Wife by Day, Boss by Night

Chapter 242

Rosie’s eyes bulged, and she lowered her voice to a whisper. “With Brian’s? I never Imagined Mr. Howard for that sort of kink!”

Natalie wasn’t in the mood for jokes, and her brow furrowed as she replied softly, “It’s more important than nude photos. I’m toast if someone finds them!”

“Could it be in my car?” Rosie clambered from the backseat, adding, “You rode with me.”

Looking utterly frazzled, Natalie sighed and responded, “Okay, let’s check your car.”

“But I had my car serviced recently, and maybe…” Rosie trailed off, her face suddenly. ghost–white as she stared past Natalie.

Natalie, used to joking around with Rosie, spoke without thinking, not considering the consequences if someone else overheard.

Feeling a stiffness in her neck, Natalie turned to follow Rosie’s gaze, and there he was, the man staring at them with an unreadable expression.

So, this was how Rosie and Natalie talked about him when they thought they were alone?

Brian’s eyes flicked indifferently toward Rosie.

“Um… I’ll just go check my car, right!” Rosie blurted out an excuse and took off like a shot. Natalie watched Rosie make a break for it and couldn’t help but curse inwardly. Why did Rosie have to bring up Brian out of nowhere?

“Scrapped the shoot for this afternoon?” Brian’s gaze returned to Natalie, and he said in a

low voice.

“Looks like we might have to do a reshoot.” Natalie averted her eyes, replying quietly,

“Let’s not bother then,” Brian said, walking over and taking her hand, leading her toward his car.

Natalie had thought Brian wouldn’t be back for a few days, but here he was, returning after just a short while.

Lately, his visits had become too frequent, leaving her in a precarious situation. She was constantly worried that things might progress too swiftly. But having not seen him for a few days, she realized she did miss him, especially after what Bradley had said the day before. Her thoughts were all about Brian, leaving no room for anyone else.

She’d flubbed her lines twice during the morning shoot, leaving Miller looking like he’d seen a ghost, thinking she was unwell or off her game.

“So, If we’re not shooting, where to?” Natalie couldn’t help but ask.

To an exhibition with me, Brian replied indifferently.

Why would he need her to accompany him to an exhibition? Natalie was puzzled.

Brian had already prepared an outfit for Natalie in the car. She took it and examined the dress, a fairy– like, glamorous gown she’d seen just a few days ago on a live fashion show.

Haute couture usually took a month or two to be delivered, so by that timeline, this dress in her hands was the very one from the show, a unique piece in the world.

Brian had been a guest at that fashion show as invited, and when he saw the model wearing this dress, he thought it would suit Natalie perfectly. Only his Natalie could do justice to it. So, he’d acquired it.

Natalie stared at the dress for some time, then turned to look at Brian. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

“Don’t you like it?” he asked.

Natalie loved the shade of light blue, and it flattered her complexion and aura. She looked exquisite in it.

“Wearing this dress for an exhibition?” Natalie asked quietly.

“What’s wrong with that?” Brian retorted as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Natalie didn’t reply. She wouldn’t have asked if she had thought it reasonable.

But she was in her costume from the set, and this dress was the only alternative in the car. It seemed she had no choice.

She lowered the partition between the front and back seats, turned her back to Brian, and began to change.
