Chapter 241
"It's bad enough that their real daughter was out there struggling but I heard Yvette dragged the company's stock price down several times, embarrassing herself. All of this was under the influence of the real daughter.
"Doesn't that prove the real daughter is competent and truly the heiress of the Nelson residence? How can they not get it?" someone suddenly said, shocking everyone else.
Thankfully, no maid of the Nelson family was around them. Someone said, "Lower your voice! The whole Nelson family is acting like they're under a spell. They only care about Yvette."
The previous person looked nervous. She patted her chest and said, "Exactly. They hate their real daughter believing she did it on purpose. If they know what you just said, they'd be furious! Okay, okay, I won't say anything more!" Yvette's grand-aunt said with a serious face, "Alright, this is their own business. We shouldn't get involved in it. Let's continue to fold the paper flowers!"
Rebecca followed Yvette upstairs to her bedroom. When she reached the door, she heard Yvette sobbing inside. Rebecca's heart sank. She pushed the door open immediately. "Yvette, who bullied you?"
Yvette was shocked. She looked surprised and hurriedly wiped away the tears from her face. She said, flustered, "Mom, no...* Rebecca said, "No?"
Rebecca took Yvette's hands and noticed
eyes were swollen. She obviously had tried very hard. She was heartbroken. "Why are you still trying to keep it from me?"
Yvette sobbed until she finally broke down. She threw herself into Rebecca's arms and cried, "Why? Felix must hate me. That's why he left me and became Lonely Bird's assistant.
"Felix doesn't want to help me. I don't know anything. No one else wants to team up with me. What should I do, Mom? I don't want to be on the show anymore. Can I quit it?"
She poured out all her grievances. Rebecca found the most important thing hearing her muddled words. "What? Felix is Lonely Bird's assistant?"
Yvette nodded tearfully. "Yes." Rebecca said furiously, "Outrageous! Nelson is going to work as an assistant? How dare they! I'm calling Kevin right now."
"Don't. Mom." Yvette quickly stopped her. "Mr. Jones is not involved in it. Don't blame it on him. It was Felix's choice. He insisted on it."
Yvette cried softly, "Felix admires Dr. Lonely Bird a lot. He finally got a chance to be around her. He wants to be closer to Dr. Lonely Bird. I understand it.
"Actually, everything makes sense. Since Felix joined the show, he's been very interested in everything about Dr. Lonely Bird. The first day Dr. Lonely Bird arrived at the hospital, she was misunderstood by a patient.
"Felix wanted to help her out even though he didn't know any self-defense skills at all. His hands are for writing and experiments yet he's willing to risk his life for her."
Yvette said with a trembling voice, feeling sad. "There was also a time during a group outing when Felix sat next to Dr. Lonely Bird and chatted happily with her. It was the first time I ever saw Felix so interested in a girl. "Even when Dr. Lonely Bird walked away, Felix couldn't take his eyes off her. He's really into Dr. Lonely Bird!"
As she spoke, tears flowed down her face even more uncontrollably. She couldn't help but cover her face and cry again, "Felix chose to work for Dr. Lonely Bird. I don't blame him. I'm just a little sad that Felix chose her over me."

Hearing this, Rebecca looked no longer shocked. She only looked angry. She thought her daughter was innocent and kind-hearted. She sounded like she believed Felix's kindness to Lonely Bird all stemmed from admiration. But Rebecca thought it was actually something different. She was surprised that Felix actually had fallen in love with Lonely Bird.
She thought, 'How could my son, outstanding and promising, love a doctor with an unknown background? Although she is Matthew's apprentice, it is unacceptable!'
The last time they met Lonely Bird was because of Yvette's illness. A patient would naturally admire and respect a highly skilled doctor. But now as a mother, Rebecca couldn't allow her son to love such an arrogant and rude woman! Rebecca looked fierce as she expressionlessly wiped the tears from Yvette's cheeks. She said lightly, "I'll handle it."
Yvette was startled. "Mom? No, please. I've already disappointed Felix once. I can't make him dislike me even more. Please, Mom, don't talk about it with Felix."All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
Yvette's pleading showed how much she valued her bond with Felix. Rebecca became angrier thinking that Felix was foolish.
Yvette was so heartbroken yet he was completely focused on another woman and even volunteered to be her servant. Rebecca thought a Nelson could never engage in such disgraceful things.
Rebecca gently comforted Yvette with a cold glint flickering in her eyes. "Sweetheart, don't worry, I won't say anything to Felix.
In her past life, Shakira only gave advice to Felix through emails. She never had direct interactions with him about work.
Felix, an arrogant genius, always looked down on Shakira and never treated her as his sister. He only pretended to care about her when he wanted her to donate a kidney to Yvette. That was the only time when he showed her a little bit of
concern.
This time, Felix volunteered to work for her as her assistant. It was the first time Shakira had experienced such thoughtful consideration from Felix.
