You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 131 I Like You

Freya walked in and said, “Mr Silverton.”

Elijah’s expression instantly froze upon hearing her voice.

At this moment, Freya wasn’t in the mood to please him and didn’t notice his darkening face. She mechanically asked, “Are you free tonight?”

Elijah leaned back on his chair, indifferent. “For what?”

“I booked a room at Longton Hotel,” she said while clenching her hands by her side repeatedly before finally calming down enough to speak again. “Top floor…”

“Freya,” Elijah interrupted before she could finish speaking. “What are you talking about?”

He suppressed his excitement and put on a cold facade. Elijah just didn’t want to show his ecstatic feelings in front of her.

“Do you have time today?” Freya asked.

“Yes,” he answered too quickly, betraying his current feelings.

How much she wished he would say no… but also feared that he wouldn’t want to go. If he refused, her child might be in danger.

Freya was painful inside.

“I’ll go there first and wait for you, go ahead with your work.” Freya said before turning around. “Let’s go together.” Elijah stood up and said.

Freya lowered her head.

“You came looking for me, why are you shy now?” Elijah grabbed her hand.

He had no backbone when it came to Freya – as long as she made the first move even slightly – he would do anything for her without hesitation.

“When did you become so open-minded?” His lips curved upwards slightly because regardless of whether or not she was reserved or passionate towards him – he liked both sides of her.

“Do you still have our marriage certificate?” asked Freya.

Elijah held onto her hand tightly – back then when they got married everything had been arranged by their elders so actually never saw their marriage certificate himself.

“Why do you suddenly ask that?”

“Just curious.” She smiled lightly.

They left the company building together and got into a car which Elijah drove them to a restaurant.

“Come eat with me.” Said Elijah.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

“Mm-hmm.” Freya responded softly.

It was an exclusive private kitchen where only VIPs like Elijah were allowed access; there were dishes here that couldn’t be found anywhere else outside of this place. The dish was perfect in every way, but it didn’t whet Freya’s appetite.

“Aren’t you hungry?” Elijah offered her a bite of food.

“I already ate. You go ahead,” Freya replied, not touching the food.

Elijah sensed that something was off with her mood, but he didn’t dwell on it. “Are you tired? If you trust me, I can have someone handle everything for your company…”

“No, my father entrusted it to me and I should do my best. Besides, I have to keep an eye on Zane; otherwise, I won’t feel at ease.” She forced a smile.

“Don’t you dislike your brother?” Elijah asked as he sipped his soup.

Freya pursed her lips. “My dad entrusted him to me so I have no choice.”

Elijah remained silent.

In the end, Freya still had some affection for Leo Stone; otherwise she wouldn’t have taken care of his mistress’s son after he passed away and taken over his company.

Wasn’t Freya actually someone who valued relationships?

After dinner, Elijah took her back home. When they arrived at their mansion instead of a hotel room as planned earlier, Freya got anxious, “Didn’t we agree on going to the hotel?”

Elijah smiled, “Isn’t our home better?”

“No thanks! Let’s go to the hotel,” she blurted out without thinking twice about it.

“You…” Elijah turned around and looked at her suspiciously.

“We’re married now and sometimes we need to add some romance into our lives too! Don’t you want that?” Freya said preemptively.

“Something seems off about you today.”

Even though Freya kept trying hard to please him lately but Elijah still felt something was amiss with this sudden change in attitude from coldness towards warmth towards himself.

At first he had been overwhelmed by Freya’s enthusiasm earlier today but now upon reflection realized how strange this sudden change in behavior seemed – why would she suddenly invite him out like this?

“I just wanted to thank you for everything Xander did for me today at work, all those decisions were made because of your help.” She explained herself.

“For that reason alone?” His voice lowered slightly as if implying there must be more than just gratitude behind such an invitation.

“Hmm?”

“Did you offer yourself up just as repayment?” His laughter spilled out coldly from deep within his throat causing pain deep within heart when heard by Freya.

Freya suppressed the bitterness rising inside and leaned against his shoulder instead, “I like you.”

Suddenly Elijah pulled over onto the side of road abruptly stopping their car altogether .

Freya’s words seemed to have an unexpected impact. It made Elijah pause for a few seconds.

“Freya,” he said in a low voice, “do you know what you’re saying?”

Freya said, “Sure.”

Everything she did today was beyond her control, but this statement was her true feelings.

She looked up and said, “Today, I am willing.”

Elijah felt like he wouldn’t be himself in front of her, that her words could control his mood. His happiness and anger were all tied to her every movement and expression.

“You,” Elijah sighed helplessly and affectionately.

He thought he had fallen into her hands! He then started the car and drove to the hotel. When they entered the room, Freya pushed him and said, “Go shower first.”

Elijah hooked her waist, raised an eyebrow, with a trace of desire in his eyes, whispered in her ear, “Can’t wait anymore?”

Freya lowered her eyes and urged him again, “Hurry up.”

Elijah kissed her forehead and whispered, “Wait for me.”

Freya said, “Okay.”

Elijah turned around and went to the bathroom. The smile on Freya’s face disappeared as soon as the bathroom door closed. She walked over to the table where a bottle of red wine sat. She reached out to pick it up, but hesitated. Then she thought of her child and didn’t hesitate to open it and pour the medicine into it.

The medicine wasn’t hers; it was Deck’s. The wine had also been arranged beforehand. After everything was ready, she sat on the bed and waited for Elijah to come out. Half an hour later, Elijah came out in a bathrobe, wiping his hair with a towel as he said, “You go shower now.”

Freya stood up and handed him the poured wine, “I ordered a bottle of red wine, try it.”

Elijah took it and said, “The wine here is never bad.”

Perhaps because Freya poured it, Elijah didn’t think much of it.

“Wait for me for a moment, I’m going downstairs to get something.” Freya said and walked out.

Elijah grabbed her and asked, “What do you need to buy?”

“You’ll know when I buy it back,” Freya smiled and pulled his hand away, “wait for me.”

With that, she walked out of the room without turning back. As soon as the door closed, Freya’s hand holding the doorknob trembled slightly. She raised her head and walked towards the elevator. The elevator doors opened, and just as she was about to step inside, Elara Montague stepped out.

Elara was wearing a red dress, her makeup was exquisitely done, obviously carefully dressed up. Upon seeing Freya, she showed no surprise. She was well aware of everything that had happened today. The thought of soon having Elijah made her smile with satisfaction. “I am the one chosen by Jack Silverton and will be the next Mrs Silverton. Thank you for stepping aside for me.”

Freya didn’t say a word and walked straight into the elevator, pressing the close button. However, Elara persisted and blocked the door for a moment longer. “Elijah’s grandfather is thoroughly disgusted with you now, so it would be best if you were more sensible and kept your distance from Elijah.” She warned.

“Elijah has a bad temper; you should think about how to please him instead of wasting time talking nonsense with me,” Freya replied as she removed Elara’s hand from her arm and closed the elevator doors.

As she walked out of the hotel, Freya aimlessly strolled along the street side. The lights were dazzlingly bright while neon signs flickered before her eyes in black-and-white. Although it wasn’t cold outside anymore, Freya felt chilled to her bones – not because of physical temperature but rather due to an icy heart.

She took a deep breath to calm herself down before heading towards the old mansion of the Silverton family to retrieve her son back.

Suddenly, someone grabbed her waist from behind.
