The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 109

Chapter 109

Meredith only felt that the more she thought about it, the more confused she became. She simply

covered her face with the quilt and went to sleep.

She'd better not think about the baby for now.

Because of Meredith's text message, Derek was in a good mood this day. At least, when his

subordinates made a mistake, he didn't lose his temper.

Even Damian could see that Derek was delighted.

It seemed that Miss Mason's influence on his boss is indeed greater than expected.

"Boss, the doctor said that Miss Mason can leave the hospital today. When do you think we should go

through the formalities? Do you need me to send someone to pick her up?"

Because of the kidnapping, Damian was now responsible for Meredith's safety, trying to avoid any

possible danger.

Derek shook his head. "No, I'll go over."

...

After work in the morning, Derek left the Xavier Group and drove directly to the hospital.

Meredith was sleeping in the ward. She was prone to drowsiness because she was now pregnant.

Also, she thought she can sleep anytime and anywhere.

Derek walked into the ward and saw Meredith sleeping peacefully. The sunlight shone on her fair and

beautiful face, giving her a faint halo, which made her feel more dreamy.

Unconsciously, the man lightened his steps and walked over. He stood by the bed and looked at

Meredith on the bed. His eyes were filled with affection that he had not even noticed.

Derek's eyes moved downwards and landed on Meredith's lips. The bright red lips were glistening like

jelly. The man could not help but lean down and leaned closer to Meredith's face, ready to kiss...

Suddenly, the nurse outside came in. "Miss Mason, get up and eat..."

Before she could finish her sentence, she was startled by the scene in front of her. Did she disturb him? Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

Derek immediately straightened up, feeling an unspeakable annoyance.

Was he bewitched by her beauty to kiss her?

Meredith heard the voice and her eyelashes trembled a few times before she regained consciousness.

"Oh, okay, I'll get up right away."

For the sake of her baby's health, she was now very careful to pay attention to the balance of her diet,

so she would obey whatever the nurse said.

As soon as she finished speaking, Meredith realized that there was another person beside her bed.

Derek stood by her bed with a strange expression.

Meredith glanced at him. "Why are you here?"

Wasn't Derek supposed to be busy at the company now? Why would he have time to come over?

"The doctor said you were discharged today. I'll take you back."

Derek said as if nothing had happened.

Meredith nodded. She did stay in hospital for about half a month and her body has almost recovered.

And the main thing she was embarrassed about was that her hospital stay plus the cost of hiring a

caregiver was all paid for by Derek.

But...

Thinking about the relationship between the child and Derek, Meredith thought there was nothing

wrong with letting him spend money nourishing the fetus. After all, this was his child.

But the father didn't know.

The nurse brought the food over. Her main task was to take care of Meredith and ensure her nutrition,

and that was why the food was always very generous.

Meredith was about to eat when something occurred to her. "Have you eaten?"

Derek shook his head. He rushed over as soon as he got off work. There was no time for dinner.

"Then... Maybe you can eat with me?"

Derek thought about it, nodded, and the nurse put a small table away. Both of them sat on both sides of

the table to eat.

Derek looked at the small bowl of rice that Meredith ate and couldn't help but frown.

It was no wonder she was so skinny. If others knew, they might think that he had abused her. Anyone

else who saw how thin she was would probably have thought he was abusing her by not letting her eat.

Thinking about it, the man picked up a piece of meat and put it into Meredith's bowl.

"Eat more, don't let people think that I won't give you food."

Meredith did not refuse. She lowered her head and couldn't help but fall into deep thought.

Was Derek concerned about her?

So, how would he react if he knew that the child in her stomach was his?

Perhaps because she was pregnant, Meredith's thoughts were a little weird.

However, she wasn't so impulsive that she told the truth just because Derek put the food into her bowl.

"By the way, Nova, how is she?"

Meredith thought of Nova, the woman who had impersonated herself.

"She's already abroad. Don't worry. She won't come back. Her brother is now in prison."

Derek told Meredith without hiding anything.

He didn't like Nova very much. But she was in trouble because of him, so he had to make up for her.

Then, he would only compensate her with money.

Nova's family also begged him to let Seth go, but Derek refused.

The thought of the image of the day Seth used drugs to rape Anna and almost succeeded was too

much for Derek to bear. So he used some tactics to get Seth straight to jail.

"Prison?" Meredith was surprised. She had since gone online to find out that for things like this kind of

attempted rape, the police tended not to go into detail, after all, there was no substantial harm to the

victim, and it was actually very difficult to convict the offender.

Because Derek later said that he would handle the matter, and no one had come to inform her about

the situation, Meredith thought that he had let Seth go for Nova.

But things were out of her expectations...

Was that the truth?

Somehow, Meredith felt touched. The feeling of someone backing her up and protecting her was

actually very good.

"Yes, so you don't have to worry. He can't and won't have the guts to take revenge on you."

Derek thought she was afraid, so he explained.

Meredith grunted, then said "thank you" softly.

It was only then that she realized that Derek had really helped her a lot from the beginning until now.

Although he was always saying bad things to her, he was really a reliable man in terms of action.

They had a harmonious lunch.

After dinner, Derek went to check out of the hospital. The nurse was leaving. Meredith thanked the

nurse for taking care of her all the time.

"Oh, it's my duty, but it's not me you should thank the most, it's your husband!"

The nurse had a good impression of Meredith. In the nurse's mind, Meredith never lost her temper and

was easy to talk to, so the nurse talked a little more.

"He asked me to come over and pay me twice as much as anyone else to take care of you. Also, he

was the one who took care of your hospitalization and discharge procedures. He's so handsome and

rich. You have to hold on to a man like that."

Meredith wanted to say that they were no longer husband and wife, but when she saw the woman's

eager eyes, she didn't say anything. "I see."

After the nurse left, Meredith's mood did not calm down at all. In fact, women's moods were wavering,

and they could become depressed or happy at the word of another person.

Derek's words and the nurse's persuasion just now moved her a little. She couldn't help but wonder if

Derek would be happy if he knew that the child was his.
