You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 141 Wedding Snatch

Elijah glanced at him, neither confirming nor denying it.

Xander understood.

“Mr Silverton,” Xander cautiously suggested, “since you still like Miss Stone, why keep Elara Montague working in the company? Women can be petty, Miss Stone will surely be unhappy when she sees this. It’s not conducive to the development of your relationship.”

Elijah snorted, “She’s pushed me to other women. Do you think she can develop feelings for me?”

Xander was momentarily speechless.

Indeed, if someone truly liked another person, they wouldn’t tolerate their man being touched by another woman, right? In the world of emotions, there was a certain degree of possessiveness. After truly falling in love with someone, it was impossible to share their man with someone else.

“Mr Silverton, since she’s indifferent, why not let her marry Ronan Vega? A forced relationship won’t be sweet. Besides, even if you can restrain her for a while, can you keep her imprisoned for a lifetime?”

Elijah’s expression turned cold, “Even if she doesn’t like me, I won’t allow her to be with another man.”

Xander was at a loss for words.

“Wasn’t that a bit too domineering?” he thought.

Xander unexpectedly felt some sympathy for Freya. At the same time, he thought she was ungrateful. Being chosen by Elijah was such a blessing, and Elijah had already been so indulgent towards her. Why couldn’t she appreciate it?

“Ronan Vega can’t compare to you in any aspect. What does she see in him?” Xander couldn’t understand.

Elijah sneered, “She’s blind.”

Xander blinked, surprisingly finding Elijah’s words reasonable.

“Do you want to go check on her?” Xander asked.

Elijah said, “No, what time is the meeting?”

“1:30,” Xander replied.

“Go get ready,” Elijah’s tone remained indifferent, leaving people unable to guess his current mood.NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.

Xander left the office, and at the door, Elara Montague was coming over.

She smiled, “Mr Cross.”

Xander asked her, “What’s up?”

“I’m looking for Elijah.” She lifted her lips, her smile full, her eyes bright.

For some reason, every time Xander heard Elara Montague say ‘Elijah,’ he felt extremely uneasy, as if this woman didn’t know restraint and was intentionally trying to seduce.

He didn’t like women who actively pursued men. It made them seem frivolous, lacking any self-respect. However, Elijah didn’t kick her out as he did before. It was probably related to that jade pendant.

He sighed. His boss had been without a woman by his side for a long time, and now he suddenly had two. It was obvious that Elara Montague liked Elijah, but Elijah’s heart was set on Freya. The more Xander thought about it, the more he marveled at the complexity of this love triangle.

“You go inside,” Xander said after finishing.

Elara didn’t immediately enter the office. Instead, she used the mirror on the back of her phone case to check her makeup, making sure it was flawless before adjusting her dress and walking in.

“Mr Silverton…” Elara walked over.

She only used ‘Elijah’ outside, making people feel like she had an intimate relationship with him. However, facing Elijah alone, she wouldn’t address him that way.

Elijah remained expressionless, even cold, “What’s the matter?”

Elara smiled, “Well, grandfather said we should go back to the old mansion for dinner tonight.”

“I’m busy, go by yourself,” Elijah directly refused.

Elara looked disappointed and unwilling, saying, “I asked the secretary. You have no other engagements tonight…”

“I don’t like others inquiring about my affairs.” Elijah’s face visibly darkened.

“I wasn’t deliberately inquiring, I just asked casually…” Elara explained anxiously.

“I have other matters. You go about your business,” Elijah didn’t want to talk to her any longer, getting up and walking out of the office toward the meeting room.

Elara caught up, “Why are you so indifferent to me?”

Elijah frowned, turning to stare at her, “What, I gave you a job, is that not enough repayment for you saving me? What else do you want?”

“No…,” she hurriedly explained, “I heard from grandfather that the jade pendant is supposed to be returned to the girl who saved you, and the pendant is mine. Although I don’t remember it very clearly, I do recall from my childhood that I indeed fell into the water after saving someone. Are you too indifferent to your lifesaver? You’re also too cold towards me.”

Elijah coldly retorted, “So, how do you want me to treat you?” Before Elara could respond, he laughed with a mocking tone, “You saved me, I arranged a job for you. Isn’t that repayment enough? What more do you want?”

Elara vigorously shook her head, “I don’t want anything…”

“You don’t want anything, then work well. Don’t do things beyond your job, and regarding sending documents, let your department manager handle it. There’s no need for you to come to my office,” Elijah showed no mercy.

Once, he couldn’t forget the girl who had saved him, especially those eyes, which often appeared in his dreams. But now, when Elara stood in front of him, his heart remained undisturbed. There was no trace of that feeling anymore. He knew Elara Montague’s intentions but still allowed her to stay, which was already lenient enough.

Distressed, wrathful, consumed by envy-such were the tumultuous emotions that gripped Elara in this moment.

Not only did she not get closer to Elijah, but she also made him dislike her even more. It was truly not worth the effort.

“Mr Silverton…”

Elijah ignored her, striding away.

Elara stood still, shaking with anger. Gasping for breath, her chest heaved up and down.

Entering the meeting room, Elijah called Xander over and whispered, “Transfer Elara Montague to a branch.”

Xander’s eyes flickered, wondering what had happened now.

“She offended you?” Xander gossiped.

Elijah raised an eyebrow, “Why, so interested in my private matters? Should we sit down, and I’ll tell you slowly?”

“No need.” Xander laughed awkwardly, “I’ll get it done as soon as possible.”

“Let’s begin.” Elijah sat in the first seat without wasting any more words.

The meeting lasted for two hours before concluding.

Elijah left the company before five. And he drove to the Rose Garden, one of his residences, known by very few.

He got out of the car and walked over. There were guards at the entrance, and upon seeing Elijah, they respectfully said, “Mr Silverton.”

Elijah nodded slightly, “Has she caused any trouble?”

“Following Mr Cross’s instructions, we gave her a sedative, and she hasn’t woken up yet.”

Elijah acknowledged with a grunt.

The guards opened the door for him. Elijah walked in. He went straight to the room where Freya was held. She was tied up with soft ropes. Despite being administered a sedative, they were afraid she might cause a disturbance upon waking up. Elijah walked to the bedside, reaching out to sweep away the strands of hair covering her forehead.

Freya was still wearing her wedding dress. The massive skirt almost covered the entire bed. She lay delicately nestled in a sea of white, her slender arms marked with red indentations from the bindings.

“Um…”
