“You should rest and resume work after a week alright?” Alex said as he head out of the room together with Daniel

Wow, I got a week relief

I got up, had my bath, dressed and went out to meet him.

I thanked him over and over again and we had breakfast together.

“I want to go see my parents Alex.” I told Alex.

“Huh? Well, you could go”. he said a little hesitant and continued. “But hope you’re fine now.”

“Yes, I am” I responded, nodding my head.

(Sarah POV)

We haven’t heard anything from Claire for about a week now. Her line wasn’t going through and she wasn’t at home.

“I can’t face this all alone, Claire where are you?” I questioned, no one in particular.

Claire walked in through the hospital door, I was happy and I ran to give her a big hug.

But she seems unbothered.

We all gathered round her.

“I was locked up in the cell for four days, none of you showed up.” she blurted, trying to hide her anger.

“Ohh… sorry Claire we never heard anything, I reached out to you through messages, calls I even came to your house” I explained.

“Mom was in a critical condition and dad too, I was confused sis” I said.

“I’m sorry baby, I never wanted to leave.” she apologized, hugging me tightly “I can’t breathe ” I said laughing. Claire looked at me and we both burst out laughing.

She’s met with a mixture of emotions – joy, relief, and even anger. Her family is overjoyed to have her back, but they’re also angry at the injustice she’s been through.

(Claire’s POV )

In the evening, after talking with the doctor, one my way back to the room, I can see and hear some people whispering, I took a little peep and I could see a guy with a black suit talking to my mum in the hospital room, he is surely someone I know, I moved closer and I saw Alex.

Why Is he here? I thought, “Alex, let’s talk,” i said as I marched towards him

He is smiling broadly as he signaled to my mum.

“Why are you here sir? My mum is here and everyone” I said trying not to look stupid.

“Exactly, why I am here” he said, I dragged him out of the room, he was smiling following me.

“First of all, I want to explain some things to you” he said before I could start a conversation. “But, I’ll explain later, Claire we have to go to the station right now” he said this time he held my hands and dragged me towards his car.

We got in the car and he started “Kelvin was arrested and he has confessed.” he explained.

We went to the station together and Kelvin confessed to be sent by Mr Henry Thornton.

Henry Thornton is the CEO of ThornsTech, a rival company in the Tech industry.

He disclosed all that happened and the police just had to invite Mr Thornton to the station for questioning.

(Alex POV)

I knew I have offended Claire, I tried my best to put her family out of this and I warned Grace not to inform them.

“Claire, hope you’re not angry.

I told Grace not to inform your family about this, please put all blames on me.

I just wanted to handle it my own way and moreso they will be worried about you.” I explained.

“I am sorry Claire.” I apologized showing all sincerity

“It’s okay Alex, ” she consoled.

“I mean I was hurt, but the great news is that I am out now.” she said smiling.

“There’s something I want to ask you.” I said, drawing her attention.

“I went to your house address, but I heard you no longer live there, hope all is well”. I asked

“Yes, I couldn’t pay my debt and it was taken, I have no say or a place to stay now, just coming to some realities now” she said looking down.

“and the hospital bills are piling up right?” i said

“Yes, it’s hard and I don’t know what to do” she said

“Will you like to stay with me ?” I finally asked.

Filled with joy, I expected an answer

“No, she said… No, I can’t” she said

“Just think about it, you’ll stay with me, help me sleep and I will get back your house and also take care of your mum’s hospital bills” he said stealing a glance at me

“I can’t do that, I intend…..” I had to cut her short, “I will take that as a yes, you have no choice to but to fulfil my wish, So this is the second wish you are fulfilling, so I have 8 more to go” I said and looked away

Well I can’t say If she is excited or not, but I know she needs a shelter and she can trust me

“I will be more honored to have you in my house. I will pay you $300 per day for staying with me and making sure I have a conducive environment to sleep ” I added.

“I won’t say yes because of the money, but because I want to cover for my mistakes” she said but I could see her happy inside

“I’ll be moving in tomorrow, will that be okay?” she said.

“Yes, I have no problem with that.” I said

“You’re welcome anytime dear.” I answered.

“Wow, I will live with Claire Mathews under the same roof” I said as a pictured a scene where we’ll come back from work together.

This month has been full of different challenges, and experiences.

We are glad we pulled through, quite unharmed.

We drank, ate, danced and finally they headed back home.

We had a long day, and all I could think of is to take a shower and jump on my bed.

“No, she’s not guilty, as you can see also, she is someone I cherish now” I said answered

“No way Alex. I won’t accept this” she shouted.

Also you know I have been suffering from insomnia, since college days. And since this lady came in to my house, for the first time in many years I got to sleep well.”
