VVIP Guest
By the time it was morning, Lily’s student profile was filled with several notifications about tags and mentions. As she looked through all the tags and comments, she felt excited and happy about the upcoming revenge.
She intended to wait until the competition before dealing with the one who had taken the life of the original owner, but thinking about it, she realised she could do more than one blow.
What is better than a one-time blow?
It’s slowly watching the reputation you’ve built for yourself crumble!
Instead of rushing to get her plans in motion, Lilly decided to get herself a hearty breakfast in the most expensive restaurant in the school. A hearty meal and a happy heart put one in the best mood for payback.
Upon entering the high-end restaurant casually dressed in a blue jean and a white top paired with white sneakers, she noticed all eyes were once again on her as people began gossiping about her.
“Isn’t that the person on the post? She’s a student at our school.”
“I heard she is a top student in the year two design department; her best friend is also a student here at this school! How heartbreaking it must be for the best friend to find out the girl was only friends with her so she could climb her brother’s bed.”
“How did she get into our school when her family is so dependent on others?”
“Dependent on others?”
“Did you not read the second post? It is said there that her best friend’s family are the ones helping her family sponsor their basic needs, even the clothes they wear!”
“And then she had a fallout with her best friend because she was caught trying to seduce her brother!”
“She looks so pure and innocent, but her heart is so black! How could you do something like that to your best friend?”
“I hope her good grades are also gotten through such means! People like her should be expelled from school!”C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.
“How did she even have the face to come here? She’s so shameless!”
“If I were in her shoes, I would have crawled under a rock ages ago!”
“You think people like her would be ashamed? Where will such a low life who grows up begging others for food get shame from?”
In other words, by their loud ‘gossiping’, Lily walked in and was met with a waitress halfway. “Excuse me, you can’t go in. Is there something you need or someone you’d like to meet?” the waitress questioned while blocking her way in. “Is this not open to the public?” Lily asked curiously as she realised she was not allowed past the waiting area.
The waitress smiled awkwardly. “Of course, it is open to the public for dining,” she replied, giving Lily a look over, quietly judging that she could not pay the bills for anything they sold.
“I am here to dine; can I go in now?” Lily demanded coldly; she could already tell this was another scene of the rich looking down on the poor, and it irritated her to no end. However, her plans for coming here to eat would not allow her to leave just like that.
{Give me five minutes, and I’ll help you get the VIP card for this restaurant! How dare they look down on you like that!} The system felt offended on its host’s behalf and immediately began typing away on its small system in its system space.
“Won’t they find out it’s a fake?” Lily asked curiously.
{Hehehe, are you still doubting my ability?}
“Fine, I’ll buy us five minutes.” Lily was brought out of her conversation with the system as she heard several snickers and a mocking laugh.
“I’m sorry, but you can’t dine here,” the waitress said, looking down her nose at Lily with an air of haughty superiority. “We don’t allow your type in here.” She sniffed disdain as if the very idea of a casually dressed diner in the restaurant was offensive. “I’m afraid you’ll have to leave.” Lily’s eyes flashed with anger, but she held her tongue.
“On what basis are you judging me? If I’m here to dine, don’t you think I have what it takes to dine here?” Lily demanded as she tried to take a step forward but was pushed back roughly by the waitress. “Like I said, you cannot enter this place; it’s not for poorly dressed people like you!” The waitress sneered.
Her manager had called her to deal with the poorly dressed woman, saying some of the diners were complaining that she was making them lose their appetite.
It was better to lose a nobody like her, who could not even afford a proper dress than to offend their VIP guests. With that, though, her attitude towards Lily became even more arrogant and contemptuous.
Lily staggered backwards and crashed into the wall, her eyes glinting with anger as she took in the arrogant attitude of the waitress. “Stop trying to find trouble here! We don’t allow beggars!” The waitress yelled, attracting the attention of the diners.
As Marissa walked into the restaurant with her entourage, her face lit up with delight as she saw Lily being turned away at the door. “Lily? Why are you here?” she called out with a friendly tone while putting on a matching smile.
The bad mood she had been in after reading online comments supporting Lily evaporated in an instant, replaced by gleeful anticipation. She knew this was the perfect opportunity to humiliate Lily and crush the small amount of support she had gained. “I’ve been trying to reach you these few days but I was told you were busy outside the campus. I heard the rumours going around about you. I’m sorry! I hope it didn’t affect you. Ah, what am I saying? It would affect you!” she said with a worried tone. She smiled in her heart as she saw the people begin to whisper, encouraging her to act unconsciously
“I already told the school board to take down the post but they haven’t been able to do it, but they’ll keep trying. I’m also going to be making a post to clarify the rumour. People can’t slander others like that!” She added It was true she had asked the school board to take down the post and that was only because some people were starting to defend Lily, not to save Lily’s reputation. After waiting for thirty minutes without seeing the post being taken down she called again and was told that the post had been tampered with by a hacker and they needed more time to take it down.
So as not to go crazy with anticipation she invited her friends out for breakfast hoping by the time they returned the post would have been taken down. Who would have thought the heavens were in support of her and allowed her to make herself look good?
“Look, I know it’s hard to believe but I never posted any of those. Even if you hurt me I would not air you like that!” she added, making it sound as though the posts were true and Lily had truly done them.
Lily sneered and glared at her then slowly turned back to the waitress to see that her expression and behaviour had changed.
The waitress dashed past her and politely welcomed Merrisa and her friends. “Welcome, please come with me; I’ll get you seated,” she beamed. Seeing the change in attitude, Merrisa gloated in her heart, feeling proud and happy about the humiliation that Lily had just experienced.
She knew that if the news of this event spread, it would further ruin Lily’s reputation. To make herself continue to be loved by everyone, she decided to pretend to be a caring friend.
Lily’s silence would only make her look guilty! And it looks like a good one! Continue being aloof and cold while you quietly fall into my trap!
‘Hmph! So what if you are talented? You are still nothing without a formidable background like mine! You will end up bowing and grovelling at my feet!’ she thought, plastering a smile as she walked up to Lily.
“Are you okay? Are you here to eat? Come on, you can come with my friends and me, and then all of us will split the bill,” she offered with an innocent smile, and Lily sneered.
“Let me ask you, Miss Merrisa, are you trying to appear innocent and caring, or is your guilt eating up your gut?” Lily questioned Merissa angrily as she flung Merissa’s hands away from holding her arms.
“What do you mean?” Merissa stammered while stepping back. “Don’t you know what I mean? Huh? You are pretending to be the innocent one out here, making others believe you are the best friend. How do you sleep at night with all the bad schema in your heart?” Lily asked with an intimidating voice, making Merissa flush in embarrassment.
Merrisa took several steps back, creating a distance between the two, as she suddenly felt suffocated by Lily’s intimidating aura. “How dare you talk to our customers that way?! I told you to stop causing trouble here and just…” The waitress choked on her words, and several gasps filled the air as Lily flashed a golden card with the restaurant logo in the air.
The waitress went stiff in shock, and her knees trembled in fear. “The golden card!” She exclaimed shakily, feeling her lungs short of air. “You are a VIP guest! I’m so sorry! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to treat you that way.” She bowed several times with her forehead touching her knees.
“It’s impossible!” Merrisa exclaimed, “There is no way it’s a real VIP card! That card is worth $10 million, and it can be used in any establishment owned by the Watson Group! She’s just a country bumpkin, always begging for good things from my family; she could never have something like that!” She added.
The waitress felt horrified by Merrisa’s running mouth, and the urge to have the ‘noble’ lady gagged and thrown out overwhelmed her. She stood up and glared at Merissa and her friends. “Not real? Even without me touching it, I can feel it’s real, and don’t you know that as long as a copy of a fake one is made anywhere, it would alert Watson’s security system? Please stop spouting nonsense and leave,” he ordered coldly.
“What are you talking about? You are trying to throw us out? Hmph, I dare you to call out the manager and allow them to check the card! There is no way someone like her who sleeps around can afford that card; I bet she does not even have a hundred dollars in her account.” Gia, Merrisa’s friend, countered.
“There is no need to call the manager; I believe I am qualified to check!” Celina announced as she walked out of the VIP boot of the restaurant. She took the card from Lily and quickly examined it. “It’s the real thing,” she announced, and everyone watching the show couldn’t help gaping in shock.
They all had one thought in their minds: ‘A pauper has such an expensive card in their hand?’
‘What begging? Even the Smith family does not have Watson’s VVIP card! Who’s lying and who’s not?’
She had been attracted by the commotion earlier, and knowing Lily was the one involved, she wanted to jump in and save the girl but was stopped by a certain someone.
“Miss Williams, I’m sorry my incompetence disrupted your meals; please forgive me,” the waitress bowed. Celina glanced at her and sneered. “You are fired,” she announced, and the waitress went pale in fear.
“But…but”
“You want to know why you were fired? It’s because you discriminate and disrespect our client. What’s wrong with what she is wearing? Can’t a lady decide to be casual? Do people have to wear designer clothes to eat at our restaurant? Forget it you are fired and that bald manager who instructed you to disrespect her, tells him I said he is also fired; both your services are no longer needed here.” Celina announced
A certain young master sitting inside one of the VIP boots could not help the frustration boiling inside him about his cousin’s overbearing attitude and momentum. She’s just like her mother,” he complained.
“As for you three,” Celina glared at Merrisa and her friends and said, “I don’t want to ever see you here again! Your family names are no longer registered in our restaurant business any more. Next time I see you causing trouble like this, I’ll ask the security to lock you up.”
