Chapter 50
Chapter 50
Katherine sat still in shock, trying to process all that just came out of her Baby daddy's mouth. He spoke with so much confidence and that angered her the most.
She had no idea when she threw her duvet aside, got down fram the bed, and matched towards him where he was seated. "You're nothing but an arrogant bastard and I would never allow my children to grow up with someone like you."
"You mean OUR children?" He mumbled with a small smile playing at the edge of his lips. No one dared to talk to Oliver in a rude manner, not even his father. God knows he couldn't stand any form of disrespect. But there was something so different about Katherine. He loved it when he saw this side of her. It was a huge turn-on for him.
"They are MINE. Sophie, Sebastian, and Sammie are mine only. I gave birth to them and took care of them alone while you were busy fucking different species and whoring around. You can't tell me what to do and who to allow in their lives because you don't have a say.”
“You must be so silly if you think your money will get you custody. I'm going to fight this out with you and make sure that I win.”
"I wouldn't dare me if I were you."
"Why?. You think I'm scared of you and your stupid money? To hell with you if you think I'm gonna give in to your silly threats or give up easily." “Bring it on, I'm going to show you what I can be capable of.
"Don't dare me, woman! God knows I'm trying my best to make this right. I'm trying to be civil with you but you're making it so damn hard. Don’t bring out the beast in me.”
“Does it look like I give a fuck about you or whatever Secret behavior you have? You're free to do your worst and I promise you that you're going to lose big time."
"Don't push me, Katherine. I'm trying my hardest not to be a beast." He glared at her Katherine found herself laughing. “What's the difference between you and a beast?"
"You definitely need to be taught some really good lessons. Me, you, and our kids will be leaving for Australia on Friday morning. We will get married on Saturday morning. Be prepared."
She had no choice but to burst into another round of laughter.
Oliver said nothing. He wasn't offended. He just stared at her as she laughed to her heart content.
"Are you done?" He asked with a calm voice when she was done.
"Have you ever tried going into comedy because that's the funniest shit I've ever heard?"
"I'm not joking with you, woman!",
Katherine frowned. Not only could she see the seriousness in his eyes, but she could also hear it in his voice.
"You...you don’t expect me to leave my life behind and follow you to Australia like a lost puppy. With your horrible lifestyle, there's no way I'm gonna allow my babies to be around someone like you. Never!"
"My job, my family. friends, home, you expect me to leave everything and go with you? That must be some kind of sick joke."
"I didn't go as far as breaking up whatever relationship you have with that thwart just to back out. I did what I did to make things go my way." "So you made these up?"
"He had some dark secrets so I used them to my advantage. It's his fault that he fucked up. I'm glad he did because he made things easy for me." "I'm not leaving here."
"You no longer have a say on that. Today's Saturday and I've been fair enough by giving you sufficient notice."
"To hell with you and your hallucinations. My kids and I are going nowhere."
"Then I might just have you tied up and then throw you into the private jet."
"I would love to see you achieve that!" She glared at him, so sure that there was no way she and her kids were going with him.
"We shall see about that!" He rose to his feet.
"You've got any questions before I take my leave?”
"There's no way in hell that I'm going anywhere with you.”
“It's a pity that you think I'm joking. Well, we will see about that."
After staring at her for a second, he took his leave
Ollie was a few steps away from the door when he stopped in his tracks. "That being said, I still want to see my kids tomorrow. It will be proper for them to get acquainted with me before we all move to Australia.”
With the way Katherine stared at him like he had horns in his head, Ollie knew she had a lot to say but not wanting to engage in any more heated conversation with her, especially after all that happened today, he helped himself out of her room
Oliver went straight to his temporary room. He took off his million-dollar jacket, took off his shoes, unbuttoned his shirt which he took off, and flinged on the bed.
Barefooted, he took slow steps towards his nightstand and poured himself two shots of alcohol he placed there earlier today.
He tucked his hand in his back pocket, brought out his phone, and dialed the last person on his call history.
"Yo, son. How's the wedding going?" Charles said, sounding rather cheerful
"Where are you, Dad?" Ollie asked curiously, knowing it was broad daylight in Australia.
"When did you become my bodyguard?" He said in a husky voice which prompted Ollie to roll his eyes.
"Trust me, I don't give two fucks about your present location. I just want to know where you are so I would know if you can help me carry out a favor."
"I'm in Victoria but I'll be going back to Queensland tomorrow. What do you want?" Charles knew his son was ridiculously independent. Independent in the sense that, he was used to doing stuff himself and hardly asked for favors. So whenever he did, Charles knew there was a serious situation
Oliver shook his head in disbelief. He needed no one to tell him what his father went to do in Victoria. The old man had the nerve to send him to a country that caused him so many responsibilities while he went on with his life as though nothing was wrong.
Since Oliver didn't say anything, his father spoke. "How did the wedding go? I've been waiting for feedback. Did Beatrice like her gift? You're coming back tomorrow right?”
"Yes, She likes them. No, I'll be coming back on Friday.”
"Wow. Says the man whe thinks I sent him to some hell in California."
"Dad!" Ollie mumbled, massaging his temple, "I'm in no mood for jokes. I have work to do in Australia. If itis not important, I won't wait extra days.” "Okay, so what's going on?”
"I will be coming back with Katherine and the triplets.”
"What? Sorry. I mean, are you sure about this? I know I told you to embrace reality and take responsibility but don't you think you're taking this too far?”
"I was hoping that instead of total neglect. you could agree on co-parenting. You visit them over there, they are free to come to Australia during holidays if they want to and you send Katherine money for support." Charles said at a go, trying to bring his Son back to his senses.
"I may be clueless as hell but I'm not going to take chances. They are coming home with me." "But...b...what did Katherine say? I mean they all have a life over there. You don’t want to take that away from them.”
"She has no say over this. They are all going to come with me. She has kept the kids to herself for good Seven years. And because of the nature of my work, I can't stay back in California. They have almost nothing to lose here so they will be the ones moving since I'll take care of everything.”
I've been in talks with the best lawyer over here. If Katherine wants to go to court, I have good grounds to win and with my influence, things will definitely go my way."
"Did she ask for this or you're the one initiating it?”
"Dad? Whose side are you on?”
“Of course, I'm on your side. I just want to know-f£ she's okay with this because if you're forcing her, then it's going tobe hard. After all, she’ s* going toGave a lot of hate for yous Trust AYE, living with someone that hates-you so much is the lastthing you-want to do. You may besleeping offe day and then your head will be gone. I don't mean it literally but there's going to be back-to-back troubles."
"I don't care. She's coming with me whether she likes it or not.”
"What about her job? Beatrice said she's now a Doctor. Her family, friends over there?”
‘I've got her job under control. She will work in one of the best hospitals in AustraliacGome on, you and I know theydon't do that extended < family shit. She only has a best.> friend.a housekeeper who is like a mothér to her, and the triplets naiiny. They are free to comie to Australia anytime. I'll tak@care of everything."
"And stop talking to make me look like the bad guy. I'm not bringing them all the way to Australia to suffer. They are definitely going to have a good life. I only want to be close to my kids so I'm doing all I can do to make it work."
“Gosh!!! Oliver massaged his temple as he walked up and down. "I can’t believe I just called them that!” Calling the triplets his kids felt so strange to him
"Of course, it will feel foreign to you but you'll definitely get used to it. Now that you're determined to be clase to them.”
"But son, have you thought this through well enough? It's a whole lot of responsibility. Are you sure you're ready for this?"
‘I’m not going to be like mom. I know I don't fave things all figured out right now know it's not going to come easy. Leaving my old = => addictedsways and suddenly becormng a family man. I knowI've got atot to learn and three little hufmans to make it up to. I Still haven't figured out how I FH balance this shit with work but I'm really hopeful."
The duo were silent for a few seconds.
"Wow. I don't know what to say. Like I actually wasn't expecting that from you. You sound way more mature than the person I've known all my life.”
"If that's what you want. then it's fine with me. Let me know how you want me to come through for you. I'll be glad to help." "Wait, what about a home? You live in a two-bedroom condo, remember?”ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
"Yeah, about that. I wanted you to help with the agent's contact. I want the best home in Queensland for my family. It should be in a good estate and of course not too far to the office. I need as many options as possible so by the weekend, we can come ta check them out and Katherine will make her pick."
"Okay, I'll reach out to him and sort that out while you focus on other stuff.”
Oliver nodded
"For the meantime, I'll share my bedroom with Katherine and the triplets will make use of the guest room."
"Sorry but I don't think she will want to share a room with you. Except you guys are on good terms or something?” "She has no choice. We are getting married on Saturday."
"What???? Oliver, you need to calm down. I know you are determined to take responsibility and make things right but don't run before you walk You're going to scare Katherine away. Your kids too. You don't want them to see you as a monster. Do you?”
"Katherine needs to be taught a lesson, Dad. so please just stay out of it. My children will not see me as a monster." Charles sighed. "Are you sure about this? I'm happy with your decision but I don't want you to ruin everything.”
I've got everything under control.”
"If you say so. How about Beatrice? Does she know about all of these?”
"Dad, forget about her. She's married. She has moved on.”
“Chill! I don’t mean it that way. Just want to know what she thinks about this.”
“It's still her wedding. Let her have her moment. I'll inform her tomorrow.”
"Okay. So I'll tell the pilot to cancel for tomorrow and reschedule for Friday.”
"Yes, the jet should be child friendly. Let them put whatever they have to put into it to achieve that. Food and snacks for kids too.” "Noted. I still can't believe I'm a Grandfather. I'll go look up some tips on the internet on how I should act.,"
Oliver rolled his eyes.
"I'll reach out to you again if I need anything else."
“Son!” Charles called before Ollie ended the call
"Easy on her!”
