Chapter 1766 She Was Pregnant
Chapter 1766 She Was Pregnant
"Dad…" Black called. He grew emotional as he watched the back of his own father, slowly walking
away from him.
Rex, however, didn't seem to hear his son's pleas. He turned and headed downstairs.
During the past few days, Rex had become softhearted and had been thinking about changing his
mind. He thought it might be a good decision to let Black see Holley again. Although Rex didn't like
Holley, Holley was pregnant with Black's child. Rex was going to have a grandchild.
But what happened today made Rex even more sure of his original decision. No matter what
happened, he would never let his son see that woman again.
After Rex left, Black fell on the ground, lowered his head, utterly frustrated and depressed.
Black had made up his mind. He decided not to give in to his Dad this time. It was time for him to
decide for himself. It was his life, and no one had a say in it except himself. He would fight with Rex.
Otherwise, he could never be with Holley. Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
In the company
Holley just drove from her house to the company. She'd woken up in a bad mood.
"Are you blind? Watch where you're going!"
An employee bumped into Holley by accident. Holley slapped him in the face, which shocked him.
"Sorry, Manager Ye. I didn't mean to do that. I'm really sorry!" The employee felt like his face was
burning. He covered his face with one of his hands, nursing the pain. He apologized to Holley, hoping
that she would calm down.
"Which department do you work for? You're fired! Pack your stuff and get the hell out! I don't want to
see your face again."
Holley pointed her finger to the door.
The employee shook his head and left in frustration.
However, yelling at someone didn't make Holley feel any better. Instead, she seemed to get even more
annoyed.
At that moment, her phone rang. Holley impatiently answered the call.
"Hello!"
"Wow, Manager Ye, you sound angry."
Holley was too angry to look at the caller ID before she answered the call. She was surprised to hear
that it was Leila calling her.
"I'm not mad. But I do have something to share with you." Holley became even angrier when she heard
Leila's voice. Leila couldn't do anything right and kept getting her into trouble.
She thought this was a good time for revenge. She wanted to make Leila jealous.
"What is it?" Leila asked, after hesitating for a while.
Holley answered Leila excitedly, raising her voice, "I'm pregnant!"
"What?" Leila was so surprised to hear the news. She thought she'd heard it wrong.
How could Holley be pregnant when she wasn't married?
However, Holley sounded way too serious and excited to be lying. But then again, Leila was confused
as to why Holley would be excited about being pregnant.
After all, Holley wasn't married, and yet she got pregnant. Holley should be ashamed of herself!
Leila looked down on women like that. Still, she faked her excitement and congratulated Holley, "I'm so
happy for you, Holley. Congratulations!"
"Thank you," Holley answered. Then she asked Leila, "So, why did you call me?"
"Nothing, I just miss you. So I wanted to call you and see how you're doing. And now I learned this
exciting news. It's worth celebrating."
Holley and Leila chatted for a little while as if they were really close friends. But both of them knew they
were just faking it, and they soon hung up.
Leila was frustrated when she hung up. She was upset that a woman like Holley could get what she
wanted. Why couldn't Leila have the same?
Why wouldn't Charles touch her? Leila wished she could be pregnant too so that she could marry
Charles. Having a baby would be the best gift for Leila right now. But Charles wouldn't give her that
chance.
Leila was so angry when she thought of how happy and excited Holley was. It was just unfair. She bit
her lips, lost in thought.
"Leila?"
a secretary in the Shining Company called Leila's name when she noticed that Leila was lost in
thought.
It brought back Leila's attention. She scornfully glanced at the secretary and barked, "What? My ears
are working perfectly fine. I'm not deaf. You don't need to raise your voice like that."
"I'm sorry, Leila. But David tells me that this is urgent. I haven't dealt with anything like this before. I
was hoping you could help me," the secretary asked Leila, embarrassed.
"Fine, give me the file."
Leila wasn't good at hiding emotions. She was an open book. She worked so hard to get Charles and
Sheryl to break up. If she didn't get the chance to marry Charles soon, they would probably get back
together, and it would all be over.
The secretary came at the worst possible time, and Leila took it out on her.
David was watching from a distance, trying to keep an eye on Leila. He noticed how upset she had
gotten after she hung up the phone, so he figured it must have had something to do with that.
He never liked Leila. If it weren't for her, Charles and Sheryl never would have broken up. He was glad
that Leila got bad news, and he wanted to know who Leila was just talking to that made her this upset.
But David shook off this thought quickly. He didn't have time to watch Leila take out her anger on the
secretary. He sent Charles the files and left the office. He had something more important to do.
Leila collected herself and returned to her work. After all, things weren't going very smoothly in the
company of late. Charles had a lot to work on, and, as his secretary, Leila was very busy too.
In the Tarsan Corporation
After she hung up on Leila, Holley leaned back in her leather chair. She was exhausted.
However, a smile broke on her face.
She knew for a fact that Leila was jealous of her. She was able to get what Leila wanted. She had only
befriended Leila so she could use her.
'Leila, you think you and I are on the same level? You can't even make Charles fall in love with you, but
you show off to me all the time. I'd love to see if you're finally going to get to marry Charles, '
Holley thought to herself. She felt much better after talking to Leila.
However, this good mood wouldn't last very long.
Ferry was nowhere to be found during the past few days, so Holley had thought he would just leave her
alone. But she was wrong.
Holley knew Ferry's phone number by heart. So when she saw that number on her screen, she felt her
heart skip a beat. She couldn't even catch her breath.
Her phone rang and rang. Shaking her head, Holley picked up the call.
"Holley, I see you've learned a lot from me. You know how to protect yourself now," Ferry teased Holley.
Holley was confused. She didn't know what Ferry was talking about.
