"Wanda, don't be angry," came Theo's deep and maic voice.

He came to me. He tried to hold me in his arms and utter soft whispers in my ear.

If it were before, I would have forgiven him immediately.

It was different this time. This was a matter of principle. He was hiding something from me, and no matter how much I prodded him, he refused to disclose even a bit of the matter.

I suddenly felt rattled. I was terrified that something had really happened to him.

"What are you hiding from me?"

Theo paused, his brows lowering slightly. "I'm not hiding anything from you."

"I want you to tell me the truth." I got up and looked at him, hoping that he would not be perfunctory or try to evade me. I wanted him to talk to me properly.
