R Chapter 33
Chapter 33
Grace’s lips were pale; she gently moved them as her eyes sparkled, “Penelope… oh, no, Ms.
Flanagan, what brings you to the hospital?” Allison looked at her mother, she had been busy playing
“Penelope’ these past few days, finally finding the time to visit her mother today. But as soon as she
arrived at the hospital, she was informed that her mother had gone for a check-up, and before she
could see her, she was called by Leah Flanagan-Eaden to play Penelope.
After not seeing her for a few days, Grace seemed to have lost a lot of weight. Seeing this, Allison’s
eyes filled with tears, but hearing her mother call her “Penelope’, she held thern back.
“Uh, I’m here to see you.” All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
No matter how hard Allison tried, she couldn’t boss her mother around like Penelope, her tone became
a bit cold, and she stopped looking at Grace.
Grace didn’t notice anything; she was happy to see Penelope, her face bearing a smile, then her gaze
fell on Lucian, “Ms. Flanagan, who is this?”
Allison’s lips trembled slightly, her fingers gripping tightly, “This is my fiancé.”
“Oh, right, I saw it in the news; it’s Mr. Lindberg, isn’t it? That’s nice.” Grace sincerely expressed her
happiness.
Then she mumbled something under her breath, but because they were in a small elevator, it could be
clearly heard, “If only Allison could have such happiness.”
Hearing this, Allison could hardly control her tears. She gripped her palm tightly, hoping the pain would
help her hold back.
Lucian’s gaze fell on Grace, but only for a second before he looked away.
When the elevator doors opened, Grace said goodbye to “Penelope”.
Allison’s face was always indifferent, and she didn’t even dare to look at Grace’s back. At this mo ment,
she wanted to rush out, help Grace back to her room, and take good care of her.
The emotions she tried so hard to suppress were still noticed by Lucian.
“What’s the matter?” He asked.
Allison tried to hide it; she forced a smile and said, “Nothing; she’s Allison’s mother, I look a lot like
Allison, so… sometimes Allison’s mom gets us mixed up.”
Allison looked up, bumping into the man’s probing gaze.
She suddenly felt guilty, but if she looked down, it would be like admitting her guilt; wouldn’t that be
outing herself?
Allison steeled herself and said, “Aunt Grace is very kind to me; it’s saddening to see her ill.”
“Uh-huh.” Lucian replied indifferently.
When the elevator doors opened again, the man walked out.
Allison breathed a sigh of relief but felt a bit lost.
He must really dislike me, right? So he doesn’t even want to talk about Allison.
What Allison didn’t know was that Lucian was thinking of her face.
This was the first time Lucian really looked at Penelope. They did look similar, but their bone structures
were different.
Before, he had never noticed these things.
Every time he was with Penelope, he would think of Allison. Especially that night at the Willowbrook
College anniversary when Allison was in his arms and calling his name.
He was indeed drugged, but he didn’t completely lose his memory.
It wasn’t their first time. Seeing Allison’s vanity, he didn’t want to dig deeper, but he felt disgusted.
Sometimes, he would also mistake people.
He originally thought Allison was quite interesting, but she drugged him, used her similar looks to
Penelope, and made him unable to distinguish them in his confused state.
He, who had been through countless things, was actually cheated by such an unethical woman.
What a joke!
