Chapter 316
Chapter 316
“Plus, like Emmett said, I chose to do those things. I even got paid for it. So your family doesn’t need to take the blame. As for the kids, I’ve let them go. I can’t see them anymore.”
“What are you even talking about, kiddo?” Sophia blurted out, “Where are you? Let’s meet up and talk. You’re not going to ignore what I have to say, are you?”
Leah hesitated before answering. “If you come to see me and Emmett finds out, won’t that just cause more trouble between you two? It might affect your relationship as mother and son. It’s not worth it for you to go through all that for me.
“What do you mean ‘not worth it’? Even if we fight, he’s still my flesh and blood. And that Clara is just some poor woman who suddenly became all high and mighty!”
A small smile played on Leah’s lips.
“In my eyes, you’re a million times better than her! You’re the real mother of the kids. Of course I want you to be with my son!”
“But I…”
“No buts! Don’t do anything rash, okay? Let’s meet up and talk. Tell me where you are now, or else I’m really going to get angry!”
Leah pretended to hesitate before telling Sophia her location.
Then she hung up the phone, put it down, and headed straight for the parking garage to get her car and head to the hotel.
On the way, Elio called. Leah didn’t want to answer, but she was worried something might’ve happened on his end, so she picked up.
“What’s up? I’m kinda busy right now, so cut to the chase.”
“What are you busy with?” Elio asked, “Are you planning to screw Clara over again?”
“I’m just following my plan. What can I do to her? Isn’t she with you? Did you get the photos?”
“Got them. I had the reporter edit me out.”
Leah smirked, “That’s your call. I don’t care. All I want is for Emmett to get the wrong idea about Clara. Nothing else matters.”
Elio tried to say something else, “But…”
Leah didn’t have time for this. She hurriedly said, “We’ll talk later. I can’t talk right now.”
-She hung up and arrived at the hotel she was meeting Sophia at.
Leah was in such a hurry that she didn’t even bother parking properly. She rushed into the hotel suite and quickly pulled out a suitcase, stuffing clothes in it to make her act more convincing.
“Mr. Melendez, this man hasn’t booked a room at our hotel, but he’s visited several times. Here are his check-in records.”
Emmett took the records and checked them. Each time, Elio seemed to be in a rush and didn’t stay long.
But why would Elio be here if he hadn’t booked a room?
Emmett handed the records back to the manager, “Are you sure this guy hasn’t booked a room here?”Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
“Yes, I’m certain. Our hotel operates on a real-name system. There’s no chance we missed it.”
‘Then whose room was he visiting? Can you provide me with their information?”
Although the manager seemed a bit uneasy, he didn’t deny Emmett’s request. He just nodded nervously, “Sure, just give me a moment. Our system’s a bit complicated. We have professionals who handle this.”
“Alright, just make it quick. I don’t have much time.”
The manager nodded and left.
Matt whispered to Emmett, “Mr. Melendez, do you want me to do a little detective work?”
“No need. I trust the manager will provide with the accurate records.” Emmett was confident the manager wouldn’t dare hide anything from him.
He sat down on a couch in the hotel lobby, waiting for the results of the manager’s investigation.
Suddenly, Emmett saw a familiar figure.
