Chapter 68
Wollf
SADIE
“Are you nervous?” Becka asked me.
I blew a shaky breath. “No. Not at all. I’m excited, unlike my first wedding. I wanted to run if there was a chance. I thought I was marrying a mafia boss.”
In a few minutes, I was going to be married to the same man—the love of my life, for the second time—this time, at the back of our house. I wasn’t wearing anything extravagant like my first wedding. This time I wore a minimalist satin-wrapped wedding dress with a hat to honor my late English father, Lewis. Last week, we found out he was buried in London. We took a quick trip and visited his grave.
“Are you ready?”
I nodded at Austin. “Yes,” I asked him if he could walk me down the aisle. He was even glad and said yes.
When the music started, I took a deep breath and walked towards my man waiting for me. He was wearing a simple beige suit and pants and a white crisp open-button shirt. He always looked breathtaking dressed or naked. For young girls, he was the epitome of a living prince charming.
Austen handed me to Cenric, and I gave my flower to Becka. We didn’t have a rehearsal just like the first one, but I felt like we knew what to do.
Cenric was smiling as he took my hand. “You look beautiful.”
“You clean up pretty well.”
He lifted his hand and ran his thumb on my cheek. “You always took my breath away, mi Cielo.”
“I felt the same every time I looked into your eyes, Cenric.” I felt drawn to him. My heart pounded so hard in my chest. Our faces were merely an inch apart when someone cleared his throat.
“Oh.” I laughed. “Sorry.”
“My apologies.” Cenric laughed as well. “We are caught in the moment.”
“Let’s start,” the priest started. “We gathered here today to join Cenric and Sadie in holy matrimony for the second time.” It caused chuckles from our small audience.
He did a short speech before the exchange of vows.
“Do you take Sadie to be your wife, to live together in holy matrimony, to love her, to honor her, to comfort her, and to keep her in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?”
“I do.”
“Do you take Cenric to be your husband, to live together in holy matrimony, to love him, to honor him, to comfort him, and to keep him in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?”
“I do.”
“Do you have your vow, Cenric?”
“I do.” He drew a deep breath before he smiled. “I vow to make my life, my heart, and my soul forever be yours. I promise to be the man you see before and now, tomorrow and for always. I love you, Sadie.” He slipped another ring into my finger. I put my old engagement ring and wedding band in my right hand.
I wanted to cry, but I forced my tears back. Cenric just said he loved me, and I wanted to throw myself to him, “Jeez, that was beautiful.”
“Do you have your vow, Sadie?”
“Yes, I have.” I held his hand. “You made my life so wonderful. You gave me hope and light, and I am not afraid to dream again because I know you’d be there every step of the way. You made me learn how to love impossibly and uncontrollably. I love you before and now, and for always.” I fought and fought my urge not to shed tears, but for Cenric, I thought I just made him cry.
“Jesus.” He laughed out loud.
“You got it, brother.” Cas just shook his head in amusement.
“I never saw him a crybaby until today.” Beck patted his shoulder.
“By the power vested in me by the State of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Again. You may now kiss your bride.”
“I love you, babe.” He didn’t even give me time to reply before he kissed me.
“I love you.”
We had a huge backyard with enough space for the reception. My husband entertained the guys, and I was stuck with the girls.
“So, how’s the feeling of being married to the same man twice?”
I clinked my Champagne glass with Zhuri’s and sipped it. “Yay! I’m happy you are here. I will marry him again if he’d ask me for the third time.”
She looked at my hands. “He’s generous.”
I looked at my old engagement and wedding ring. “I don’t know why I couldn’t take these off.”
“You’re the next Victoria Beckham. Keep them all. They look good on your fingers.”
“I’m so glad you marry big wollfy again.” Becka kissed me on my cheek.
“I love him, and I will marry him every six months if he wants to. So, how’re you and Devin?”
Her eyes widened. Her cheeks flamed.
“I know. And you two will be a cute couple.”
“My brother will kill me.”
“Why? He’s hooking up with my assistant.” I looked at Beck and Maeve. They were about to jump into one another.
“That girl?” Becka pointed at Maeve.
“That girl is a wonderful and kind woman. I think they’re perfect for a rough around the edges guy with a goody-two-shoe sweet girl.”
Zhuri smiled. “Since when did you play matchmaker?”
“Months ago. For Becka, I knew I didn’t have to. Devin is instantly attracted to her like a fire to the gasoline,” I said proudly.
“Don’t tell Beck. I have a three-day conference next month. I didn’t want him to follow me around and warm men to stay away from me. Is it true Beck punched Devin?”
“Yes. I was there. If it wasn’t for me, Devin might have a few broken bones.”
“Why? What happened?”Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“It’s a long story, but I bet the history would repeat itself if you or Devin would not start telling Beck.”
“Oh, boy.”
“Thank you for inviting me, Sadie.” Maeve joined in. She was wearing a blue mini dress. She was the epitome of a hot assistant, but she seemed unaware of how attractive she was.
“Of course, Maeve. You’re also a friend. This is Becka, Beck’s sister.”
“Hi.” Beck didn’t have a huge resemblance with Becka, even if they were twins. Judging by her reaction, she didn’t know they were related.
“Twin, actually.”
Her eyes went wide. “You’re his twin?”
“The prettiest. Nice to meet you.” Becka kissed her on her cheek and whispered whatever made Maeve’s eyes go bigger.
“So, Beck isn’t chatty, huh?”
“I guess he’s busy with something else.” Becka laughed out loud, making Maeve red like a tomato.
“Can I borrow my wife?” I felt his hand on my waist.
“Don’t bring her back here. She’s all yours,” Becka said, still laughing. “What’s she now, Sadie Greer-Wollf-Wollf?”
“Devin is there.” Cenric gestured. “Go ahead. Don’t be shy now.”
Becka groaned, warning him.
“Glad to see you’re happy, Becka. I love you, and you know that.”
“That’s not your secret to reveal, babe.”
He snorted, “Beck is suspecting they’re together. And about time for her to be happy. I’m sure Wade would be happy for her.” We danced on the dance floor. “Babe?”
“Yeah.” I looked at him.
“If I die before—”
I pressed my finger on his lips. “It’s our wedding day, silly.”
“I know, but—”
“I swear you will sleep in the other room tonight.”
“Okay, okay.” He surrendered, laughing.
“When did you learn to love me?”
He gave me a dreamy look. “I think I was falling for you since my birthday.”
I blinked up at him. Wow.
“I have not told you that I love you, but in my heart, I knew I love you, Sadie.”
“I love you, too, Cenric.” I smiled, my eyes filling with tears.
“This time, I will make love to you, then we fuck, make love, then fuck again tonight. It’s our wedding night after all.”
I grinned. Wickedly.
He squinted his eyes. “Why are you grinning?”
“You denied me many times, remember? Maybe tonight, I will be the one to deny you.”
“No fucking way.”
“We’ll see who wins, Wollf.”
