The Rebirth of a Scorned Heiress

Yet she’s so ambitious

“Wait, isn’t that Celina Williams? What is she doing in the year two design class?”

“Maybe she’s here to scout for young designers for her family’s company?”

“Even if she is, year two designers are still amateurs, and they don’t have any immediate value; besides, she is the young miss; why would she personally do such a thing?”

The students gossiped as they passed beside the beautiful fairy-like lady standing outside the second-year design class.

“Is it me, or does she look more beautiful than the last time?”

“It’s not just you; I felt the same, but I thought I was blinded by the halo of her being my idol. She truly does look more beautiful than her runway show last month.”

“Do you think her beauty improvement is due to the new cosmetic product her family produced?”

“If it’s not that, then what would it be? Do you think the training and the products provided by the school are enough?”

As they gossiped, Celina continued looking at the entrance of the studio with anticipation in her eyes. Her eyes brightened up as she saw the person she had been waiting for walk out of the studio with her work bag in one hand and her phone in the other.

Unable to wait any longer, she walked up to Lily and met her halfway. “Excuse me!” She voiced out politely, trying to catch Lily’s attention. Lily, who was busy chatting with her new employee, Alana, about checking out the building, failed to hear her greetings and continued walking.

Unknown to her, her subconscious action had drawn more hatred towards her from the passersby.

“The wrench! How dare she ignore the goddess?”

“What an idiot, treating someone from Williams like that!”

“Tch, so unfair! How does that peasant deserve such recognition from someone like the goddess? Ah, that sounds wrong, but still!”

Celina ignored the gossip floating into her ears and continued walking behind Lily. She patted the other lady’s back and flashed her a genuine smile. “Hello!” She greeted her, and Celina’s smile brightened.

“I wanted to say thank you for helping me the last time! I was able to recover quickly because of you!” She appreciated it, and Lily finally recognised the other lady. “You don’t have to; I only helped because I could, and I’m glad you are alright now.”

“Then let me treat you to lunch! You can’t say no, or else I’ll keep pestering you till you accept!” Celina offered. Seeing the determined look on her face, Lily let out a sigh and reluctantly accepted.

“We can have lunch together, but can we fix it for some other day? I have some other commitments today,” she explained, and Celina hurriedly gave a nod. “No problem! Here is my number; you can call me anytime you are free! I have my schedule free all through the week, so you can call me anytime.” Celina explained excitedly, her eyes not leaving Lily’s smooth, soft, Jade-like face.

Somehow in her heart, she had concluded that Lily was the reason behind her skin improvement; after all, the doctor told her the drugs she had used were a detox that washed out the toxins in her body, enhancing her skin health. That had driven her determination to get close to Lily.

Lily, on the other hand, had a reason for accepting the lunch date. From the memories of the original owner of the body, she found out Celina’s identity. If Mark were the prince of the tech world, then Celina would be the princess.

Mrs Williams, Celina’s mother, is an international model with international companies that are into fashion and cosmetics. Having someone like her around would help Lily solve some minor and even major problems her new company might have to face.

With that in mind, she happily collected the card and promised to call her. Lydia, who had been watching the two, clenched her fist in annoyance while glaring at Lily with hatred. “Why must it always be you?” She gritted out. “You get everything so easily without having to bow to those snobby rich kids! Are you the only talented one around here?”

“You hate her, don’t you?” Merissa asked as she stood beside Lydia with a sneer on her face. Startled, Lydia moved to the side. “Wh… what are you talking about? How would I hate her for no reason?” She stammered, and Merissa chuckled with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.

“There is nothing to be scared of; even I hate her,” she confessed. “A peasant like her throwing her weight around just because she has a few tricks in her hand,” Merissa sneered angrily, her eyes glued to the backs of Lily and Celina, who were chatting as they walked.

“Why do you hate her? Did she do something to you? I thought both of you were friends.” Lydia probed, already smelling gossip. She has been trying to find dirt on Lily so she could ruin her reputation amongst the other students, but the other lady was just too clean; even the setup they did never worked.

To exaggerate her hatred, Merissa sneered angrily. “That wrench tried to seduce my brother!” She lied, and Lydia gasped in shock while her heart beat in excitement at the news. “Oh my! She appears so innocent, yet she’s so ambitious! What does she want by seducing your brother?” Lydia gasped and covered her mouth.

Merissa huffed and started walking. “What else could she want? Of course, it’s to climb the social ladder from her low life! I will never forgive her for using my brother like that.” She declared and stomped off angrily.

The excited Lydia could not wait to share the news with her friends and the rest of the school. She brought out her phone and immediately logged into her alternate account to post the news.

Fairy with Light: I found exciting news! Do you guys notice Merissa and the year-two talent queen had a fallout recently? Apparently, Lily tried to use Merissa’s brother to climb the social ladder! How shocking!

Immediately after the news was posted on the school forum, it attracted several gossiping people.

“No way! She looks so innocent and unbothered by the world, yet she’s so ambitious!”

“No wonder Merissa now hates her gut!”

“She’s such a slut! Pretending to be clean yet having such a black heart!”

“Hmph! I have always known she’s not a good person! Biting the hands that feed her!”

“Did you see, after failing at seducing her friend’s brother, she is targeting the goddess now?”

“The goddess must never associate with someone like her!”

While the school forum was boiling over with her ‘scandal’, Lily was busy making preparations for the opening of her company. She sat across from Alana and acknowledged the waitress who brought their meal before focusing on the report Alana had brought about the buildings.

“The first one on the list is the best; it has a conducive environment for a start-up business and an apartment where the staff members can sleep overnight in case of overworking, but the pricing is a little bit higher than the rest. You have to pay one million per year,” Alana explained with a distressed sign. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

One million for the people in her family isn’t much, but she is the suppressed daughter, and the lady in front of her is even worse, with her family living in the worst part of the city. “This one is also okay, and the pricing is affordable if you don’t look at the competition surrounding us. We just have to pay a hundred thousand per year, and they lease for three years; you can pay half, though,” she explained further and showed her a picture of another building.

Seeing the building, Lily immediately shook her head and turned back to the first building. She could see the commercial value of the first one at a glance. Not only is the place perfect for a studio, but they also have less competition, which would mean more market, and with the help of the mysterious system, she is sure they could make a hundred percent profit on their capital in one year.

She pushed the picture back to Alana and picked the first one. “We are going for this; make the payments immediately and see to it that everything needed is installed,” she instructed, passing the debit card to Alana.

Alana stared dumbstruck at Lily, unable to believe her ears. She knows best what Lily’s family’s financial situation is like; after all, the senior had always sold some handmade items in high school back then to support her family.

“Senior sister, did you not hear the price I called? It’s a million per year; we can’t afford that. What if we don’t make it in one year?” She asked worriedly, but Lily shook her head. “You have nothing to worry about; we will make it. There are five million on that card; lease the building and buy the other basic equipment; we will upgrade them as time goes on. Your store will be in charge of providing the fabrics we need. Is that okay?” Alana nodded, still in a daze at her new boss’ surprise.

Five million? She couldn’t help thinking about the figure. “Senior sister, did you borrow the money?” She asked curiously, not believing someone from Lily’s background could casually fish out that amount.

“I did not; you don’t have to worry; it’s not gotten illegal, but we still have to make every penny count, alright?” She asked, and Alana gave a nod. “My goal is to make our small company register and join the national fashion competition, so we have long days ahead. Be prepared.”
