ALWAYS LOVE YOU
“Nick, we need to talk seriously!” Edward stood up and approached the spot where Nicholas was sitting. After completing the impromptu meeting in Nicholas’s office with several division heads, Edward chose to stay. There was something that, in his opinion, needed to be resolved promptly.
Nicholas, who was still busy signing some important documents, only responded briefly to Edward’s statement. “Get to the point. You know I’m not the type of person who likes to beat around the bush,” Nicholas said without shifting his gaze.
“It’s about Kimberly. You really went too far earlier. Why did you have to shout at her and drive her away like that?” Edward interrogated. His eye expression indicated his displeasure.
“I did what was appropriate, Ed. You know that if she spills drinks all over important documents on the table, I might have fired any other employee on the spot,” Nicholas replied casually. There was not a hint of guilt on his face.
Edward grunted in frustration. He had begun to think something was amiss with his friend. Nicholas was known for being strict, but this was the first time he had been so rough with a woman. Edward had been surprised when Kimberly became the target of his anger that morning. What was really going on with Nicholas?
“You’ve gone way too far, Nick!” Edward exclaimed. “Even if the documents got wet, they could easily be reprinted as many times as you want. But the heart of a woman you hurt, it may not heal as easily after what you did.”
Nicholas stopped what he was doing, opened one of the drawers on the side of the desk, and pulled something out, offering it to Edward. “See for yourself.”
Edward took what Nicholas handed him. His eyebrows furrowed as he examined each photo that showed Kimberly’s intimacy with another man. He finally understood what had made Nicholas so angry with Kimberly.
“Oh my God, even my handsome face got caught by your spy. If I had known it would be captured like this, I should have dressed up as handsomely as possible that afternoon. My pose here is really ugly.”
Just as the man finished his sentence, Nicholas intentionally threw his pen at Edward. “You’re crazy!” Nicholas scoffed.
“You’re the crazy one, Nick,” Edward retorted, unwilling to back down. “Moreover, how could you have someone tail your own girlfriend? How do you even know that this guy has a romantic relationship with her? For all you know, it could be just a sibling relationship.”ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
“You know it yourself, Ed. I’m not a guy who likes to share. I’ve even warned her repeatedly not to have any relations with other men. But the reality?” Nicholas paused. He took a deep breath. “You can draw your own conclusions. I don’t want to discuss this further now,” he continued.
Edward laughed mockingly. “Are you stupid or what? Or are you some kind of clairvoyant? How do you even know she has a relationship with that guy? Who knows, maybe it’s just a sibling relationship.”
Hearing those words, it was Nicholas’s turn to sigh. “I’ve met this guy a few times; it’s impossible that he’s her brother, Ed.”
“Why don’t you just ask Kimberly for an explanation directly?”
“For what?” Nicholas asked.
“For what do you think?” Edward replied, growing increasingly frustrated with his friend’s behavior. “Clearly, so that you don’t make assumptions and jump to conclusions on your own.”
“Enough, Ed, stop discussing this. I really don’t want to talk about it now,” Nicholas pleaded slightly this time. It was pointless to argue with Edward; the man always had clever answers.
Edward nodded in agreement. “Okay, I’ll leave. Besides, talking to you for too long might make me as foolish as you,” he teased. “Oh yeah, one more thing before I go. Don’t let me hear you regretting this later. If that happens, I’ll be the first one to mock you.” With that, Edward got up from his seat and gave Nicholas some time to think. Maybe he would come to his senses after this.
