The Dark Side Of Fate

Chapter 312

Chapter 312

147 Arriving Gad

-Sylvester-

We arrived in Gad on the last flight from Lucland.

We flew economy, and our warriors were the entire passenger in the economy section. We looked like regular people, which brought no cause for alarm.

Ighor was with us, and he did not give us any trouble. In fact, he was very confident and composed.

Even though Vino claimed he was remorseful, I still had misgivings about him, but we were already on the journey; there was nothing to do but ensure we eliminated the enemy and survived.

In the worst-case scenario, we had to survive and return to our mates.

I ensured Ighor joined my pack so he won’t be able to link his friends when we get to Gad. Unlike Vino and Andrew, I still had my misgivings about the guy.

The flight wasn’t long, but I could feel the nervousness in the air. We could not interact as we wanted to because we did not want to be detected since it wasn’t our private plane. We did not have any prior arrangement with the airline company that we would be using their aircraft.

We arrived in Gad and went through immigration with our fake identifications without hassle.

We had to ensure that no one would know we were in Gad. It was necessary so we could catch Yuri off guard. We were also prepared in case it was a trap set by Ighor or Yuri.

Once we were out of the airport, the lords and Ighor joined me in a Van I had organised for us while our men went to lodge into hostels we had

booked ahead that were close to the Theater. We wanted them to be close by when we needed them.

I took out my phone and called Leo to find out where he was. He had not settled in the last time we spoke, so I figured he had sorted out accommodation by now.

He answered after a couple of rings.

“Where are you?” I asked him, avoiding mentioning his name. I did not know how influential Yuri was in the West, but if both head Alphas of the West were in his employ, we could not underestimate his reach.

“I rented a building close to the location of interest for surveillance purposes. Meet us at Lude Mansion. There is a party ongoing.” He said, and I wondered why he needed to add the last part. I told the Van driver where to take us, and we went there.

The building was a gated mansion on the road. It looked like a place wealthy people rented to stay if they did not fancy the hotel life. I wondered if Leo retained the staff or paid for them not to be there. It was hard to tell, but the building was dark, as if no one was inside.

The guards that discreetly let us in knew who we were, and I could link them, so I figured they were Leo’s men. Now that Leo belonged to my pack, temporarily, I could easily link his pack members too. It really came in handy.

The building wasn’t big, and it was close to the gate. The garden and driveway were relatively small. It was in a good position. Tall enough to spy from the windows on the second floor and close enough to give us a good view.

Seeing that it was one of the buildings around the Theater, I wondered why Larry did not purchase it for Yuri.

It also seemed new, so I figured it didn’t exist when Larry purchased properties for Yuri. It was to our advantage.

Leo must have gone through much trouble to rent the place. It was brilliant he came ahead of us because I was too busy training to think of things like this. Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

Leo met us at the door, and we were all happy to see him.

We extended handshakes and hugged him. Alexei, Clay and Devin were there too. I wondered if it was wise for the Stepanov brothers to come to the building because they were already on Yuri’s radar. I voiced my concerns, and Clay laughed, seeming happy about my concerns.

“Do not worry, your majesty; we came here in disguise. No one would know we are here,” Alexei said, and I was calm.

Leo looked at Ighor and frowned.

“What is he doing here?” he linked me.

’He has to attend the meeting,” I said, and Leo frowned.

“Before or after we have surrounded the place?” He linked back.

“After,” I replied, and it seemed Leo wasn’t comfortable at all, but there was little or nothing that could be done.

’Hope he is part of your pack now; the last thing we want is him Linking Yuri now that the bastard will be nearby,” He said, and I nodded immediately.

“That was taken care of before we came here,” I linked him, and Leo turned to lead us to where the surveillance was taking place. He walked ahead while we followed behind.

As we went up the stairs, I noticed the place was covered in plastic wraps, especially the furniture. Evidently, Leo intended to use the place only for a short time.

“I see you want to leave the building in a pristine condition,” David joked, and we laughed.

’Can’t tell what can happen. I do not plan to pay extra charges. This place was expensive, and I had to pay cash to avoid being traced,” Leo replied, and we laughed.

I had always suspected Leo of being a miser; his statement confirmed it. He could afford the building, yet he was cheap about it. 1

’Is there anything you do not cut cash on?’ Theodore asked him, and we laughed.

’Yes, a matter of fact, there is. I do not compromise when it comes to my mate,” Leo said, turning back on the stairs to look at us while flashing a brilliant smile.

We all laughed at that too.

It is evident with the expensive things Amelia wore. Even Tamia’s pieces of jewellery that arrived from the East were expensive.

We laughed and continued to climb the stairs until we got to a hallway.

Leo led us to a room, and we entered.

It was massive, with multiple windows. It was also dark except for the lights coming from outside. There was a clear view of the Theather and some buildings around it.

Leo came prepared for espionage.

There were Binoculars, cameras, and some radio devices with weird looking antennas.

He spent a lot getting all these things set up.

I take back my conclusions about Leo being a miser. It seemed he only spent money on things he deemed necessary. His men were there too.

Four were positioned at three different points, keeping their eyes on something.

’I have settled your warriors with mine on the next street. It will take ten to fifteen minutes for them to get here if a battle ensues,” Leo said, motioning us to join him by an expansive glass wall that seemed like a massive window but had no opening.

People afraid of heights could not stand close to it because it looked like a big opening anyone would fall out of.

“The three buildings over there are occupied by Stepanovs,” He said, his eyes glazed over as if he were communicating with someone. Soon his eyes returned to normal, but he seemed a bit worried, and I figured it was an update that wasn’t in our favour.

’I just received information that the meeting will occur tomorrow night and not next tomorrow as Ighor had led us to believe. My men just intercepted a phone communication and found out.

I do not know if Yuri will be here, but we are hopeful he will show up,” Leo said, and I could see why he wasn’t comfortable with Ighor being here. I was uncomfortable too.

“I thought you said you could detect their code, Andrew?’ I asked Andrew, and he did not know what to say. Instead, he looked at Ighor.

’I swear on my wolf that I wasn’t being smart. I wasn’t trying to deceive any of you. novelxo.com I think Yuri might have figured out that I was caught,” Ighor said, but I did not trust him.

We were better safe than sorry, so I asked two people on Leo’s team to take Ighor away from the place. We did not need him listening in on our conversation. We waited until they were gone before we continued our conversation.

’I honestly doubt he figured it out. I think they moved up the meeting so they could have the coronation. Lukman has been released from the cells and told me that a coronation is happening next tomorrow. There aren’t a lot of Stepanovs in Greenville as we speak, so Max and Kyle will have it easy,” Devin said, and I looked at Leo. It must have skipped his mind to tell me that part, but it was okay. There was too much on our minds already.

“Were your men able to estimate the number of Stepanovs around here?” I asked him, and Leo nodded.

’Between a hundred to a hundred and fifty. It is a rough guess, but it is nowhere near the number that Ighor said, but let us see what happens tomorrow. If the meeting is taking place tomorrow night, then they should all arrive tomorrow,’ Leo said, and I relaxed.

’I will reach out to Peter and find out what is going on,” Alexei said, and I looked at him surprised.

“You mean you are yet to figure out if they are battle ready? By now, novelxo.com they should have their troops around this area. Gad is a big city. The farther they are from here, the longer it will take them to get here,” I said, and Clay agreed with me.

“Yes, your majesty, but my brother and I did not want to risk it. We decided we would call them last minute. We are not a hundred percent sure that they won’t double-cross us. Having them move towards the area where the Theater is situated would be suspicious, especially if there are traitors in their midst,’ Clay said, and Marcel disagreed.

“There is no winning without risks. Whether we like it or not, the traitors will still work against us last minute. By making this decision, you have also weakened our support.

Both of you have the right to be in Gad; they already know you plan to attack the alphas of packs in the West.

You should call to move them here and let them know you will attack Billworth tomorrow evening.

It is an hour’s drive from here.

There is nothing but forest between Gad and Billworth, so it is plausible you will want them here ahead of time.

If traitors are in their midst, they will inform Yuri of your plans. He will communicate with his people in this vicinity; thanks to Leo’s gadgets, we can intercept their call and know their next line of action. It is a risk you should be willing to take, Alexei,” Marcel said, and even though I could understand Alexei’s point of view, I had to agree with Marcel. We had to take the risk.
