Chapter 271 Let Him Give Up On You
Chapter 271 Let Him Give Up On You
Arvin sighed and walked into the office with Lily. They sat on the sofa, Arvin said, "Grandma, don't
worry about us, I will certainly bring Angela back."
Lily said, "To be frank, you made a very stupid decision. Angela is your wife, Rosa is just your ex-
girlfriend, why couldn't you have saved Angela first. If I were Angela, and I saw you holding your ex-
girlfriend in your arms and rushing out, I wouldn't have forgiven you either."
"I know, Grandma. But that was because Rosa's condition was critical......" Arvin said. Angela had been
mad at him a couple of times because of Rosa. Arvin realised that he shouldn't have to feel concerned
about Rosa anymore, because he owed her nothing from now on.
Lily sighed heavily. She could understand the situation Arvin faced at that time; he just did what a good
doctor would do. It was his duty to do so regardless of who it was.
However, she could also understand why Angela was heartbroken. Her husband's concern for his ex-
girlfriend, would naturally make her feel jealous and angry.
"In any case, you have to get Angela back. She said she was going to divorce you. You'd better come
up with a way to make it up to her and make her stay. Whatever you need me to do. Just say it."
Arvin smiled and nodded, "Okay, thank you, grandma."
He would have gone to get Angela back even if his grandma hadn't asked him to do so.
He had been used to living with Angela. He would have never allowed her to leave.
Angela was playing with Mandy's daughter in Xinhe Garden. The little girl got tired, so Angela took her
to sleep, and then when she turned on her mobile phone to check her Microblog, a news report popped
up: Adam Geng and Nita Zhen were both arrested. Randal had been arrested too.
Mandy put a bowl of chicken soup in front of her and she said, "Angela, dear, you must be hungry. You
barely ate anything. Come and have some soup, okay?" It had been two days since Angela came
back; she just confined herself to her room without mentioning anything, even though Mandy kept
asking her about what had happened.
Angela switched off her phone, and turned to Mandy, "Okay."
Angela had some soup and said to Mandy, "I'm going back to C country. You can stay here for as long
as you like, I have transferred the ownership to you." She figured she wouldn't come back, so she
didn't need the house anymore.
Mandy was shocked to hear that. She touched Angela's forehead and said, "What's the matter? Did
anything happen? How could you give me your house? You must be ill, let me take you to the hospital."
Angela shook her head, then went back to her room and took out a pad of paper. Mandy had a look at
them, and much to her amazement, they were divorce papers. "Angela, have you gone mad? Why are
you going to divorce Mr. Gu? He loves you so much, what on earth had happened?"
Angela doubted it. She sneered and thought, 'Yeah, maybe he loves me, but maybe he loves Rosa
even more.'
She couldn't bear the thought of sharing her man with anyone else.
Angela had made up her mind to leave. She went to Yao Hospital's R and D Department to fetch her
belongings and also to visit some of her old colleagues in VVIP of the in-patient department.
Lucy pulled her aside and told her that Rosa was in that room. She said, "Rosa is in critical condition
now. Tubes attached to her everywhere. She seems to be dying. Mr. Gu came to see her several times
before, but he stopped visiting her now, even when Rosa had asked for him. Angela, I wonder if Mr. GuNôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
has been deliberately ignoring her because he didn't want you to get angry at him again. He must really
love you very much."
Angela shook her head with a wry smile but didn't say anything.
To Lucy's surprise, Angela walked into Rosa's room. Angela found Rosa lying in bed with tubes going
in and out of her skin, just as Lucy had said.
Angela walked over to the bed. Rosa had sensed somebody come in so she opened her eyes to see
who it was.
She recognized who it was. Her eyes widened and then with a frail voice, she uttered, "Angela..."
Angela smiled and said, "You were working with Nita, weren't you? Are you happy now? Satisfied?"
She once believed that Rosa had done all the bad things because she was forced to do so by Nita. But
when she saw Rosa and Nita conspiring against her and Arvin, she realized how foolish she had been
to pity Rosa.
Rosa was paying for the consequences of her actions. She was given too much drugs by Nita, so she
overdosed and passed out. Later the doctor had told her that Arvin saved her just in time, otherwise
she would've been dead before she even got to the hospital.
Arvin... She loved him more and more.
Rosa struggled as she said to Angela, "Look, I will love him... until my last dying breath. In return for his
saving me so many times."
Angela kept silent for a while. She then took out something from her bag, and said, "Well, look at this,
I'm pregnant and Arvin's the Dad. With this child, do you think Arvin will ever come to see you again?"
Rosa couldn't believe it. She was too stunned to even breathe, let alone say anything back to Angela.
Angela began to sympathise with her out of pity, but she would't be fooled again. She said to her, "Even
the miserable deserve contempt for their wrong-doings. Rosa, do you think Arvin would give up on you
if I threatened him with this baby?"
"I will." She heard a man's voice coming from behind her, and it sounded very happy.
Angela was a little taken aback by that. She turned around to find Arvin standing behind her. 'When?
When did he get here?' she thought to herself.
Angela slowly and secretly put the report of the B-ultrasonic scanning back into her bag.
But it was too late for that.
Arvin rushed forward and held her by the wrist.
Angela struggled as he tried to get to her bag. Finally, he got the report, And opened it to check what it
said. Apparently, Angela had been pregnant for about seven weeks.
Arvin pinched himself to make sure he wasn't dreaming. Then he held Angela and said, "Honey, we're
are going to have a baby. I am going to be a Dad." He and Angela had been waiting for this moment for
a long time.
Rosa had never seen Arvin so happy and joyous in her life.
In spite of Angela's shyness and anger, he carried his wife and spun around as if he were eighteen
years old again.
Seeing Arvin like that made Rosa felt overwhelmed that she suffered another heart attack. The doctors
and nurses rushed into the room to save her.
Angela calmed herself down and tried to break free from Arvin, so she could leave the room.
But Arvin held on to her firmly.
Angela turned her head and yelled at Arvin, "Leave me alone, I don't want to see you at all. Not now,
not ever. Are you deaf? Haven't you heard what I've said?"
