Chapter 249 The Argument

“Amelie. Something’s up outside.”

“What is it?”

“It looks like a paparazzo was busted, and Mr. Garcia went for his camera, and they fought.”

“A paparazzo?”

“Yeah. Can’t believe all that’s happened with this crew. Don’t be upset Amelie, it’s okay. It’s only the first day. It’ll get better later.”

Amelie said no more, but still felt uneasy.

Time flew, and it was almost noon already. Yet still no sign of the male.

Amelie looked at her phone, and saw no notification in her working group. She frowned a bit.

It was strange that the first day was unlucky.

“Amelie, who is this male lead?” said Belen quietly. “Even Mr. Garcia can’t touch him. I think we’d

better watch ourselves.”

“Of course.”

“Doesn’t it seem weird to you? Richard is also the name of Evans, is he related to Mr. Evans?”

“As you said, Amelie, something does sound off. They are probably related.”

“You’re right. We’d better not jump the gun right now. I’m curious about what happens next If Richard is really related to Albert, then the show will not go well.”

The sun was setting when a noise came from outside.

Amelie finally put down her script, and opened her window to look outside.

She was surprised to see an RV roll in.

The RV caught the attention of many staff members, including Mr. Garcia.

It seemed like someone was coming, with the size of this parade.

Amelie called out to Belen, who was just cutting her fruit.

“What’s up, Amelie?”

Belen came forward.

“Look, who it is.”

Belen followed through her gaze, and saw the man was no other than the guy on the poster,

“Richard is here?” Belen mumbled. “He sure took his sweet time. You’d think it’d be some big cheese, with this big a crowd.”

“He didn’t seem to be coming in peace. But we need to be present as well. Come on, let’s head out.”

“Amelie, you sure about this? Something seemed off about him.”

Belen was worried and tried to talk her down.

“Don’t forget that I am the female lead. Things could go really ugly if I don’t show up. Don’t worry. I got this. Come on.”

Amelie put on her calm face and her jacket, then left the lounge.

From a distance, it looked like Richard was arguing with Mr. Garcia. And beside him, his manager was also hot-headed. It must have had a dispute.

This has been one hell of a sight to behold, and if the paparazzi got hold of this, the show would become notorious, and cause quite a stir up on Twitter.

Amelie didn’t want anything bad happen to this fantastic show, not to mention her reputation was also at stake. So she hurried over to them. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Mr. Evans, I don’t know if you have read the contract, but we’ve both agreed on the time to begin production. Look at the time now. An entire production was delayed for a day because you arrived late. This show had been short on time and budget since the beginning, who’s gonna pay for the

losses?”

Mr. Garcia spoke his mind, and didn’t relent, even when facing down the Evans.

“Mr. Garcia, you got it all wrong. You came to Ricky the other day, and said you had to have him as the male lead. We’ve already got our hands full, and we wouldn’t have put off everything else for your show if it weren’t for Mr. Evans, and now you blame us? We were only half a day late. Is this

really necessary?”

The manager woman was also a tough cookie. She would not tolerate her Talent getting shunned and talked down upon.

“Very well then. Since you put it that way, you wouldn’t mind if I took it to court, would you? I got the contract right here, and I’d like to see how you lie through your teeth.”

Amelie knew Mr. Garcia from his way of handling things, that he was always by the book, especially when he’s got his own rules on everything. A director like this is very well-suited for his job. But on human relationships? That’s another Minotaur to deal with.

Amelie understood everything, then walked calmly to the director and pulled him aside.

Amelie’s showing up has garnered plenty of attention.

The crowd stepped back a bit. They came for a show, not to get themselves in trouble.

“We’re all in the same crew, and that’s something to be glad about. We are all friends. There’s no need for any confrontation. Mr. Evans, I have no idea why you came late, but from what I heard, a man like you is no troublemaker. You must have your reasons. Let’s lay it all out, and everything would be copacetic, am I not right?”

Mr. Garcia finally piped down with Amelie making peace.

Amelie was not just anyone, and the director knew that. He also realized he got a bit rash just now.

The manager woman took a good look at Amelie. There was contempt in her eyes, but she still spoke in a polite tone.

“So this is Ms. Mullen, then. Your reputation as an actor precedes you. I’m glad to see that you are as beautiful as you are capable.”

No one had any idea what the manager woman just said. Amelie didn’t mind about it either, and ignored her.

But then Richard spoke first.

“The film yesterday was delayed till 11 P.M, and I flew here overnight, only to arrive at noontime, hence the delay. Mr. Garcia, this was a misunderstanding from the start. You went mad at me without hearing me out first. I don’t think anyone would stand for that.”

Richard spoke for himself. The explanation seemed to have convinced everyone.

If things were really as the manager woman said, and the male lead came at Mr. Garcia’s personal request, then indeed, they will have to follow up on Richard’s schedule.

If any problem arise, they should work things out, instead of throwing fires at one another.

Mr. Garcia may be stubborn, but he would not confuse right from wrong when facing facts.
