You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 145 Dreams

Deck had been with him for many years, a trusted companion. However, after this incident, a slight resentment lingered in his heart. This was a test for him. He could only hope that Deck was genuinely coerced and not for some other reason.

Rose Garden.

The sedative had worn off, and Freya woke up. However, her hands and feet were bound, rendering her immobile. Coupled with the side effects of the sedative, she felt weak. Unaware of her captor, she shouted, “Is anyone there? I’m hungry.”

But there was no response.

When Elijah left, he instructed the guards not to let anyone in and to call him when she woke up. If she shouted, let her continue. The guard at the door heard her cries and called Elijah.

Elijah was in a meeting. In the spacious conference room accommodating a hundred people, company executives and branch managers were present. Today was the quarterly summary, so attendance was high.

Seated at the head of the table, Elijah leaned back, one arm resting on the table, fingers idly twirling a pen. When displeased with a report, the pen would strike the table without a pattern.

The quarterly report of a subsidiary was clearly unsatisfactory. Although his expression remained unchanged, the pen was now firmly pressed against the table.

He was about to speak when the phone on the table suddenly rang. He reached for it.

“She’s awake, keeps saying she’s hungry.”

Elijah said, “Ignore her.”

“Understood.”

He hung up, saying, “Continue the presentation.”

He did it on purpose.

Who asked her to marry Ronan Vega?

He was considerate enough not to kill her. Without teaching her a lesson, she would never learn. She shouldn’t have challenged his limits time and again. And he, repeatedly crossing boundaries with her. Thinking of Freya Stone, Elijah couldn’t help but laugh.

The previously suppressed atmosphere was broken by this low, mellow laughter.

Someone even thought he was in a good mood and asked, “Mr Silverton, is there something joyous?”

Elijah looked at the person speaking, “Yes, but I can’t share it with you. Continue, I hope your quarterly report can maintain this pleasant mood.”

The person, perhaps finishing their presentation splendidly, only dared to speak now.

The meeting lasted nearly four hours. Tea on the table was replenished five or six times. Everyone looked fatigued. After the meeting, Elijah got up and left the conference room first, followed by others gradually rising. He loosened his tie, heading towards his office, instructing his secretary, “Get some delicious snacks.”

“Yes, sir.”

The secretary left.

Pushing open the office door, Elijah threw the loosened tie onto the sofa, sat down, and relaxed, closing his eyes to rest.

Rose Garden.

Freya had shouted for a long time, but no one paid her any attention. Her throat was dry, and she had no energy left. Bound and unable to move, she felt like a fish on a chopping board, awaiting slaughter. She had no idea who had captured her, which made her feel terrible.

In her mind, she wondered who could have captured her.

Was it Rylan Hawke?

Or someone else?

She didn’t think about Elijah capturing her. She was about to get married and Elijah wouldn’t still want to cling to her. That man, always with an arrogant demeanor, would never stoop so low as to cling to a woman about to be married.

Now, Freya believed the person who had captured her was most likely Rylan Hawke.

Although they didn’t have any grudges initially, Rylan Hawke said Elijah harmed Liora Valentine and he would seek revenge on Elijah himself last time.

At the thought of this, Freya couldn’t help but smile bitterly.

She was divorced from Elijah. Elijah had moved on. If Rylan Hawke wanted revenge, he should go after Elara. Why did he capture her?

Turning her eyes, Freya assessed the entire room, having no recollection of ever being here. The windows were closed, with only a narrow gap in the curtains allowing in light. The room was bright, and she blinked her eyes, not wanting to move. She was thirsty, her mouth dry. She closed her eyes, trying to sleep, thinking it might ease her thirst. After a long time, she gradually fell asleep.

In a daze, she opened her eyes, smelling the aroma of food. She saw delicate pastries on the table, tempting and inviting. Considering her hunger, someone must have placed them there while she was asleep.

Was this an attempt to lure her into eating the poisoned food?

She turned her body, avoiding looking at the food. This way, she wouldn’t feel the urge to eat. But in this moment, she truly suffered and felt miserable.

Who could come and save her?

Elijah, in the living room, watched Freya’s every move through the surveillance screen.

Her lips were chapped, and she looked weary. Although Elijah felt a twinge of sympathy, he coldly shut the laptop. He couldn’t bear to keep watching.

“I’m so thirsty…” Freya, with eyes half-closed, spoke in a voice like a mosquito. It was almost impossible to hear her.

Elijah lifted her, pouring water into her mouth. “Drink.”

With water wetting her throat, she felt revived.

Elijah held her, patting her back. “Sleep.”

He untied the ropes binding her, and her body felt comfortable without constraints. It felt like a dream. If it weren’t for being able to drink water, she might have thought it was a dream. If it were a dream, she wished it could last a bit longer.

“Kai…” In her sleep, Freya murmured.

She missed her child.

Dreams were born from desires.

Her voice was faint, and Elijah couldn’t hear clearly.

“My child, I’m sorry…” She hadn’t taken care of her child properly. After giving birth, she hadn’t taken good care of him for a few days, always separating from him when he faced danger.

She was an unfit mother.

A tear rolled down her cheek, falling silently onto the pillow. For that last sound, Elijah heard it. But he thought Freya dreamt of her lost child, causing her heartache. He understood her feelings because he could empathize. She had been a mother. And he had been a father. Elijah hugged her in his arms. Only in this way could he ease the discomfort in his heart.Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

How he wished to have another child with her.

This night suddenly became exceptionally long. Elijah couldn’t sleep, no matter what.

In the morning, Freya woke up.
