Chapter 40
Chapter 40
“He's asking if you're crying,” Cayden stated in a hoarse voice, kissing her earlobe from behind. “Hmm? Are you?” From NôvelDrama.Org.
At this moment, a streak of lightning appeared, followed by a clap of thunder.
Seizing the opportunity, Avery cursed, “Cayden, you pervert!”
“Yup, I'm a gentleman to everyone else. This side of me is only reserved for you,” Cayden retorted, biting her earlobe.
His hand slid across her waist and landed on her cute navel before he started rubbing it roughly with his thumb.
The sensation was too much for Avery, so she instinctively arched her back and lifted her head, resisting the man's touch.
Her gesture only made it easier for Cayden.
Just then, Zayne, who was still outside, uttered, “Ery, I was too emotional that day, and I went over the line. I'm sorry. Even my mom scolded me when I returned home. She said I was useless for not being able to keep my woman. Somebody in your residential area informed my mom that you've brought a man home and were even being all lovey-dovey downstairs. Then when I thought of the flowers you received, I... My heart hurts so much. I don't know how much the air-freight flowers cost, but I know I can't spend my hard-earned money on something like that, and I hate it! I hate that I can't give you what others can!”
As his words fell, everything was silent. He thought Avery was listening to him on the other side of the door.
“My mom's mad because you're the perfect daughter-in-law for her. Even though we're merely engaged, my mom treats you like her own. Honestly, what kind of mother would want to see their daughter secretly bringing another man home?”
There was no reply from the other side of the door, but there was the sound of movement, so he thought she was still there, crying.
“Ery, come out after you're done crying, okay? Explain to my mom and apologize to her.”
In the meantime, Avery's hands and body were pressed against the door, with no gap at all—there was nowhere for her to retreat.
The man behind her was still trying to test her limit.
Even so, she still heard what Zayne said, which agonized her.
Everything happened before I was in some sort of relationship with Cayden. The so-called “lovey- dovey” is also merely us briefly conversing with each other—and unpleasantly at that. Even Deborah mentioned she witnessed how cold Cayden was toward me. Sadly though, some people will blindly buy such stories. Not just some people—Zayne and his mother. He didn't even give me a chance to defend myself. No, he's straight-up convinced that I was a sugar baby, and that's why I could complete my studies and return to the country. What irks me the most is that the “evidence” all came from Milana's mouth. I didn't know that's all it takes for him to get talked around. Sometimes I don't even know if
Milana's too smart or Zayne's too dumb.
Bearing that thought in mind, Avery felt her mood turn sour, but she did not even have the time for that when Cayden punished her.
“Ah! No! Oh... Ah!”
Avery felt as though his breath alone could ruin her.
Cayden's eyes turned a fiery red as he looked down at her soft bosom that was being pressed against the door.
Naturally, he paid no heed to Zayne's words. Turning her limp body around, Cayden forced the woman to face him.
As Cayden made Avery look at his face, other than the hotness she felt all over her face, everything else was completely numb.
How am I going to face myself after this? I'm ashamed.
Though Zayne had humiliated her with his words and even trampled on her dignity before, here she was, doing such intimate things with another man on the other side of the door.
She blushed from her face all the way to her neck, and her red lips were swollen due to their previous kiss.
Releasing her wrists, Cayden pulled her in from the back of her head and attached his lips to hers,
wanting to devour her.
The man was being rough.
“Mmm!” Since Avery's hands were freed, she used them to beat him while shaking her head, trying to break free from him, but of course, he was stronger.
“Wasn't this what you wanted? Why are you resisting?”
“No...” Avery shook her head, tears rolling down her cheeks.
For the past five years, she had dedicated herself to living a “clean” life—she rarely even watched any romance movies. Hence, such sudden attacks were unbearable for her.
Once again, Cayden captured her lips. This time, his other hand did not sit idly.
It was too much for Avery that she lost control as she stood on her tip-toes.
Their low voices were never-ending.
Avery did not know if she was catering to him or not, but she found herself wanting more.
Right at this moment, Cayden pulled away and picked her up. Turning around, he walked to the other side.
Before she could wrap her arms around his neck, he pinned her against the bed.
She had just changed her bedsheet when she returned from the hospital earlier. The whiteness of the bedsheet matched the fairness of her skin. Seeing that, coupled with the vulnerable Avery, the man was even more stimulated.
“No, get out... You animal!” Avery crawled backward as if she was seeing a monster.
At the same time, Zayne was still babbling outside. When he heard no movements from the other side, he frowned and listened closely, only to hear another sound.
“Ery, what's going on?” he questioned while banging on the door.
“Talk to me, Ery! Don't scare me! Say something!” he shouted, still pounding on the door.
Avery was on the verge of crying as her watery eyes darted toward the frail door. With Zayne's constant pounding, the door could be shattered at any time, and she was afraid of that.
When Cayden noticed how the woman was scared that Zayne would burst in, his expression darkened. Grabbing her ankle with one hand, he pulled her toward him.
“Ah!” Avery screamed, startled.
Zayne stopped pounding on the door for a while, but then he immediately started kicking it.
Bang!
“Who's inside! You better come out!” he bellowed like a madman.
Driven by fury, Zayne analyzed the situation and came to the conclusion that there was indeed a man inside. “You wench!”
