The ceo’s secretary

Chapter 3

“Finally,” Cynthia said as she stepped through the door.

“What’s up?”

“What are you doing with the vase?”

“You can’t be too sure.”

“You got to be kidding me! Would a murderer be knocking on your door in full daylight?”

“You have to watch this Adam Lee movie to see for yourself,” I said while pointing at the TV screen.

“That’s a movie, Alexi. It’s not always that smooth in real life.”

“Aren’t you supposed to still be at work?”

“Of course yes. I pretended to be sick, so Ellen gave me permission to leave. I can’t wait to hear the full story.”

“You got to be kidding me! You seem to be kidding me, Cynthia. You left your work to listen to my last-night story. I just wish I’m as lucky as you.”

“Lucky in which aspect?”

“Both aspect. Work life, love life.”

“Don’t you have a boyfriend?”

“I thought I did, but… I don’t know.”

“He must have been really good.” Cynthia whinedOriginal from NôvelDrama.Org.

“Extremely good. He changed my view of life.”

“Really?”

“Can you believe that I can’t even touch Peter’s dick?”

“Seriously! but when it comes to Peter, it shouldn’t be a shock.”

“And this guy made me do everything I wanted.”

“You touched him?”

“I touched him. I licked him. I sucked him. He made me believe that porn is real. With Peter, he believed in something else. I hardly saw his dick. He made everything difficult.”

“What is his name?”

“Not knowing his name made it more fun.”

“Wooooow”

“He blew my mind away. What do you care for?” I asked while making my way to the fridge.

“A Diet Coke”

“And what?”

“Just the diet, Coke.”

I took out two diet Cokes and a chocolate candy for myself and made my way back to the living room.

“Take”

“Okay, thank you. Now tell me what really happened last night.”

“I met him at the bar; we chatted for some minutes, and I later followed him to his room. I actually didn’t plan on spending the night there, but I slept off after the first round.”

“Did he go down on you?”

“Of course! Of course he did,” I said, thinking about how it felt to be sucked off. “He put his mouth on me and fucked me with his long tongue. I almost came when I felt his mouth on my pus.” I stopped talking because I had the feeling that someone was at the front door, and I was already reaching for the vase when Judith came in.

“I don’t think I’m watching this new film if this is the side effect,” Cynthia said.

“Good evening,” Judith said.

“Good evening. Welcome back,” Cynthia and I replied, respectively.

“Hope you fed Mama?”

“Of course I did. Why did you think I wouldn’t feed him?”

“Because you are you, you might not.”

“Weird name for a weird dog,” Cynthia said before taking another gulp of her drink.

“Thank you for the observation,” Judith said sarcastically while I gave Cynthia the “don’t say that” look.

I hardly talked about Mama to anyone. Mama stays in his cage most of the of the time because the only person who would walk him was Judith.

“Your sister is so weird,” Cynthia whispered to me.

“I heard that,” Judith replied.

“You weren’t supposed to.”

“Then stop saying sh*t in my house. I named him Mama because he looks like a girl.”

“Oh,” Cynthia said with a not-fully-hidden sarcasm.

“Stop it,” I mouthed to Cynthia, and I played my movie, which I have paused since Cynthia’s arrival.

“I think this is an indication that our discussion is over.” Cynthia said

“You guys can continue your discussion. I’m going to my room.” Judith excused

“Next time,” I mouthed to Cynthia. As if I were going to discuss such things while being under the same roof as Judith.

We both finished the episode, and I escorted Cynthia to her car.

“I think you should try it again,” Cynthia advised.

“Maybe if the guy is hot like that one.”

“Okay. Bye”

“Bye, and make sure to call me when you are home.”

“Alright,” Cynthia said, starting the car. “Alexi! What if the bad man is already waiting by my entrance?” she whined and zoomed off before I could reply.

Two more days went by in a blur, and on Thursday morning, I received the usual message from the last company.

‘Dear Miss Tyler

We are sorry to inform you that…’

I sat in front of the TV with a full bowl of chocolate ice cream and discussed my life with myself.

“So in three words, Alexi, you are jobless.” I said with a mouthful, “Just accept it; you can’t find a job in this city. This city isn’t meant for you. You aren’t good enough for this city. Is this how you are going to be forever? No job. No love life. No family but my sister. Nothing and nothing. You are just…”

My phone rang, and I hung up without checking the caller.

“You have never been anything good. You are nothing but a burden to Judith. You…”

My phone rang again, displaying Love on the screen, and I made a mental note to change his name back to Peter.

I picked up on the fourth ring and made my voice as neutral as possible.

“Hi,” I said.

“Hello”

“What’s up?”

“I’m cool, you?”

“Okay”

“I’m still at the office. So let me just go straight to the point. I’m thinking we should meet up if you’re less busy tonight.”

“I’m busy tonight.”

“Lexi, I’ve not seen you in days.”

“I know, but I’m busy tonight.”

“That was exactly what you said yesterday.”

“Because I was!”

“I’m not saying you weren’t Lexi. I’m just trying to understand what is going on. You’ve been acting strange since a few days ago, and I don’t understand what I did wrong.”

“I’m not just in the mood for a company, Peter. You, I, and Cynthia both graduated on the same day. You have a job; Cynthia does too, but what can I say about myself? Jobless, unemployable.”

“Lexi, I understand your pain. You know I will always be there for you, no matter what. Your pain is my pain, and your joy is my joy. Let’s see tonight and talk about it. Should I still be expecting you?”

“Okay. Our usual time”

“Alright then. Love you”

“Bye”
