MISTAKE 174
Chapter 174: A Familiar Face
“You get up this moment or I will kill you,” James said. Stella stiffened the moment she saw his face. She could recognize this face even in her sleep. This was her husband, James, who disappeared years ago.
“Help me, please, the vines. I am really trying to get off,” Stella insisted. He looked at her and pulled her off him very easily. It was as though she was a light as a feather. But she was not put down; she was instead flung in an unknown direction. She could not believe it. What had she done wrong?
Stella folded into herself like a fetus, protecting her head in the process, as she slammed into a tree. She coughed wildly as she tried to stand. She did not bother to check where James was; as far as she was concerned, it was good as long as she did not meet him again. From his expression, he did not recognize her. Had she gotten old? She suppressed the biter feeling in her chest and took a deep breath. She got up quickly and limped away. She could feel that she had broken something.
Back in reality, Anya hurried into the hospital, asking Daniel what was going on.
“Calm down, baby,” Daniel said.
“How can I calm down? What are you saying?” Anya said urgently as she rushed forward.
They entered the hospital room flustered.

“What is going on?” She asked. Stella had been moved to a secure wing and was now surrounded by a team of three scientists.
“She is stuck in a dream,” one of them explained.
“A dream?” she asked.
“Yes. A dream of the past. Her brain suddenly became very active. We have been studying the machine. We were able to link her into the space she was in before,” another scientist said.
“Isn’t this dangerous?” Anya asked.
To get her out, we need to trace her steps. We found that she is linking with another marine on and off,” one of them explained.
та
“What machine?” Anya asked.
“We don’t know. From what we could find in her machine’s history, they had her sathing her dream for some reason. Well, it is working. Her mind is going wild searching. It has linked with another mind.”
“Another mind!”
“Your father?” Daniel asked.
Mean while, inside the dream, Stella walked for a while before seeing a village, which calmed her greatly. She was not sure where she was, and honestly, she did not care. She did not have anywhere to go and was already quite injured. She walked into the village to find that if looked like something out of a period drama. The roads were paved in stone, and the houses were of ancient architecture. She walked into an inn to find out how much a room cost and was told it cost two coppers, making her pause. Copper? What was going on?
She left the room and wondered if she had been sucked into a different time zone with that
gush of wind. What was going on?
In the distance, she saw James perched on a tree watching her. She turned around quickly and walked into the forest. No matter what, she was sure she could survive if she found a place
good enough. But before she could walk far enough, she heard a person shout. It was a little. girl drowning in the distance. She dashed forward to save her, dragging her from the water easily. The moment the girl’s feet touched the ground, she started screaming.
“Oh, so that kind of time,” Stella sighed and dashed away before the child could return with more people. But she did not go far when she spotted James, who had blocked her path.
“What do you want?” Stella asked.
“How can a stone not know how to get out of this? Did your people not bring us here?” James
asked.
“What Stone?” Stella asked.
“Fix this, or I will hand you to them to kill,” James insisted.
“Hold on, hold on. Explain to me what this stone is,” Stella said, and James made to grab her only to be stabbed by something. He was not sure what it was, but his arm suddenly became numb.
“What did you do?” James asked and dropped to the ground. This shocked Stella so much that she was not sure if to leave him there or run. This was someone who wanted to kill her,
though. She looked at his beautiful face and hazy eyes and swore. How could he not recognize
her?
“If you kill me after I save you, I will hunt you like a ghost. Stella said and helped him up. She grabbed under his arm and sped away. She found a nice cave and placed him down.
“What is wrong with you?” she asked as she started looking around his arm to find why he seemed paralyzed. She opened his arm, and under his sleeve, she found a spike stuck there.
“Just a little poison. You are a man, are you not?” Stella asked bitterly, and his hazy eyes NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
glanced at her momentarily.
For some reason, he looked cute when he was weak. She immediately threw away the thought and looked at his arm turning blue. There were very few poisons that could actually work on
him. This made Stella wonder if this world was real.
“A hell plant. You poisoned me with a hell plant?” He asked, and she paused and looked at him hesitantly.
Even though she was sure this was a dream, he was different. He seemed to think this was reality.
What was she to do now? The poison, could it harm him in the dream? He seemed like he did not care if he died. Should she help him? She wondered. She got up and paced for a while. His matter was easy to solve yet complicated at the same time. She left the cave and looked at the
wound.
There was only one thing that could dull most poisons for a while; it was a water lily. She looked around till she found one floating in the middle of a still lake. This lake was so still, she dared not enter the water. She stared at the lily a bit, then jumped over quickly, grabbing it in
one go,
before landing on a rock. She looked at the lily in her hand and decided, since she had found it, she might as well use it.
When she returned to the cave, he was still lying there. She slowly removed his clothes and rubbed the flower all over him before covering him back up and sitting aside. She closed her eyes a bit to rest, and when she woke up, he was seated on the cave floor watching her. She jolted up when she noticed his eyes.
“You are awake?” she asked.
“What did you do to me?” he asked.
“I did not do anything. You were poisoned with Hell’s plant, like you said. I put some water lily
on your body,” Stella said to him.
“Why was I poisoned in the first place?” he asked
“You tell me,” she retorted. James knew he did not have the strength to fight her right now, so he let it go. They sat in silence for a while before Stella asked where they were.
“I should be the one asking this. This entire thing is your clan’s doing!” James scolded. She paused at this. Her clan? Was he referring to her family? She could see them going that far. She did not think that they had this kind of ability.
“I am not sure what you mean; they threw me out of the family. I have no clan or family, so I will not take the blame for other people’s sins,” Stella answered, looking away.
