for another day?

And then denied food and water?

Although she had just eaten, she remembered the feeling of hunger vividly.

She had drunk so much water just now; what if she needed to use the bathroom?

Would she have to endure it?

Who would save her?

“Elijah!” She gritted her teeth, hating this man!

If she had another chance, she would definitely vent her anger on him.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

Elijah, who was driving, sneezed. He lowered the car window, allowing the sunlight to stream in. The light cast sharp contours on his side profile, making it even more vivid.

When he arrived at the hospital, even from a distance, he could hear Elara’s loud cries. He frowned, seemingly disgusted.

“Mr Silverton.” Xander, not knowing what Elijah meant, was about to leave but hurriedly approached when he saw Elijah coming. It was like finding a lifeline.

Elijah asked, “Who attacked her?”

“Just some street thugs. Probably saw her good looks and wanted to take advantage of her. Elara Montague resisted, leading to her injuries.” Xander explained without going into detail.

Whatever needed to be done, he had to follow Elijah’s orders. Perhaps Elijah didn’t care because it was someone he didn’t like. He didn’t instruct Xander to investigate thoroughly. Elijah would come over simply because she owned that jade pendant, and he owed her for saving his life.

“Why is she crying?” His voice was indifferent, devoid of any concern. Perhaps only because he genuinely disliked her could he be so cold. If it were Freya, he would definitely not be so indifferent.

“Mainly, she wants to see you.” Xander truthfully replied.

Elijah walked towards the ward. Elara was throwing a fit, and just as Elijah approached, a pillow flew towards him. He slightly turned, dodging the pillow.

“Get out, all of you…” Elara pointed at the medical staff.

Seeing Elijah, she first froze, then pounced towards him. Elijah stepped back, avoiding her. Missing her target, Elara felt embarrassed. She questioned Elijah with red eyes, “Why can you treat me like this?”

Elijah remained expressionless.

“At least, I saved your life, do you know I almost got raped and persecuted by others?” Elara cried sadly.

Elijah frowned in disdain.

“I won’t go to the branch company, even if I die!” she hysterically declared.

“You grew up abroad. I can arrange another job for you there.” Elijah suggested.

Even with Elara like this, he didn’t relent.

Elara couldn’t believe it. Was he so heartless?

With injuries on her face, couldn’t he see?

Why did he have to send her away?

“Why can’t I stay in the company? Is it because I did a bad job? I can change…” she pleaded.

“I arranged a job for you because of Grandfather and because you’re the owner of that jade pendant. Otherwise, do you think I would be here? I’ve already given you face. If you don’t want it, you can decline.” Elijah said.

“No, I…”

Elijah interrupted, “I can give you money.”

He just wanted to get it over with.

Elara shook her head. Although their family wasn’t as wealthy as the Silverton family, and her parents had passed away early, they were well off. She didn’t lack money. She didn’t want money; she wanted this man.

“I don’t want money; I just want to stay in the company. Even if I beg you, I won’t appear in front of you again. Please, for the sake of this jade pendant.” She reached for the jade pendant around her neck and presented it to Elijah.

She used to dislike the pendant’s appearance. She preferred fashionable jewelry; not many young girls wore jade. She thought it was old-fashioned. Deck told her to wear the pendant all the time; Elijah wouldn’t be so cold to her if he saw it.

Elijah glanced at the pendant. A flash seemed to pass before his eyes – those bright eyes.

“I got it. Take care of your injuries. Come back to work when you’re better.” Elijah turned and walked out of the ward.

Xander followed him.

“Arrange a position for her where I can’t see her,” Elijah instructed as they walked.

Xander agreed.

“You drive.” Elijah threw the car keys to him.

Xander caught them, glanced at his own car, and realized he might have to ask someone else to drive it back.

“To the office, or…” Xander began to ask.

“The office.”

“Okay.”

The car moved on the road. When they passed by a hotel, many cars were parked outside, and there were banners. A newlywed couple was coming out.

Elijah whispered, “Stop.”

Xander, puzzled, parked the car by the roadside and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Elijah lifted his chin slightly, indicating him to look outside. Following his gesture, Xander saw a couple coming out of the hotel.

The next moment, Xander was surprised.
