we will be getting married
Slowly, Letta began to tidy up the items one by one that she had brought. Now she was in her new apartment. Although not as spacious as Mia’s, for Letta, this apartment was sufficient. Its strategic location and bustling environment made her feel comfortable. Several hours passed, and Letta finally managed to lay her body down to rest. However, suddenly someone pressed the doorbell of her apartment, startling Letta.
Without a chance to see who was behind the door, Letta opened it and was surprised to see a frightening smile from the person who suddenly came to visit her on her first day of moving.
“Good afternoon,” he greeted, and without waiting for Letta’s response, he pushed Letta’s apartment door and entered, surveying the room, causing Letta to clench her fists tightly.
“Are you not mannered?” Letta said, staring back at the tall man in front of her sharply.
“Are you sure you’re going to live in such a cramped room like this?” he said, ignoring Letta’s earlier question, making Letta dislike his manners even more.
“Sorry, but for me, this room is sufficient,” Letta replied, finally walking up to stand in front of Marco, who was still examining every corner of the room.
“Look, this entire room can’t even match the size of the room I have,” Marco said once again, boasting about what he owned, causing Letta to roll her eyes, especially since she didn’t ask for his opinion.
“I apologize if I’m bold, but I did invite you in, and I didn’t ask for your opinion about this apartment, so it would be better if you don’t have any other business, you can leave this cramped room,” Letta said, making Marco finally look in her direction after continuously scrutinizing the supposedly cramped room for several minutes.
“I want to tell you something important, and we need to talk now,” said Marco with his cold voice, which of course made Letta sigh heavily. It seemed like he was going to drain her energy and her mind again, when Letta really wanted to rest after arranging her belongings. However, Marco came suddenly and disrupted her resting time.
“But right now, I don’t want to discuss anything. I just want to rest. Don’t you know that today is my first day of moving, and I’ve been arranging some stuff all by myself? Do you know how tired I am? So, it would be better if you showed a little empathy and left this apartment,” Letta said, making Marco walk and then sit on the sofa in the middle of the room, as Letta could already predict the direction of the attitude of her former boss.
“I heard you resigned from the company. Why?” asked Marco, making Letta finally answer the arrogant man’s question. Letta knew that arguing with him would drain her energy, so it was better for her to speak calmly.
“I’m sure you wouldn’t want me to harm the fetus I’m carrying,” Letta said, making Marco nod his head. “Yes, you’re smart,” Marco said, making Letta just remain silent in response.
“So, I don’t need to force you to stop working, because you have taken that action on your own,” Marco said, making Letta look at him with a raised eyebrow.
“Yes, I did quit from your company, but I will look for a new job,” Letta said, making Marco immediately stare at her with a cynical gaze.
“That won’t happen,” Marco said, leaving Letta puzzled.
“Why are you prohibiting me from working?” Letta asked, making Marco nod his head.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“Yes, of course, I have to prohibit it,” Marco said.
“Respected Mr. Marco Jovanka, someone has to earn money to support their life, and to earn money, of course, I have to work. How can I not work? How will I pay for this apartment and daily meals? So it would be better if you stopped managing my life and ran your company properly,” Letta said firmly, making Marco silent as he stared in her direction.
“That’s why I came to see you to discuss this matter,” Marco said, making Letta furrow her brow.
“One week from now, we will be getting married, and you don’t need to stay in this cramped room anymore. I have prepared a house with all the facilities you need. I will also ensure the life and needs of the child you’re carrying,” Marco said, leaving Letta completely unable to utter a single word. She just remained silent, widening her eyes, unable to refuse the one-sided decision made by Marco.
“So, get ready to pack your things again because the house is ready to move in. So, you can move now,” Marco said once again, making Letta blink as she tried to regain her consciousness.
“Wait, did you just say something to me?” Letta asked, making Marco look at her with a raised eyebrow.
“Are you daydreaming again?” Marco asked, making Letta finally get up from her seat and fold her arms.
“How do you decide and order me to do this and that unilaterally? We don’t have any relationship, so you have no right to do it,” Letta said, glaring back at Marco with disapproval. With the baby she was carrying, Letta automatically felt a connection, and that relationship would be formalized one week from now.
“You have to be prepared for whatever happens,” Marco said, making Letta shake her head immediately.
“No, no, no, I don’t agree,” Letta said again.
“I don’t care whether you agree or not, but the marriage will still take place, whether you walk down the aisle voluntarily or I have to drag you. It makes no difference,” Marco said, making Letta feel completely hopeless. Marco’s arrogant nature and his insistence on his will made Letta feel frustrated.
