Chapter 1257
Chapter 1257
“Besides, Mom, would you want to live with such a person?” Zephyr asked.
Mariah pondered for a moment and then said with a sigh, “Tell me, then. Do you want to divorce Harriet just because she did all this, or is it because what she did hurt Riley? Would you have decided to not divorce her if she hurt someone else instead?”
Zephyr pursed his thin lips and said, “No, I will divorce her regardless. Riley has nothing to do with it. For me, Riley is already in the past. Since she is in the past, I have no intention to keep her in mind.”
Everything that happened between him and Riley was in the past.
Although he was speaking to his mother, it was more like he was telling himself that.
He was constantly telling himself not to think about Riley anymore. Even if he still had feelings for that woman, it was time he stopped.
Rosalie was going back to Strico, and Riley came to see her off at the airport.
However, Rosalie didn’t expect Calvin to come see her off as well.
“Roxanne must have caused you some trouble when she came to see you before, huh?” Calvin asked.
Rosalie looked at Calvin and said, “I wouldn’t really call it a problem. It was just an accident. I didn’t expect this person to be your personal assistant, though. I know that I have no right to talk about your personal affairs, but if you hired this person as a personal assistant just to find a substitute, then… You’ll only make it harder for yourself to let go.”
She didn’t want him to be deeply trapped in the past.
After all, he clearly could pursue his own relationship.
There was a hint of bitterness hidden within Calvin’s faint smile. “I know. Don’t worry; I won’t find any more substitutes, and that person will no longer be my personal assistant.”
After all, she was not Rosalie no matter how similar the two looked.
“You fired her?” Rosalie was surprised.

“I only temporarily hired her as my personal assistant because I couldn’t bear to see her work in a nightclub. Now, even though I have fired her, she will be able to live a stable life with what I have given her. That is, if she behaves herself.”
Rosalie looked at the time and saw that it was almost time to board.
“All right; it’s time for me to board my flight.”
“Okay, have a safe trip!” Riley said.
Calvin looked at Rosalie as if he couldn’t bring himself to say goodbye.
He had to watch her leave him again. It was as though her leaving was all he deserved.
“Bye,” Rosalie said to Calvin.
Calvin pursed his lips and held out his right hand. He didn’t want to say goodbye. All he wanted was to shake her hand to bid her farewell.
Seeing this, Rosalie held out her hand as well.
Just like that, they shook each other’s hands. Calvin stared at her hand and felt the heat coming from it.
At that moment, he had a flashback of their childhood days and recalled how she had held his hand tightly on that mountain so he wouldn’t fall off the cliff.
He wished he could continue holding her hand tightly.
Suddenly, Rosalie frowned and withdrew her hand. She then covered her mouth and rushed to the nearby bathroom, where she began to vomit violently.
Riley hurriedly followed her into the bathroom, looking worried.
As Calvin stood outside the bathroom, something seemed to flash within his eyes.
Rosalie continued to vomit and retch until she finally had nothing left to throw up. Then, she rinsed her mouth, Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
“What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?” Riley asked.
“My appetite has been poor these past few days. I think it has something
to do with indigestion,” Rosalie said, feeling a little more comfortable

after vomiting.
When they walked out of the bathroom, Riley turned toward Rosalie and said, “Make sure to visit a doctor after you return to Strico and get your stomach treated.”
“Okay.” Rosalie smiled gently and looked at Riley and Calvin again. “Well, I should proceed to board the flight now!”
It wasn’t until she stepped forward that Calvin grabbed her wrist and said, “You can’t board the plane just yet.”
“Why not?” Rosalie asked curiously.
His eyes were staring into hers as a possibility flashed through his mind. Even if this possibility made his heart feel heavy, he still had to tell her. “Have you ever considered that your vomiting may not be caused by your indigestion, but because you are pregnant?”
Rosalie was stunned and thought to herself, “Pregnant?”
Rosalie could hardly believe Calvin’s conclusion. “How is that possible?” It was not easy for her to conceive, so she was considered lucky to have conceived triplets and have a successful C-section.
What’s more, Jonathan had gotten vasectomy done for fear of her getting pregnant again. As such, it was unlikely that she could be pregnant.
That was why she never considered the possibility of pregnancy even though she had vomited several times before.
“Is it really impossible? Did you go to the hospital for an examination?” Calvin asked.
Rosalie was silent as she didn’t go to the hospital for an examination. She then recalled how her vomiting, bad appetite throughout the past few days, and her sudden craving for desserts, were similar to her symptoms during pregnancy.
“Could it be? Am I really pregnant with another baby?” she thought to herself as she looked at her abdomen in surprise.
“Go get an examination, and you’ll know whether you are pregnant or not.” Calvin’s voice sounded in her ear
Half an hour later, Rosalie waited anxiously at the hospital for the results of her blood test.

Although she had repeatedly told herself that the possibility was very small, she couldn’t help but wonder if there really existed a little life in her tummy.
Riley sat beside Rosalie and kept her company.
Calvin stood at the door not far away and leaned against it in silence. He had his head down and seemed to be in deep thought.
Time soon went by. When it was time, Rosalie got the blood test report and looked at the two familiar numbers of the blood indicators above. She didn’t even need a doctor to tell her that she was pregnant.
She was really pregnant with a baby.
“You really are pregnant!” Calvin muttered next to Rosalie’s ear. As soon as she looked up, she saw that Calvin had come to her, and his eyes were fixated on the test report in her hand.
“Yeah, I am,” Rosalie replied with a faint smile.
She and Jonathan had another baby, but she didn’t expect to get pregnant again under such circumstances.
