The Cherished Wife

Chapter 393

Chapter 393

Meanwhile, Winter stood in the quiet of the night. The atmosphere was as still as water. It was her first time stepping into the home that belonged to her and Xavier, and she could not help but feel a surge of happiness.

Previously, Xavier had been living with Joseph and Emilia, but Emilia had thought it was time for her son and daughter-in-law to have their own space, especially since they were both adults.

Hence, she arranged a marital home for them well in advance. The house was not far from the Harris family's residence. It was just next door, in fact, making them neighbors.

Considering that her daughter-in-law was a famous actress, likely to attract attention, Emilia spared no expense in preparing the home. She decorated it entirely in Winter's preferred style.

When Winter stepped inside, she was overjoyed. Even seeing Xavier drunk and passed out did not dampen her spirits at all.

"Winter, Xavier was just so happy today that he ended up drinking a bit too much. Please be patient with him," Emilia said, feeling slightly embarrassed as she looked at her son, who was sound asleep.

Then, she looked at Winter, who, despite being tired, remained poised and graceful.

"Don't worry, Xavier is my husband now. I'll take good care of him. It's getting late, so you guys should go home and rest," Winter replied, glancing at Joseph. "Goodnight!"

"Alright then. Take good care of Xavier. We're counting on you."

"Of course."

After seeing the couple off, Winter finally allowed herself to relax. She walked over to Xavier, whose handsome face was illuminated by the soft glow of the lamp. Smiling, she gently caressed his face. "You're finally mine," she whispered.

Winter undressed and took a shower. When she returned, she found that Xavier had already stripped off his clothes but was lying haphazardly across the bed. She approached him and began to clean him up.

Her hand paused as it reached a certain area before slowly wrapping around it.

In his drunken slumber, Xavier felt a warm hand. Instinctively, he flipped over, pinning the dreamlike figure beneath him and kissing her deeply.

When Winter awoke the next morning, she found Xavier still asleep beside her. She reached out to touch his face, and he suddenly opened his eyes.

He seemed momentarily disoriented until he remembered that they had gotten married the day before. Still, there was something about it that he could not quite place.

"Good morning," Winter said with a

smile. Seeing Xavier still in a daze she waved a hand in front of his. face. "Xavier, what's wrong? Why are you daydreaming first thing in the morning?" Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

"Nothing," Xavier replied, shaking his head. "I was just trying to remember how much I drank yesterday. It's all a blur."

"You certainly drank a lot. It took both your parents to help you into the room," Winter said, blushing slightly. "Come on, let's get up."

After they freshened up, Winter suddenly remembered something. "By the way, what did your uncle give you yesterday?"

"Uncle?"This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

Xavier's eyes darkened. "You mean Charles?"

He had complicated feelings toward Charles, especially after seeing him with Noelle the previous day. Xavier could not shake the discomfort of seeing Charles so at ease with Noelle. It stirred unpleasant emotions within him. Content

"Yeah, what's wrong? You don't seem too happy. Is there something going on between you and your uncle..."

"Don't refer to him as my uncle in

el

private. We're not even related by blood, and there's hardly any age difference between us!" Xavier snapped, his tone sharp. Winter quickly realized that Xavier did not like Charles very much. Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

In truth, Winter was not particularly fond of Charles either, though she could not quite put her finger on why.

Every time she saw him, she felt uneasy. "Fine, I won't call him that. It's not like it matters anyway."
