Chapter 223
Chapter 223
“I’m legit scared.” Who wouldn’t be in this unfamiliar environment, smack dab in the middle of the wild jungle? Allison smirked sarcastically, “But scared or not, I gotta give it a shot. Sure, 30 grand might be chump change for you, but it’s a lifesaver for me”
Her phone buzzed abruptly.
Pulling it out, she saw it was Jason calling. She picked up, “Jason.”
She didn’t notice Lucian’s face souring. He seemed to dislike Jason having anything to do with Allison mainly.
“I’m at Line 3 now, you’re coming to find me? That’s kind of out in the boonies, but alright.”
After hanging up, Allison headed towards the lake, scooping up some water to wash her face. She’d been here all morning and her face had become
grimy
“Why did you sell your virginity? Was Jason the buyer?”
Allison thought she’d heard wrong; she looked at Lucian, “What?” She’d seriously doubt her hearing if there were anyone else here besides them
She looked around and then turned to Lucian, “Are you asking who I sold my first time to? Mr Lindberg, don’t you think you’re sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong? But if you really want to know.” Allison seemed to ponder for a moment, “Give me ten thousand dollars, I’ll tell you the answer”
Lucian’s face turned gloomy.
He looked at her nonchalant smile, furrowed his brows and turned to leave, a hint of disgust and disappointment in his eyes. He pushed through the waist–high foliage and stalked off. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
Allison watched his retreating figure; her eyes dimmed and the indifference from before disappeared:
“Why did I have to sell my virginity” She didn’t want this, but she was driven into a corne
”
Following the map, she found the “treasure” ten minutes later. The so–called treasure was just a wooden box with a flag inside. She stuffed the flag into her bag, slung it over her shoulder, and prepared to head back.
It was getting late. If she didn’t hurry back, it would become a massive mess once the night fell.
Exploring here during the day was alright, but it could get really sketchy at night.
Allison picked up her pace.
Walking along, she noticed that the route was incorrect..
She saw a dense jungle and mountain road ahead, and it was obvious that she had not walked here. She started to panic a bit, immediately pulled out her phone and launched the GPS, but to her surprise, there was no signal.
Allison glanced at the time, it was 4:25 PM. She had to get out within an hour, or she’d get stuck once it got dark.
Above her, a helicopter was circling. She stretched out her arm, waving frantically.
Tm here!!!”
But the helicopter didn’t spot her; after a few rounds, it slowly flew away.
Allison quickened her steps, retracing her path. She tried her best to stay calm, telling herself not to be afraid and that everything would be okay.
The surroundings were eerily quiet, it seemed like she was the only one there.
The only sounds were the chirping of insects and the calls of birds.
The unfamiliar and silent environment only made her more tense.
She started running, slipped, and fell, scraping a wound on her palm. She didn’t have time to bandage it and immediately checked her phone, only to find no signal, and the battery was down to 32%..
Suddenly, she heard a faint sound from behind.
Allison paled. Her voice trembled, “Lucian, is that you?”
No response.
She didn’t dare to look back, she got up and bolted, disregarding her wound. And so, she got completely lost in the forest.
Allison stopped in her tracks, looking around.
Everything in front of her seemed to spin, as if she was in a vast forest maze, unable to find the exit no matter what. The more she thought about it, the more confused she became.
